We are safer with them than without them....Unfortunately

Suda has a talent that is a refreshing change to the games industry.. I would like to hear his definition of Call & Response & Crash & Build though.

After subscribing to Bizarre magazine for god knows how many years, this isnt a surprise at all.....Im sure there have been mentions of artists using their own excrement to create paintings and sculptures as well... Definitley not something to hang over the the fireplace.

Capcom Studio Head Talks Mature Titles, Reusing Engines
4q2 replied to Dante's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Agree with Dead Rising never making it to the Wii.....I genuinely believe it could be done with some great 'labour of love' style effort on behalf of the development team (with some comprimises of course), but Capcoms exec would never fund it. -
Ive been on an o2 contract for 5 years and never had a problem either.
-
Looking interesting.

Metalheads think they all have to have long hair...? Wouldnt say so, back in the day it was just part of the fashion statement for rock and the full spectrum of metal, nowadays it is a rarity, which is the main reason I kept mine long as its part of my individuality..
-
Thats about the same length as mine is now......Lol, I am waiting for the impending onset of male pattern baldness and looking like a throwback from Status Quo (I usually ponytail it for work). I am promising myself I will hit some metal gigs this year...its been too long and I cursed myself for not going and seeing Slayer last year. I am pretty sure my neck will not thank me for moshing around these days though.
-
Cheers I still have the hair as well, It was down to my arse until I took the decision to chop it just below the shoulders 3 years ago.
-
The tender young age of 33. Thrash was my scene around the age of 14-15 yo.....Still love it now.
-
I played it in 60Hz from the outset, but it still has that irritating problem of the controller going on one when there is a lot of action... I wasnt aware that it got a lot worse in 50Hz.
-
Eeeeh you are taking me back now......All that vinyl I purchased, all those gigs I attended, all those tour t-shirts I still own even though I wont ever wear them again. Thrash was my favourite genre all the way through, too many good bands to mention in my collection.

The Great Global Warming Swindle - Channel 4
4q2 replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in General Chit Chat
Screw global warming.....being my stubborn self I have never agreed with the theory due to the fact the world has never stayed the same temperature. From a mad prophets point of view it will get warmer and people will drown and die due to decreasing landmass, meanwhile because the government is banning the right to controlled self destruction we will get over populated and people will live miserable lifestyles of starvation without shelter, by which point sex will also be illegal....Japan will make some floaty islands and then the earth will gradually begin to freeze over again, but everyone will be so fucking bored they will probably start topping themselves out of boredom anyway. ..Or something. -
Movie: The Warriors Album: Reign in Blood - Slayer Book: Armageddon: The B Movie by Robert Rankin. Reasons: Cos I like them and thats the frame of mind I am in right now. Ask the question next week and it could well be a different answer.

Miyamato GDC Keynote 18:30 GMT - Something on the cards tonight from Shigsy?

There goes Heckers argument of the mention of Nintendo and Artform in the same sentence... -

Dont....You can just see some bad advertising campaign with the Chuckle Brothers being live action Mario & Luigi (That would be more realistic than using Bob Foreskins though) -
I didnt watch the program, but Size 0 is an idiotic craze. Its as attractive as someone who dines on a block of lard each meal. Whetever happened to the perfect 10 ?

One of Spores developers says "The Wii is a Piece of Sh*t!"
4q2 replied to Dante's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Having industry experience means nothing in terms of the big picture of production. That comment is the same as saying you would listen to any comment Girls Aloud make about studio technology and production methods whereas anyone else outside of the industry knows squat about good music. Complex AI isnt something that most games require and graphics are as good as the artist trying to convey their vision (ie. photorealism can be nice but there are plenty of ways of showing the same thing to a satisfactory level where it will not have a negative effect on the experience), and as SimonM7 says "art just is" (argue that Picasso produced a lot of shite in his time with a bunch of art critics and see how far you get). In gaming as in all media, the audience is paramount, and from my pov because this guy simply cant make his vision come true on the Wii means he is incompetent with his creativity on an artistic level.... -

What a strange person this Hecker is. When he joined Maxis, was it based on the fact that the Sims are up there in the category of games that are an art form ? Is he some alien force that is trying to take over the world with a console army that uses really complex AI routines ? This guys logic is lost on me......20+ years of gaming and I simply dont see what he is saying..... Entertaining and fun software can be considered an artform, something which Nintendo have as much if not more discipline in than most. If we are talking good games that can seriously fall into the 'art form' category that have appeared over the years I could count those titles on one hand. Which leads to the question: - Would this guy argue that pencil and paper is an inferior medium at the side of digital production mediums ? -
Thats what i meant...I'm sure there will be plenty of companies with stuff due to hit this year (Probably 3rd/4th quarter)....Especially now they are seeing the cash potential. All going well, if my prediction is correct, we should have an healthy library of releases before the years out. (By healthy I mean substantially better than the N64 and GC in their first year). ....We will also see a healthy amount of shite as well from the rushed titles. At the end of the day, its a drought thats driven by the individual player. I cant class VC (like eMasher) or the existing GC library as a break in the drought myself....its the equivalent of just dragging out one of my older machines, but if it keeps everyone else happy, its all good.
-
Of course it does, but not in all cases....I suppose it comes down to how simple the devkit is for developers to work with. If Rockstar manage to stay true to their schedule for Manhunt 2 for instance, that is apparently a summer release and has been built from ground up for the Wii. From 'interested' announcement to release that should be approx 6 months.
-
There is a drought if you are picky about what you want to purchase, but I'm confident that will soon change with the amount of developer interest that keeps coming.
-
Oh yes....You really can see the madness in its eyes when you approach the cage. I may try to get some photos just to show how mad it really is. Who knows he may get seen by Hollywood and taken into consideration for Godzilla II.
-
My parents have a cockatiel and it seriously has a screw loose. Its vicious (it fetches blood if you stick your fingers in the cage), wants to mate with pieces of paper, and it has also spent the past 2 years pulling out its own feathers out (regardless of the countless explainations from vets, and reading from the interweb and using suggested cures).... Im sure its trying to imitate Rodan or something.

Quality. I really do.
