I've finally started playing! Just beat the first three levels and had a big fat stupid grin on my face the whole time (literally couldn't stop smiling ) What a pure joy this game is! I waited 23 years for this and it absolutely hits the nail on the head! This is absolutely the SEGA Saturn Sonic we never got! It's so on point it hurts! And for those saying it does nothing new? What a bunch of bull! Even the remixed classic stages are loaded with fresh ideas, new never-before-seen gimmicks and gameplay we've never seen before in a Sonic game! (like the chemical mixing in Chemical Plant Zone and the ziplines in Green Hill) My biggest fear was that the old stages would just feel like re-treads, but that's absolutely not the case here! There's tons of new ideas that spice up and re-invent the classic stages, especially in Chemical Plant Zone (Oh and BTW, they were right. The end stage boss absolutely lives up to the hype! ) Speaking of which, I can't believe that every stage has a boss! Even Act 1! And the bosses themselves are absolutely outstanding! Some of the very best in the series for sure! The visuals are a perfect representation of what a Saturn Sonic game would've been like, right down to the low poly/low res 3D parts! I love it! And the new special stage is great! Right up there with blue spheres and the Sonic 2 ring tunnel! Oh, did I mention that the soundtrack is amazing? 'Cause it is! I've never been a fan of the Sonic CD soundtrack (US or JPN), but this takes all the good bits about it and uses it to craft something that sounds so perfectly 90s pop, yet perfectly Sonic. This is going on my iPhone soundtrack list for sure! The sheer love overflowing from this game just brings joy to my heart! I can't do justice to how happy it makes me to finally see it come to life! It's something very very special to any fan of the blue-blur's TRUE classics! A true successor to S3&K and Starfox SNES in the same year!? Pinch me I must be dreaming! Completely agreed. It's worthy of the hype and then some! I came in with sky high expectations and it has still blown me away! And it absolutely does bring plenty of new ideas to the table, fitting perfectly alongside the MD classics!

Well. It's about time I posted in this thread with sonething. Tuesday I went to London, with my parents and checked into the hospital at 7am. I met with my surgeon and the consultants ready for my surgery. At 11am I was wheeled away and the next thing I know I'm waking up in reocvery. Apparently it took 2 hours to do the surgery, however, due to a sigficant amount of blood loss my time in the recovery area was three hours. To say my mum was a little bit maniac was an understatement. The surgery itself was good. My fibroid was removed and it came to 6 inches long (the same size as the cut) I also had all my endometriosis removed and an ovarian cyst drained. If the cyst had been removed I'd have been left with a hysterectomy which I wasn't quite ready for. After Tuesday to Friday in the hospital I discharged myself (I spoke to my surgeon and nurses please do not worry I was given the ok to make the decision!) And I'm now back home with quite the horrific pictures! Glad for it to be finally over, in three months I will need a scan to see if more surgery is needed but otherwise I should hopefully never have to do this again

I somehow completely missed that Jak and Daxter were getting the PS2 PS4 rerelease treatment. I'm actually still lamenting that Sony decided to nix that specific category from the store and just mixing those games in with every else. I've never played the Jak games so I picked this up right away. Maybe one day I'll get the PS3 collection....and maybe one day I'll go back and finish the Ratchet and Clank collection... I'm still slowly plinking away at FFXII via my Vita currently. Which means I've neglected Pyre and Hellblade.... :/

Haha. Yeah, you really have to peg it to get that one. That power cell will always stick with me because it took me ages, back in the PS2 days, to figure out how to get it!

They'll be somewhere. Have you tried looking in the construction site where all the swing sticks are? There's some right near the top ( think there's 5 ) where you need to swing up at the peak of your jump and then swing across. Go into first person mode and have a gander at the high places with the swing sticks.

All the best nightwolf. I'm glad to hear that everything went well and here's to your hopefully swift recovery.

I've been playing 7 hours straight. I'm currently kicking around the second world at the moment. I got perfect in every stage before moving on to the next world. The challenges that you get to do are....well, challenging. Even the first one gave me a bit of trouble.

Yes the spoiler tag. Because so many of us would not have guessed you were drunk I only had a couple bloody Mary's last night myself.

I was too impatient to wait for Metal Slug X and so bought Metal Slug 2 instead. The slowdown is as bad as it's reputed to be, but I genuinely don't mind it as it makes the game a bit easier. Stylistically, it's a crazier game than the first one, but not as over the top as the third - it's weird, but not ultra-irritating. The bosses are my favourite from the three entries I've played so far, as they have sub-weapons you can attack, giving quite a lot more strategy to them. Overall, a very enjoyable game. I would recommend playing it if you enjoyed the first, with the caveat that you might still want to wait for Metal Slug X instead.

Yes likewise, I'm glad you've finally been able to have the surgery. Hope your recovery is swift.

My copy arrived from Simply Games. Crazy! It's not out until next Wednesday.

Both Simply Games and Shopto ( ordered from both in an attempt to get it early ) came through! That's my bank holiday sorted.

They should always be in spoiler tags anyway unless its a specifically named spoiler thread. Not fair on everyone else otherwise.

Of course it doesn't really do much new. That is the point! I disagree, its not overhyped. Read the feedback from the fans. This is the Sonic game we have been waiting for since S&K. I have all the emeralds now. To be honest I didn't think much to the UFO special stage. I much prefer the ones in the Mega Drive games.

I was surprised to see how much of the film wasn't scripted and how much was just entirely ad-lib. It's phenomenal how this was even accepted. I tried to watch this again a few weeks back and I still think the same thing. What damaged it's reputation even more, I thought, was the female cast going on talk shows trash-talking male fans calling them sexist because the main characters were women. Did they forget most horror movies include female heroes? Did they forget Star Wars where Rey was the lead? Alice in Resident Evil? Fact is, they just couldn't accept that people just thought it looked shit because of the story alone. Compare the CGI to the live-action Scooby Doo and they're so alike! Also, going back to the cast slating their fans and male audiences, did they forget or did not know that Janine, the original receptionist, a female, actually did a couple of Ghostbusting missions in The Real Ghostbusters and did they also forget about Kylie, a main ghostbuster in the series, also a female, in Extreme Ghostbusters? Have said it before and I'll say it again, just give me a live-action Extreme Ghostbusters, which would have actually made a perfect threequel considering it followed on. The unfortunate thing would be Egon

Yeah, it looked jittery when I was watching the stream but I thought it was just the stream itself. Still, there's plenty of time to fix it, I mean it's not coming until next year.

In a way it is. It's the second coming of 2D Sonic.

I think that's the appeal, at least it certainly was for me. For years we've had to put up with gimmicks being shoe horned into various Sonic games, so it was nice to finally take the series back to the basics, where most of us fell in love with the little blue hedgehog.

There's absolutely no denying that Red/Blue were incredibly important. It's basically the defining game of my and probably many other's childhood. But it's been improved on since then, quite a few times. My issue is not with the games themselves. Hell, I rebought Yellow on 3DS VC without a second thought the day it got released. My issue is the people who crave the same old 150 Pokemon over and over again. It's this attitude that they're the only important Pokemon so let's just focus on them. The attitude that I've seen a few people claim that Ultra Sun is only note worthy because they're might be an explorable Kanto, where before that possibility arose, they weren't interested. It's actually one of the things I think Pokken does well. Double Mewtwo and Pikachu aside (Hawlucha got robbed) it's got a nice mixture of Pokemon from all sorts of different games. And it's more interesting because of it.

This sounds like if an alien were to assess all the games side by side, at the same time, with no knowledge of provenance. There's so much history, charm and background to Gen 1. It's essentially what Pokémon is, while everything else has been an attempt to continue what was there.

Oh my god, Serebii is smiling in photos now! The Happiest Place on Earth has worked on him! Massively jealous too. Never been to the Cali one, and not been to Orlando since I was a kid. Desperate to get back over there!

Was home last week so obviously baby photos were brought out. Here's me, scared and confused about the world. I also think Microsoft might have stolen the Windows logo from that blanket.
