Goafer Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Went to the The Scirocco Register's national meet up today. I have never seen so many Scirocco's in one place (they're surprisingly rare. Less than 1,000 in the country IIRC). Plus it was held at RAF Cosford museum, which is awesome. It's the same place they used when James May made the full scale Airfix Kit, although I didn't get to see it. Did see some awesome planes though.
nightwolf Posted August 12, 2012 Author Posted August 12, 2012 That looks fantastic Goafer, you must have been in heaven. In the spirit of photos: I took a trip to the Empire State (next Rockafella): (the two towers in the middle of the photo - my apartment) Just chillin' (squinting because of the sun.) Definitely a sight to see! Very pretty.

Unfortunately this means prices are rising for decent ones. Plus my personal favourite, the Series 2 Storm, was limited anyway.
Fierce_LiNk Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Genuine lol moment. I'm watching the 2012 Olympics closing ceremony and now they're doing some hype-build-up to Rio. I tell Ine that I like Brazil and want to go and see the Carnival of Rio. "Only for the boobs, Jim." "No...I want to see the colours and lights and black people." "And the boobs." "What, woman? I'm not guaranteed boobs. It's not a carnival of boobs. You don't get boobs at a carnival." "..." "Ok...if I google it right now and type in "are there boobs at the carnival?" (just that, not even adding in Rio), nothing will come up." Type it in. Cry at the results. 3rd link was pretty much porn.
Retro_Link Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Well while we're posting photo's in here... Trip to the Olympic Park the other day; loved the place!

Good luck finding a Storm though, they are indeed pretty rare nowadays. It's worth looking over at The Scirocco Register for Scirocco talk/sales etc.
Frank Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 About to leave on a trip to Italy in a few minutes! I haven't slept at all, I'm knackered. See you all in 15 days! Looking forward to flying away, not looking forward to icky heat & becoming tanned
Shorty Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 I took a trip to the Empire State (next Rockafella):Did you go up on your own? (I did) I took pictures a lot like yours, but lost the camera, I have literally no proof I went there except an extremely obvious "I <3 NY" mug from the Walgreens on the ground floor.
mcj metroid Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Finally finished the artwork for my new song. When I start I get god damn possessed and won't stop. Now to suit up and head tonight Ha! I didn't even realise we weren't in an appropriate thread. That creates some funny situations sometimes when you erroneously identify a thread. Erm. Is anyone else seeing my video in mcj's post? Haha this is odd indeed. I had never tried using the HD tags before. This is what you should be seeing but now i felt like I'm overly promoting this haha.
nightwolf Posted August 13, 2012 Author Posted August 13, 2012 (edited) Did you go up on your own? (I did) I took pictures a lot like yours, but lost the camera, I have literally no proof I went there except an extremely obvious "I <3 NY" mug from the Walgreens on the ground floor. I went up with a friend who came to visit. It was ridiculous trying to get him to take a picture for me, so I used my phone for all the pictures (using the option to turn the camera round so I can see the screen). It was a lot easier and meant I didn't have randoms in my photo. I can see the empire state from my apartment, so it seemed daft to have been here 4 weeks and not gone. I'm off to Walmart today, that should be interesting in itself. EDIT: Just been kayaking on the Hudson. Highlight of my trip. Edited August 13, 2012 by nightwolf
Murr Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 I have 1 hour left of work, then I'm off for 16 days.... In Lanzarote w00p!
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 I just learned yesterday that a brilliant Danish young adult novel I read some years ago is being turned into a musical, and I've been listening to the amazing promo of the title track on repeat since then.
Fierce_LiNk Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I was at home, happily receiving my daily dosage of N-Europe, when the postman repeatedly rang the doorbell. There's somebody out front doing some gardening, so he probably thought I didn't hear him. There was a massive rush to try and find my trousers, because I wasn't really prepared to meet the postman in the state I was in. He happily hands over this big parcel to me. My initial thought was that this package was Ine's contact lenses, or something, as the last thing I ordered was a skipping rope...yesterday. No way could Amazon be that fast! Opened up the package, curiously. Inside was a Lego Darth Vader Alarm Clock, with a message from one of my best friends in Brighton, thanking me for our years of friendship. Very sweet. Wasn't expecting that!
gaggle64 Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Whoo man, I have been feeling wretched all day today. Bogged down, stuck in the mud, big weight on me, spent most of the afternoon face down on the floor but a bag of chocolate covered peanuts later and some Classic FM has put me into the most comfortable groove I've been in for weeks. I should get a couple of bags on standby from now on.
EddieColeslaw Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Got my laptop back from Dell this morning, it works! Flying to Dallas, TX on the 23rd. Meanwhile, I've been going to the cinema, art gallery, home, and on very long walks. Yay for no work/college!
Coolness Bears Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Today I got a new mouse that turns different neon colours slowly. Currently it's telling me to...Make soup? Good Stuff.
Charlie Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 It's friday evening already! IN YOUR FACE! I get to leave at 2:30 this afternoon because it's a retirement party
Ashley Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Wednesday was my Friday so in all your faces! Speaking of, Wednesday was my last day at work. The day itself was a crazy rush but then we had cake and wine. Then I had several ciders. Then a Jeagerbomb. Then a whiskey. We then went back to the office and may have caused some destruction... I am glad to be leaving the job but it'll be a shame to not see the people in the office as often.
Goafer Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Finished work a little early, so went in to town to get some more contact lenses and get some film developed. Rather happy with some of the photos:
Goafer Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 I normally do, but I picked up a really nice film camera from an antique shop a while back and I've been dabbling with it (I did film photography at college). Ideally, I'd like to get my own darkroom equipment, but I don't really have the space. I could process film quite easily, but making prints would need too much space.
Happenstance Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 @Goafer has also worked with water colours, painting directly onto the film
EEVILMURRAY Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 It's friday evening already! IN YOUR FACE! GOTTA GET DOWN ON FRIDAY! Although this means it's time to work for me. Only one hour until I start
Nolan Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 I CAUGHT A BABY SNAPPING TURTLE YESTERDAY! I was at work, a fucking oil refinery no less! Right outside out shop area though I spotted him in some dried mud, literally(Yes I do know the meaning of literally. I dropped a handful of band....well threw them maybe?) dropped what I was doing to scoop him up. Tried something odd with the photo, let me know if it doesn't work. Quote this post I'll see the notification more likely than checking back :/
