  1. I dunno if we all watched this show, but I certainly dug it as a kid. Looking back at it now I can't believe how atrociously bad and somewhat racist/sexist it is, yet for some reason I can't look at it with anything other than affection. At the very least everyone thought the toys were cool, right? I guess this thread is here to remember such an awesome kids televison show. Zyuranger discussion is permitted also. If you dunno what Zyuranger is... give it a Google and prepare to have your mind blown Back to the Future Part 3 cock point style. But in order for this to work... WE NEED YOUTUBE POWER! NOW! Also... Goldar is fucking RIDICULOUS.
  2. I'm in way too deep with Wii U to sell it on. I still have about 10 games in my backlog to finish. Plus, yeah, due to the low sales it's going to be a nightmare to find in future and I've made the mistake of selling systems and games to fund new ones before. Still trying to rebuild my N64 and GameCube collection.
  3. Your film diary 2017

Having never seen any Studio Ghibli movies, I'm digging into those at the moment! Spirited Away I can't really fault this movie in any way, everything about it is utterly beautiful. Loved the way Yubaba runs around. My Neighbour Totoro This might be the greatest animated movie of all time. The two sisters are absolutely adorable and Totoro himself is pretty much completely insane.
  4. I would be all over Snipperclips at launch. Can't wait to get my hands on that game.
  5. Do you use voice command?

I'll 'HEY SIRI' if I need a cooking timer, that's about it really. I once had a very friendly homeless man give me a full demonstration of voice recognition on his Android smartphone outside Euston station. He was very polite and respectful to Google, ensuring he offered thanks for every piece of information provided. This remains one of my more surreal recent memories.
  6. Need to pop by my local Smyths, who I have an online reserve and collect pre-order with, to see if I'll be allocated a launch unit. Would much prefer to drop at 9am on launch day rather than sit around waiting for the online delivery. Went for grey, I'll grab an extra set of colourful Joycon when more flavours are available - probably around when Arms hits. The Joycons also have + and - identifiers on them to help differentiate each unit.
  7. The fact we are five weeks away from launch and still speculating about very basic elements of Switch is really concerning.
  8. Shovel Knight

Probably triple-dipping on this. The game is too great not to become part of my Switch library.
  9. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

I'm just happy I can own a complete copy of Mario Kart 8. With everything compiled on the Switch cart, all the content will be accessible forever unlike the Wii U version which will eventually go offline and prevent people obtaining the DLC packs.
  10. Your film diary 2017

It's very possible I myself have overlooked or missed something, but...
  11. Your film diary 2017

RED Random dumb popcorn flick Netflix watch, enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. Your Name Beautiful visuals, memorable soundtrack and a truly engaging story if you can ignore some glaring oversights. Godzilla Resurgence Great depiction of the big guy, really interesting perspective on the Japanese government response. Satomi Ishihara.
  12. Kickstarter Projects Thread

The out of print and currently super expensive Megadrive/Genesis Collected Works book is getting a reprint on Kickstarter, can be backed now. Ends in 40 days.
  13. We'll get a Direct outlining system features, online account stuff (or lack of) and confirmation of eShop/Virtual Console lineups. Maybe.
  14. Happy to have them back, so long as Nintendo continue to offer regular controls an alternative option when possible. Arms having standard controls was a pleasant surprise and I hope this will be their approach whenever possible.
  15. Pre-order is greyed out, they must have them unavailable until they revise the price. Dang.
  16. I can't justify those new amiibo right now. Might try for them at the local Smyths around launch as they're listed on their website for the usual price, even the Guardian.
  17. Just had a look at the total I was going to be spending on this launch, slapped myself around the face and cancelled a heap of superfluous (at launch) accessories. System, Zelda and any other attractively priced games'll do nicely for me in March.
  18. I'll take this fan game over the trash Sonic Team have been pumping out for the last decade. Game looked slick on the Switch screen. Day one purchase. Would love for a physical edition but digital is better than nothing.
  19. 1-2 Switch (March 3rd 2017)

Really feels like specifically announcing there would be more games than demonstrated would have been in their favour. Nintendo continue to make baffling decisions. Still, if these extra games are as fun as the ones we've seen so far, 1, 2, Switch will probably end up as a decent, albeit expensive, little launch title.
  20. Grey or Red/Blue

Grey system with a spare pair of Red/Blue Joycon seems like a nice approach for me. Might wait and get the extra Joycon separately when Arms is out though.
  21. After playing today, it's more likely for me. The hardware is amazing and I can swallow the higher-than-expected price point a little easier now. Zelda feels fantastic on it, 1,2 Switch is really fun (and joining my collection on day one if I can find it at a decent price) and Arms, Splatoon 2, Snipperclips and Mario Kart are all looking truly solid for the next few months as well. Consider me slightly less bummed out after my hands on.
  22. Arms

I had an amazing time with this today. It's so satisfying to play and has real potential to be another massive Nintendo IP like Splatoon if they can add enough content to justify a full retail game. Everyone else playing seemed to be having a blast too. Arms had the most booths at the London event and it was easy to see why. Also interested in the depth that would be offered using non motion controls.
  23. I prefer the online system of the Wii U as it has no additional cost, but I'm hoping it'll be a bit easier to stomach the new Switch proposal when more details are known and certain concerns are addressed or clarified. If Nintendo want to charge anything close to other systems for their online service, they had better provide an online service worthy of that fee. Otherwise it's just an unnecessary entry barrier for a system seemingly plagued with issues before it has even released.
  24. Arms

So motion controls can be switched (ooh-hoo) off and some players are reporting a decent amount of depth and strategy to this. I guess the key word for Arms is potential. Hope Nintendo can work some more interesting ideas into this to justify that price tag.
  25. I have the system pre-ordered in a few locations. If I have the money available in March and Zelda Switch turns out to be significantly superior to the Wii U version, I'll probably bite. Probably...
