Just to be different..... I have had a self confessed love of the Enigmatic number 23, Hate Jim Carrey. Hollywood have a method of screwing up everything that has some sort of meaning.

Turbo was the last incarnation of SF II I really enjoyed.

The 'gender' of the mind is nothing to worry about, peer pressure and history can be blamed for the repression of peoples true inner feelings that have been showing themselves surfacing over the past few decades. Society is shit for managing it all in the first place. Not every man wants to be a shallow uncaring type who cant be bothered with his complexion or appearance, on the flipside, not every woman wants to wake up in the morning mary poppins styley, slap on makeup, stick on stillettos and a skirt and make sure the dishes are washed and Tea is ready for when the breadwinner returns home (as examples). All the Brain gender thing at the moment is allowing for is for people to become true individuals...Transgenderism and homosexuality are totally different things. Im all for each Sex being true to themselves as it makes for a happier world and happier individuals in the long run.....likewise Im not going to complain if women decide to to be a bit more aggressive in bed or pay for the next round in the pub.... Gender does still exist, but it is redefining its meaning without the constraints of the sexes.

The only thing I can see that is different about these holograms is the colour static thing, the moving images thing has been something that could be done with foil holograms for years. I Remember when I was knee high (20ish years ago), going to an exhibition of holograms whilst on holiday in Gt Yarmouth and they had something similar. The one I remember in particular was a Microscope that if you levelled your eye 'over' the eyepiece you could look down it and see the image of a microchips guts through it.

That is a sensible comment. The whole situation is a bit catch 22. The point is if the Wii wasnt trying to use its motion sensing capabilities and just making games to a high graphical standard there would be people throwing in comments of disappointment over that reason.... The Wii is new territory in this sense and it needs to be experimented with explored for that capability. I still believe if the concept is played right it will advantageous to the whole video game experience.
-
That is probably the most sensible method of doing things. The only way the Wii will shine properly is if things are done with the system in mind and build from ground up imho.

Woo...A possible rhythm game overload on the Wii ??? If this is true, Keep 'em coming is what I say....

If its an act of murder, yes, no, possibly, depends and how long is a piece of string ?. Comes down to viewpoint of how that person wants to kill and what they want to achieve. Bullets unless pinpoint can cause a messy, painful death, strangulation and suffocation can be quick if done 'correctly'....(not that I have studied the correct ways, understand....I know by closing the windpipe you can initiate unconcousness pretty quickly, therefore I imagine that suffocation could be achieved as quick and cleanly) Matter of survival, again I suppose it depends but personally would go for the first thing that did the job and worry about the personal mental damage and court case later, although a gun would be damn useful in such a situation. Unless you were a marksman or FPS Doug or going at it point blank (which is up close and personal with the victim) with a gun it could be a very messy and painful death. I like the eye.
-
The distinctintion I make comes from the point of view that I do not agree that anyone has the right to take life, I know it sounds like a flat view to some ppl....If a gun was in my hand and I was pulling the trigger it would be as methodological as bludgeoning or suffocating, the only perspective that i could see that issue being any different is if it was a reflex of my need to survive and as such detatched..As you say it depends on perspective and I appreciate that. (Welcome to the psychology of the 4q2 brain :p) One thing is certain: Whatever comes from Rockstar under the Manhunt banner, if you dont like the concept of it, its probably best to stay away from it...It will end up with a mature rating and I as a responsible, mature adult () dont want to be denied it due to someone lobbying its theoretical effect on human society.

From my perspective, killing is killing....None of it is humane in any way in RL. I dont condone it in any way. The point is 99.9% of people can tell the difference between the real thing and a game or a film so why should it be an issue ? I could watch false graphic scenes of murder and mutilation all day and not bat an eyelid, I know if I saw it happen for real my response would be very different.
-
Damn right regarding the correct ppl making contact with such material. But we would have a pretty one dimensional set of games and films if it was'nt relied on. How many games rely on killing being the object ? I dont see the true difference between pumping something full of bullets (ie. Nazi in CoD) or suffocating someone with a plastic bag...Go back to Smash TV, the only reason it wasnt as shocking is the technology wasnt able to give the graphical edge. Whether we agree or not, the technologies being set up now are going to make each one of the games based on killing more graphic and realistic, its what ppl are asking for and the debate with better graphics is pushing the whole industry towards....why slice someone with a sword if you dont see the wound and bloodshed? Its a setup for a good debate, but i'm firmly more for the freedom of expression, Im fed up of the state trying to control what the hell I do with my spare time.

Agree all the way with the comment of how sick and wrong this game appears at first glance, but that whole thing (possibly, dependent on how mentally balanced you are) justified itself when you realised how sick and wrong your enemies were. Killing is killing at the end of the day, it will never be a good thing graphic or non graphic. For me it was a game of stealth at heart and I have never really found another to match it. The one thing here is N has a good weapon on their side with this title.....the weapon of controversy, literally proven to be never a bad thing.

This was a game i was praying for on the Wii in particular but thought it would be so unlikely....Support from Rockstar is quite an accomplishment imho. I hope this does see a release cos I really enjoyed the xbox version. Too right. Nothing like teaching teens how to strangle someone from behind with a nunchuck and wiimote combination or bash someones skull in with a blunt object to generate a few extra sales

Dunno when exactly...Joined for quite a while under the same user name as now on C-E, got bored of gaming and felt there was very little to converse about in the world of Nintendo gaming. Disappeared for a while came back when the Wii was due. I feel a lot less pessimistic about Nintendo this time around, but it looks like a whole lotta people have stepped up to replace that gap. I think johelian is the only one who remembers my presence lol

I played a few games on the Wii, up at my g/f's I am steadily going through Killer 7 again on her GC.

It could be the DVD player needs to be told its recording source. The one I bought my parents has Tuner (aerial), AV1, AV2, Front AV by repeatedly pressing the 'source' or input button. Dependant on which input you plugged the sky box to you will need to select that as the source.

Never had a problem with my local GS, All my N stuff has been sealed when I have bought it along with seals on the Xbox games I have bought (Cant remember if PSU on 360 was, but it was in brand spanking nick). Dont like their method of storing the pre-owned discs though, at least they could shell out on some proper disc sleves as opposed to just shoving everything in a resealable bag and in a draw to save them getting more damage.

You sure you have been frequenting straight bars recently ? lol j/k. I agree that some women can do this fashion well, problem is most cant, especially if they have a fat arse, legs that resemble oak trees and a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp (my ex for instance). I wouldnt worry too much about it though, it died a death as a fashion statement once before.

Symbian isnt bad, it got me into the wide world of 'damn I cant do without a phone without an OS'....it would be my second choice for a mobile OS though. Shop around and the prices arent too bad on them (imo). Motorola, they trail in the customisation stakes, but have come along in leaps and bounds over the last few years....Solid as a phone though.
-
Lol same here, My original XDA (Running at about 420Mhz) I managed to overclock to around 1Ghz when benchmarked with a few hacks, but i wouldnt have dared run it without an ice pack strapped to its back.... In terms of CPU it isnt any faster than the mobile I am already using, but the GPU gives it an extra edge for watching films on the go and gaming if utilised properly. As to buttons on a phone, I need them too, it looks like the Flame has a thumb trackball (Like the Blackberry pearl, which is a beautiful phone to look at). If I needed to achieve the iPhone method of menu's, there is already a simple mod kicking about. As I said it wont be a desirable phone to most ppl due to the size, why would anyone nick what they cant sell ?...Even a second rate smackhead knows that isnt worth the risk. You are more likely to get your spanking new RAZR nicked....My phone has an off tariff street value of £1300 as I said no-one glances twice...they are more likely to think you have a prehistoric brick, unless you are walking around the street playing it full blast with scooter or some other chav house choon and the display strobing the apple logo and £500 at regular intervals.
-
You wont get mugged for a brick of a phone, lol...To many ppl are all for the tiny phones, they are more desirable. I have never got mugged for using mine and it lights up like a damned xmas tree with a VGA screen. As to the size, its not a problem....I have had mobiles since they first became popular and the size is roughly the same except thinner. Damage wise, fear it....your heart will miss a beat every time you see that phone drop. As I said before, if you desire the features it may be a good purchase. for me though my mind is made up: 3.6" VGA display? You got it. An NVIDIA GoForce 5500 GPU for next-generation mobile graphics? Sure, why not? And how about an Intel XScale PXA270 520MHz CPU, 2GB ROM, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, USB On-The-Go, a 2.0-megapixel camera, SRS Mobile HD surround sound support, and TV-out support. Lovely jubbly.

After the disappointing 3rd party support of N64 and GC, the Wii is doing pretty damned well at the moment. When the Wii released there was no reason to expect the machine getting this much support and in that respect everyone who knew Nintendo, should have known it was a gamble if they didnt want more of the same...

Watched a few today, so: Pans Labrynth: Not bad....a little bizarre, but the story added up....confused as to where the Faun produced sticks of chalk from though. Nice effects and creatures in there. 7/10 Ecks Vs Sever: Ballistic: Never got round to watching it (After playing the GBA version of the game it was a film I wanted to see). Storyline is a lot different from the game version, which was a let down. Pretty average affair really, although Lucy Liu was looking fine. 6/10 The Warriors. Screw the directors cut.....Lost count of the amount of times I have watched this film, it never gets less interesting for me. Far fetched, unreal and at times funny (Especially for Ajax's one liners). Cannot recommend this classic enough. The remake is going to have a battle on its hands to even come near to beating this. 9/10

Dont you mean series 2 episode 1 ? Ep 12 was out last year (November ?) It is an amusing show... Been watching it since episode 5. Episode 10 where it was flashing back to Jeremys attempts a jobs amused the shit outta me. FPS Doug is a quality character, almost steals the limelight at times. Dunno, the only two of them I enjoyed were the RE4 Merchant ('kin hilarious) and the tetris one.
