    • A lot more images and details courtesy of the official site, including some some lovely art (very much in line with the art we got for X/Y!) with a birds-eye view of Lumiose: Looks like the colour of the roofs will be a clear way to tell which part of the city you're in, and the tile colours match up with the colours of the different "balls" in the old Lumiose map: I also spy some shops with clothes, time to get our customisation game back on  Judging from the blue roof colour and enclosed courtyard, it seems like Hotel Z is located just NNE from Lumiose Tower, if you refer to the map above. Looks like there's also a metro system for getting around the city (well, assuming it's functional, which I imagine it would be), but maybe that's just where you arrive into the city from?  Speaking of transport, looking at the map again, while there is some art of Skiddo - no Gogoats? Perhaps the Gogoat Shuttle went out of business? Also makes me wonder if taxis will return or... And now for the character art...which as always looks much better than the in-game models  I won't go into everything - they've got character bios, there's some stuff on catching Pokémon, Mega Evolution, etc. - but just wanted to highlight AZ's bio because it made me chuckle... Just the idea of a hotel owner being like "no, really! I'm 3000 years old!" got a laugh out of me  Excited to see how this turns out, in any case!
    • Have to say though, I am feeling a bit conflicted about this decision.  This essentially means that mainline Pokemon has now gone mobile, and that this represents the end of the mainline series when it comes to its main battle mechanics. The "mainline" games can now essentially be whatever Game Freak want to do, as they don't need to fit the classic gameplay mold anymore.  The only thing they need to do is to allow you to transfer Pokemon that you catch in Gen 10-20-whatever into Pokemon Champions; they could be turned into football puzzle games for all it matters now.  Kind of sad to think that there's nothing new to look forward to when it comes to core gameplay mechanics in future Pokemon games going forward... On the other hand, Mainline Pokemon is fucking crap now anyway; and barely even resembles the classic Dragon Quest-esc RPGs of yesteryear anyway.  At least this will give us Pokemon's fundamental battle system in all its full glory...
    • Going up directly against GTA 6? That's brave.
    • Heads up, I don't think that @Glen-i is coming round today, so @BowserBasher, you are our only hope!
    • Looks like we can mix and match core mechanics from all of the various mainline games if we can have both Mega Evolution and Terastelisation in the same battle! So this is basically an official version of Pokemon Showdown? I imagine that this will become the new standard for Pokemon VGC going forward, with the mainline games no longer used for competitive battling; but just for raising Pokemon for transfer into Champions. I'm happy with this direction.  It's long overdue at this point.
