  1. Recycle your old xmas tree. They worked a treat apparently.
  2. I think its the only true comment he made in that interview. The Wii needs some serious online commitment outside of pacifiers like weather/news/shop channels and there is no excuse for it not to happen. Its worrying that Nintendo havent expanded on their plans for the online future beyond whe stuff that is common knowledge.
  3. I'm sure Jade could stick up for herself if she threatened to crush skulls with those dinnerlady arms of hers.
  4. I dunno why this is even making the news..... BB was always set as a show to court controversy as controversy gets viewers....Im just finding it a bit pathetic that people don't like the 'wrong' type of controversy. I avoided watching the show with a passion, but its getting a bit impossible when it flashes up on every newspaper and news program you flick past. Now.....If they spiked the water supply with LSD and had Big Brother announce to each contestant "Someone in the house is trying to kill you", I would maybe watch it cos then it would turn into a true social experiment.
  5. I will take your word on the part of the dev team, you are correct....What I was hinting at was production team, only the last few names in the credits tended not to be on the direct payroll.
  6. Heh, thats what lack of sleep does for you.....I will return. http://duhduhduhduh.phantomhourglass.org/main.php?id=383 http://duhduhduhduh.phantomhourglass.org/main.php?id=385
  7. Commented in a thread about Stargate..
  8. http://duhduhduhduh.phantomhourglass.org/main.php?id=304 I want the spiked ball and chain of death !!! Not fair !!!!11
  9. It all gets a bit pointless without O 'Neill....Its sort of blasphemy to not include him.
  10. Of course you could do it with a smaller team, if you chose to, it wasnt something I saw often though....Starwing (or Starfox) on the Snes would have been a pretty short ending sequence if that was the case....Most games I completed back then had more than a ten man team in those credits... N64 dev had to be done with a Silicon Graphics workstation.....The PS FMV had to have video made on matching kit. A PS standard CD allowed more space and was also the pirates dream. All the way down the line piracy has fueled media base kit. My only point here is you can pull in more than a few examples of things game related and non-game related that piracy has helped along the way to getting a good installed user base. MP3 players, dual cassette decks, DVD players, DVD writers etc. If it wasnt for the usage of ROMS with emulators I doubt Nintendo would have ever gone down the Virtual Console path either.
  11. Achieving the true ending to Rez on DC. A beautiful and moving experience.
  12. But the Snes for instance did have its 3rd party titles in abundance and they sold....My collection was made up of a lot more than just 1st party games. The crunch for Nintendo gamers buying more 1st party games did come when devs decided CD storage capacity vs cartridge cost allowed for more media and gloss to be added to the disc and moved to PS development. Even to this day the disc isnt making the engine of the games any bigger cos its being pissed up the wall on graphics data and orchestrated soundtracks, even more so on the latest systems..(Im sure that was pointed out by Tetsuya Mizuguchi in an interview recently). Both elements could have been compressed with little effort or cost to the developer. As to Resident Evil 4 being outsold by Mario Party, that logically figures... Most PS owners had already played it, they had moved onto other stuff like Silent Hill, GTA, Manhunt and games of the same ilk, along with the stigma GC had it wasnt going to sell more systems to the core group of gamers (also add in the fact early predessor chavs were buying copies of games like there was no tomorrow and every chavettes favourite gift was a third party Dance mat from the local cheap shop)....A big wedge of GC sales would have been young kids and their parents. RE4 was never going to sell to the whole GC demographic if you look at it that way.
  13. Wise move...Personally I wouldnt start touching any of it till the warranty dies even though leds are childs play....Then I would have to be pretty bored, On the subject of screwing up the sensors, I have a feeling they are more robust than than ppl trust judging by those early stories of wii mote damage.
  14. I wouldnt say there is anything difficult about the task if you are a dab hand with a soldering iron. Your a-level probably over qualifies you. The problems will come when the soldering iron tip is too big or heat is applied to the circuit board too long.
  15. Hehe, my student days are long gone......except for retaining the habit of using empty beer cans as ashtrays.
  16. Noodles FTW. That reminds me...Jaffa cakes: Biscuit or cake ?
  17. LMFAO....Cheers, those two posts have brightened up my day no end. Total Quality.
  18. "Each kit is enough for 1 remote with spare LEDs or 2 kits would be enough for 3 if no mistakes are made." Lol, this guy was obviously using precision soldering methods. Not.
  19. Yeah, not too keen here, but if you are happy with it, fair play. Personally if I was going for a customised design on the system I would get it airbrushed on.
  20. Disclaimer: 'Just to put the whole thing straight on my side....I have always bought games'. (possibly with exception to Ikaruga on the DC which I couldnt get no matter how much I tried. Bought it on GC though afterwards). No matter how much we say PS and Xbox Suffered from piracy, they stayed on the shelves for the duration of their lives. The GC which was at best awkward to do backups on did'nt. The Developing companies who would have been hit hard still chose to develop and support for the PS and Xbox systems...that alone throws a question mark above which systems were profitable to produce for. Then there is the old gem: Would the game have sold to the person who chose to play the copy in the first place ? Imho, the system the game is played on boosts the user base and is the one thing that makes the devs flock to it anyway.
  21. So the method of ripping disks has finally gone public. As it stands there is no way of making the Wii accept them yet, but its most likely just a matter of time before someone makes a mod-chip or boot system. In all honesty it never harmed the PS1 & 2 or Xbox, but im sure the whole subject could make a pretty heated debate. http://www.dailytech.com/Wii+Game+Backup+Method+Revealed/article5731c.htm
  22. Nah, thats not true in all cases, lifestyles are changing....I dont do TV (As most do) so that free's up a vast amount of time, I still get to the pub more times than are healthy, hold down a job and a relationship, go clubbing on the w/e's. It all depends on the commitments you set yourself. I always thought I would grow out of gaming.....Guess what ? It never happened.
  23. Shittin crikey..... What a sweet game idea....Wishful thinking on any platform although could be great with the wiimote.
  24. Dyson a name of quality....the name of the best vacuum cleaner I have ever bought .
  25. Let them join in..... Train hard (that should keep that nerd status in check).....then beat the living daylights out of them in multiplayer competition Btw...nice to see a gamer who is (almost) as old as myself.
