    • Virtual Pro Wrestling 2: Royal Road Succession   JP release: 28th January 2000 NA release: N/A PAL release: N/A Developer: Asmik Ace, AKI Publisher: Asmik Ace N64 Magazine Score: N/A If you’re a fan of AKI’s wrestling games on the N64 and don’t mind the lack of famous Western wrestlers (aside from a few unlockables like Andre the Giant), then Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 is something very much worth checking out. While the first just felt like a Japanese version of WCW vs. nWo: World Tour, this feels like an actual sequel to WWF Wrestlemania. In particular, the game engine has been made much smoother, with the game being extremely fluid, eliminating any jankiness from the previous games. There’s also a new grapple system, as each wrestler tries to overpower the other, and a ton of different modes. The create-a-wrestler has a lot more to it (especially if you like masks), and this is Aki’s biggest roster, although not many are licensed (although the unlicensed ones still have their signature moves, taunts, and their clothing is conveniently available in the edit mode). There’s a lot of different modes and features, including the Royal Road Succession (this game’s Road to Wrestlemania). These games aren’t personally my kind of thing, but if you do enjoy them, this one is well worth checking out and using a bit of Google Lens to navigate menus. Great Remake or remaster? A new call-back game to Aki’s would be good. Official ways to get the game. There is no official way to get Virtual Pro Wrestling 2
    • I find any more than 6 or so squats to be so boring I end up hating it.
    • So my leave is now officially over and I won't have the time or energy to exercise that much anymore. I got to 90 kg in back squat for 2*5 reps - then went down to 4*5 reps at 85 kg. After that I would do 12-15 reps at 70 kg which was awful, followed by some split squats to really feel the burn. I feel quite a lot stronger and a lot more tight in general and it sucks that I probably can't maintain this level of strength in the future.
    • Had my first day at work after a little more than 5 months off due to paternity leave. And whaddya know - they weren't ready for my return. My boss has known since August that I would return at about this time, and I told everybody at a department event on November 1st that I would return this week, and there is absolutely zero tasks waiting for me. I did some e-learning on GDPR to kill some time, talked to people and had lunch today, was there for 5 hours before getting home to pick up the children from day care and school. But tomorrow I'll be back at work at 9 am and don't know what to do. I was told I had to help make some changes to how our APIs work so that we can release new versions of those outside of "normal" (big) releases but our IT architect is not ready to talk about how we do that. So I'll have to take small tasks from here and there to spend the time. I find that a bit disappointing.
    • Started getting into the CV DLC last night. Damn! That music is so good. And the map is huge.
