Retro_Link Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Think I've only seen him in Mission Impossible 3.
flameboy Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Think I've only seen him in Mission Impossible 3. Red Dragon? That's what I remember him for most as a shitty news reporter.
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 That truly comes as a shock. What are people's thoughts as to the cause?
gaggle64 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Oh godammit. I was having a perfectly nice day too.
Jonnas Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 WHAT!? He's such an amazing actor... And still so young.
bryanee Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 That truly comes as a shock. What are people's thoughts as to the cause? I've read drug overdose but I don't know if that's true.
gaggle64 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Think I've only seen him in Mission Impossible 3. Capote, Magnolia, The Big Lebowski, The Talented Mr Ripely? You must have seen at least one of these.
MindFreak Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 What will they do with Mockingjay pt 2 now, I wonder?
Sméagol Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 That´s a pretty shitty way to end my film festival.
Guy Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 If it was drugs... what a horrible waste of what could have been another 30-40 years with an incredible talent.
drahkon Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Think I've only seen him in Mission Impossible 3. Capote, Magnolia, The Big Lebowski, The Talented Mr Ripely? You must have seen at least one of these. Synecdoche New York.
bob Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I saw him in the Boat the Rocked. I saw a report that he was found with a needle in his arm, so it seems overdoes is the cause. Very sad.
dwarf Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 He was amazing in Synecdoche and The Master, very similar to Jack Nicholson in the sense that his performances were always very volatile and interesting just to look at. Crushing blow for film.
Agent Gibbs Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 What the hell? no way! if the overdose is true thats a horrible waste of life, RIP Phil you will be missed
Sheikah Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 That's a shame. He will forever be the guy that sharted.
Shorty Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 From what I've read he died of a heroine overdose and left behind three kids under 10.... I feel for his family but find it hard to mourn the guy under those circumstances.
Sméagol Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 This talks a bit about the consequences for future projects: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/philip-seymour-hoffmans-death-future-676405
Beast Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 This truly came as a shock! R.I.P Phillip Seymour Hoffman
Rummy Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Think I've only seen him in Mission Impossible 3. I'm with you man. I know who he is but don't recall him from much other than MI3 and Patch Adams(more because I saw it again a few months ago).
Goafer Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Probably the last photo taken of him: A tintype taken at the Sundance Film Festival on the 19th January. He doesn't look too well.
Iun Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 From what I've read he died of a heroine overdose and left behind three kids under 10.... I feel for his family but find it hard to mourn the guy under those circumstances. Harsh though it be, I agree with you. These kids have lost their father, but anyone who has three children and still does heroin.... is what kind of father? Again, feel for his family.
