Date went really well, we chatted a lot, held hands throughout most of the film and she kissed me on the cheek as she hugged me goodbye. We have a pub quiz in Wednesday and we're going on more dates.

Tears of joy were shed at this announcement at the Xbox briefing and that was just when I only knew it was coming to the Xbox One... ...finding out that it's coming to all platforms including the Switch, is definitely one of the highlights of E3 2018 so far for me. There used to be a time when Tales of Symphonia was my undisputed favourite and the GameCube version still remains one of the best in the series. But when it comes to Tales of Vesperia... I really enjoyed playing through the game originally when it came out on the Xbox 360 all those years ago, it was just pure magic. Part of me liked it being exclusive to the Xbox 360 platform at the time but the Tales of... series has changed a lot over the years, it's only right for it to shine brightly. I feel like it will shine brightest on Switch as well, obviously depending on how it's handled, you would think this would be an easy decision but knowing it's multiplatform... We shall see... if it ports well and it really should, then of course I'll be getting it on Switch but who knows... I may end up getting the Xbox One version instead of or as well as. This is all despite owning most Tales of... games on the either PS3 or PS4 as well, maybe I'll get all three in time... but I'd rather just buy it once and be happy. The allure of getting to play Tales of Vesperia complete with all the dlc, on a Nintendo platform, with the original GameCube controller I beat Tales of Symphonia with, is very strong. Anyway, in summary... you really need to play this fantastic game in the Tales of... series as it has some of the best characters, story and world I've even known in any JRPG.

There will always be games coming out for the PS4, so nothing will actually happen if not much gets shown later. It'll just mean that those games get shown another time, or the third parties will fill in the gap. I'm just watching (tomorrow, not live) because it's E3 and it's the thing to do, I suppose. There's not much riding on this conference, imo.

I don't think there's anything that could annoy me about Sony's conference. Honestly, my PS4 backlog is so big that they could skip E3 and I probably still would not have caught up by this time next year. For me, they can show anything tonight and everything will be gravy. Besides, Microsoft already showed me a bunch of games I'll be playing on my PS4.

No, and frankly I’d appreciate it if you didn’t bring happenings of that cesspool here and make me read it with my own eyes. That shit is just depressing.

Thoroughly enjoyable video there, @RedShell Still doesn't make me any happier with your uncanny knack of totally owning me with that insanely slow roller.

Wow, I didn't realise there was an Items mode. Looks mental! I definitely want to try that some time. Probably not tonight though. E3 to watch and all that. Anyway, here's one more highlight from my session with @Nicktendo and @RedShell. I would have posted it earlier, but inspiration struck @Dcubed and then, well...

After 34.5 hours I'm done with Battle Chasers: Nightwar, despite not being that into it. While I liked the combat and the characters, the world was boring, the enemies were a bit meh, and the story was generic and plain. But my biggest issue is simply that of speed. The game was exceptionally slow overall, not just loading and walking, but battles them selves dragged on forever, even against a single enemy. It was not until I got the final wepaons (that more than tripled my latest weapon!) that I could actually speed the battles up and kill enemies with just a few blows. It made me want to avoid battles even though I needed the XP - which is just based on the number of enemies and their level, not their difficulty which would be more relevant. It's not a bad game but it could do with a lot more polish and as it stands, I wouldn't recommend it for the price they are asking on Switch. Perhaps half that price would be better. Now I'll wait until Nintendo's E3 is over to see if there is an interesting shadow drop, otherwise I'll have to consider what to buy next. Thinking about Celeste, Mulaka, Old Man's Journey or The Banner Saga. Has The Sexu Brutale been updated yet?

Rocket League: Gibraltar Edition. Anyway, we need to get some Rumble games going the next time we play, it's a blast! The addition of power-ups (like being able to make the ball stick to your car, or kicking other players out of the way) is absolutely fantastic. And it turns the already unpredictable Rocket League into even more of a chaotic mess! Perfect for those that enjoy super crazy gameplay. Spiky car shenanigans: Assisted scoring: Think I'm going to be playing this mode almost exclusively from now on. Brilliant stuff.

Why would they announce what platforms the games were coming to? It was a Microsoft conference, they're not about to promote Playstation. Halo, Gears, Forza, Crackdown, Cuphead, Metro, Ori, We Happy Few... those aren't bad exclusives coming

One of my all time favourite JRPGs, let alone Tales games, personally rate it higher than Symphonia. The fact it's coming to the Switch was a wonderful surprise and will definitely be the version I will get, heck I may Double dip on PS4 and maybe even buy it on Steam when it goes on sale.

The Fallout game everyone was waiting for has been announced for the Switch. Yes, Fallout Shelter is available now for free on the eShop (and on PS4 for those interested). Not quite what many would want but there may still be hope of an announcement of the Fallout 3 remaster during Nintendo's presentation but I'm not seeing it happen. Don't see Bethesda letting Nintendo announce a multiplatform title, even with their good working relationship. I could be wrong though.

It was a good conference. I'm looking forward to playing most of the games on my PS4

I've just spent over half an hour searching for a dedicated Cyberpunk 2077 thread to update, but I couldn't find one (if there already is, please, by all means, delete/merge this thread), so I thought it best to start one in the event of its absence. Cyberpunk 2077 is an upcoming RPG developed and published by CD Projekt Red, whom are most well-known as the Polish developers and publishers of the The Witcher video game series. What we've seen so far: The game was initially announced in May 2012, before a teaser trailer was released on 10th January 2013 (which garnered a number of trailer awards). Some concept art images were also released alongside the trailer. What we know so far: The game is likely to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows. It will be playable in both first- and third-person perspectives. The game will feature both a single-player story and an online multiplayer component. The game is based on loosely on the Cyberpunk 2020 tabletop role-playing game, which was created by Mike Pondsmith. Pondsmith is consulting on the project. Marcin Przybyłowicz, the composer for The Witcher 3, was chosen to write the game's music. CD Projekt Red started upgrading its REDengine 3 game engine for the game around the time The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released; a funding application for the Polish government, granting CD Projekt Red $7 million (USD), confirmed the employment of the next iteration of said engine: the REDengine 4. The same funding application noted that the game's release could potentially take place in 2019. It will be set in an openworld metropolis called Night City, a fictional city located between San Francisco and Los Angeles. "Braindance", a digital recording device connected to the player character's brain, will enable the player character to experience the thoughts, emotions and muscle movements of other people (likely NPCs, but possibly even the player characters of other players) as if they were the character's own. The game will feature non-English speaking characters. If the player does not speak a character's language, they can purchase translator implants to improve their understanding of them, with translation quality depending on the quality of the translator implant (i.e. an expensive implant will translate much more accurately than a relatively cheaper one). During pre-production, approximately 50 staff were working on the game. As recent as last summer, around 550 staff were reportedly working on the game (compared to the peak staff volume of The Witcher 3 at 200). As of October 2017, CD Projekt Red co-founder Marcin Iwinski and studio head Adam Badowski revealed in a joint statement that the game was moving along as planned. In June 2017, CD Projekt Red published a statement explaining that data containing early designs had been stolen and threatened to be released to the public. The developer refused to comply with the ransom demand; the stolen data/ early designs have yet to be leaked. Now, onto why I wanted to update the relevant thread... Earlier this month, on January 10th (5 years to the day after the release of the game's teaser trailer), the game's official Twitter account posted for the first time since December 2013, after recently being verified. A few days later, on 15th January, Gry-Online - the largest gaming website in Poland (more-or-less their version of the US's Gamespot) - published an article revealing that they had received information from two separate sources about Cyberpunk 2077 being present at E3 this year (12th - 14th June), with both a trailer and gameplay footage to boot (The Witcher 3 was previously present at E3, so this wouldn't come as too much of a surprise). According to their sources, the game will likely appear as part of either Sony's or Microsoft's conference, though they stated that it is more likely to appear at the latter; their sources also stated that a playable demo will be available at E3 behind closed doors for industry journalists. They ended the article by stating that this information should all be taken with a grain of salt, as the game's presence at E3 could be subject to change depending on how the development of the game continues over the coming months. In the article's comments section, it was posited that the site's information is "bulls***", but interestingly, the website's editor-in-chief responded to the comment by telling them to "Save this page and come back here in June. We'll talk then." It's also worth noting that CD Projekt Red's co-founder - the aforementioned Marcin Iwinski - previously praised Bethesda's rollout of Fallout 4, saying that "We're impressed with Fallout 4's rollout. [Bethesda] came on stage and said, 'It's here, it's real, and it's coming out on this date.' We're going to do something similar. We're going to wait [to reveal Cyberpunk 2077] until we can show off a very meaningful piece of it." Granted, if the game is at this year's E3 then there's no guarantee that it will be released by the end of the year, but it's presence could certainly signify that it will be released within the following 12 months, given that the game has been in development for a number of years now.

Looks as epic as I thought it would. And you’ve gotta love how they handle PR and game development compared to everyone else, and it makes them stand out as one of the best studios out there. They’re scheduled to turn up on YouTube Live @ E3 tomorrow to talk to Geoff Keighley about the game, and they’ve teased that we’ll still hear/see plenty more at this E3. Behind-closed-doors demos as rumoured a while back are expected, but I won’t be at all surprised if we get the first public look at gameplay when they talk to Geoff tomorrow. Killer soundtrack, excellent cyberpunk design ethos...it’s a great time to be a gamer! I have a feeling it’ll be coming in late 2019/early 2020 now, seeing as we didn’t get a release date last night, but I don’t mind. Incredibly smart in making it clear that the game’s development is coming above their bottomline, and that the game is still a while off, and will be ready when it’s ready. Roll on our next look at the game!

Sony even blurred out an Xbox controller in one of their videos, which is hilariously petty. I don't blame Microsoft for not wanting to advertise a competitor.

Yeah, I’ll certainly be playing it some more (either on PS4, or later on Switch) to better understand the game, but after my initial experience with it (again, just the 1 match) Overwatch was pretty much the only thing I could think of. It does seem like a fun alternative though.
