Wow. I should've gone here before posting in the PS5 thread -
This is 2 bucks on the PSN store right now. Couldn't resist. Been playing this for a while and it's actually pretty great Aaaand this is 6 bucks. Couldn't resist Haven't played much, but so far it's been good. Gameplay is super barebones, but the writing more than makes up for it. Looking forward to seeing where it goes. I'll be out of town for 5 days without any chance of gaming, so I'm pretty sure one of these games will be my first completed game of 2025

With The Last Guardian done, I was looking for something a little more relaxing. There was a thread on Era about games that are like DKC and this one popped up in the conversation. I remember Aneres11 enjoying when he played it are a while ago and seeing as it was on sale for £1.59, I figured I would give it a punt. It was okay. It's very much a rip off of DKC Returns. The boss designs, look of the levels, world map and rolling move have been completely nicked from DKCR. Its so blatant. The first couple of worlds are stupidly easy but then things ramp up in the third. Turns out the third world was the final one. I was kinda baffled by this. It feels like the game is missing a whole middle section. It's as if the developers completely ran out of time and quickly cobbled together something. This definitely seems to be the case when you consider free DLC was added that gave players a whole new world to play through. -
My yank ass has to wait until January 3rd to watch Vengeance Most Foul…. Anywho, watched what I believe was the finale to season 2 of Shrinking. Season 2 had more zany one liners and situations but they still pulled out the serious moments pretty well. Apple ended it with a fade to black but the black was a “if you or someone needs help” message and a link to an Apple webpage. Apples page then breaks it down into categories with links to the appropriate organizations. It’s not much but it’s still nice to see the resources being put out there. -
Just started playing it and it's adorable. I do have a few small niggles so far, the controls feel awkward (but I find that's a general Switch issue, I'm constantly hitting incorrect buttons) and I wish you could assign multiple echoes at once. The graphics are also lovely, but the bloom at the entrance to areas is a bit overboard, you can barely see Zelda. I do like the echo idea already, and it's nice to play a Zelda game in a different way.
