We've just started season 3.

I can see both sides of this. Do I get offended? Well, yes, and I have been in the past. But, the word "offended" has lost a lot of its meaning and power and is now thrown about far too often and lightly. It's almost the same with the term "bully". That's a horrible word and it's meant to have a very bad and negative meaning. But, by using it often and incorrectly, it loses its meaning. I have a big problem with people who get offended "for you". As in, if someone was to come up to my face and call me a "stupid paki bastard" (which I have been called in the past), that's directed at me and I should feel bad. When someone else gets more upset than you do about it, it's as if you can't even "own" the emotion. They're getting angry or upset for you. Over the years, I've found that I've known more white people to get offended over racist or xenophobic behaviour and such than I've known actual people of different backgrounds to get offended. Part of that is that you learn to develop thicker skin, I suppose. But, the other side of it is odd to me. I can't quite explain it. At the same time, the term "offended" has almost given people more of a licence to be more offensive or horrible to each other. It's like a safety blanket to hide behind when a person makes or are about to make a comment that they know is horrible, the get-out clause is something akin to "I don't care who it offends", or "she's always offended" or "it's PC gone mad!" But, this is all context based and it should always be given a context. Calling "black coffee" exactly that is fine. But, by taking offense with it, we're actually minimising the impact from some of the more serious cases. Also, nothing makes me laugh more than when people are afraid to use the word "black" or something to that effect. I fucking laugh every time I meet a new person and they try to guess where I'm from and how they tremble at using words like "Asian" or "Pakistani" or even "Welsh" occasionally! The ones who are so scared to say anything for fear of offense. Fuuuuck saaaake. I also find that strange and it makes me feel awkward immediately. Just use your brain. Think before you speak.

Just another great episode, I felt. Glued to the screen the entire time and one hour every Monday (or however long it is) really isn't enough for me.
-
I've watched a few games here and there and have quite enjoyed it. The pace in the games has been excellent and near enough every game has been end to end. It's quite refreshing to watch a tournament and know that neither team are just going to sit back and defend for over three quarters of the game. The Germany/Denmark game was excellent.

My arms (especially the forearms) feel like they're about to fall off or are made of mashed potato. Weight trained today and then did some gardening using the long-handled secateurs to get rid of some of the shitty look plant-tree stuff that we have growing here, pulling up roots and all sorts.

I'm interested to see how Cities: Skylines is going to play on the PS4. It runs on @Eenuh's MacBook, but it reaaaaaaally works it hard. I want to play more of it, but she obviously needs the MacBook for work and I doubt it'll run on my laptop. There's a ton of expansion packs that got released for it that I want to play, too.

If Klopp sells him early, then there is money there for transfers. The worst case scenario would be for Klopp to sell him with a few days to go before the window closes. Personally, I'd keep him. Is there anyone else on Liverpool's radar at the moment? Salah aside, I've not seen them linked to anyone, really. They've definitely been a lot quieter than a lot of their rivals. Everton have had a busier summer. (good signings, too)

Something as simple as a character change could help with that. I tried Genji and got absolutely nowhere with him. But, now I've found my "group" of characters that I rotate between. I jump between Zenyatta (amazing character), Zarya, Soldier 76, Mercy, Orisa and then sometimes Tracer. In that order usually. If you get the chance, give it a go again. I really rate it.

The TV money deals have probably contributed to this, too. Now that clubs know that there are teams that can afford these prices, they've just increased the prices. Everything is £20-£30million more expensive than it was a few seasons back. Spurs must have been laughing all the way to the bank with that one. But if City want the player, then they're going to have to pay the price. Not sure what will happen with Coutinho. Would be a huge loss for Liverpool if he leaves. Given that United, Chelsea, City and Arsenal have strengthened, it could be what costs them top four.
-
The prices have been inflated by everyone. Once a player like Sigurdsson was quoted as being £50 million or someone like Kyle Walker gets quoted as £45-50, then there's no going back really. If the Neymar value does turn out to be true, then I guess it just sets a whole new baseline for everyone. Insane numbers. We'll probably see the first billion-pound signing in our lifetime.

Man, I just read your posts again in the Overwatch thread and it sucks that you had a bad time with it. I've really enjoyed my time with it so far and it's turning into one of my top games of this generation. It's different to what else is out there currently and it feels like you're almost playing a different game each time you switch to a character that you don't usually go as. On the whole, the userbase are pretty good. I've only had a handful of negative experiences. If you ever get the chance to try it again, I hope that you do and I hope that you enjoy it. I'm ashamed that I didn't jump into it sooner.

There have been a few big transfers already, with a few more speculated to happen. First off, United have made a huge signing with Lukaku, who I'm excited to see next season. Could be a massive player for us. Morata at Chelsea and Lacazette at Arsenal are also going to be huge players, I feel. However, the biggest news has to be surrounding Neymar, surely? The speculation that he'll be going to PSG just doesn't seem to be going away and it's expected to happen sometime in the next week. Crazy.

That's really terrible, @nightwolf. Hope that you can get it done and over with soon.

Oh no! Was this the Germany game from last night? Heb je naar de Nederlandse wedstrijd gekeken?

Really happy about more The Wolf Among Us. It might be time to start Michonne and Season 3 today. It's there, waiting for me to play it. Can't be arsed doing anything strenuous today, so may just crack on with it.

It's quite interesting to see how we've all evolved since the early days.

That was in 2014, duuuuuude. I haven't touched our 3DS or WiiU in about 2 years. Haven't even bothered buying a Switch!

If anything, we're more likely to implement a pseudo-American system of healthcare than America is likely to have an NHS style system. The NHS is being starved of funds and I'm bracing myself for the day where we start seeing large chunks of it sold off to corporations and investors.

Happy birthday, Serebrah.

Let's get real for a moment, there was no way that Obama could have ever changed the way health insurance works in the way that you wanted or expected it to. You're not being realistic. Obamacare is as good as it gets with the way that things work currently. For things to not work this way, America would have to change it's entire medical industry overnight and dozens of corporations would go bust. There are too many people who wanted Obamacare to fail in the first place, could you imagine how many more there would have been if he had tried to change the market by moving it out of favour of corporations? It's deeply rooted into their culture and it will takes years, if not a decade, (maybe more) to weed out. Trump said a lot of things.

I don't think that there's been any hacks or DDoS attacks in months, has there? Certainly no noticeable downtime and I'm online very regularly. It sucks to pay more, obviously. The info mentioned earlier about "stacking subscriptions" is pretty useful, so we'll end up doing that, I imagine. Putting it into perspective myself, @Eenuh and I both go online through one PS+ subscription, and we both go online pretty much every night for Overwatch or for something or other. I'd say that we game just as much, if not more, than we watch tv. Whilst it sucks not to have the extra £10, paying it isn't going to dramatically worsen our lives. We play the PS+ games, so I'd say that we're getting the most out of it. Obviously, if you don't play online and don't want the extra games, then spend the money on something else.

Saw Dunkirk tonight. Was on the edge of my seat the entire time and felt tense all the way through. It had everything for me...beautiful cinematography, fantastic soundtrack, the set pieces were great, etc. They really nailed it with the running time, too. Could have easily walked out of the screen room and into the next viewing straight after. 10/10 for me. It's not your typical Hollywood depiction of war, either. Definitely had a "less is more" type of vibe going on with it.

Nothing Trump does anymore shocks me. However, there wasn't an awful lot of build-up to this, so the timing of it is quite odd. At this stage, Trump just seems to be going through a checklist of Obama-era policies and is reversing them one-by-one. This is quite a useful link that details the progress made under Obama and how it's being reversed under Trump. Clearly the costs involved are way under 1% of the total military budget, so it's not a reasonable argument to blame it on costs. I just wonder what happens next after this.

Pretty happy about this. I've been tempted by Just Cause 3 in the past, but never quite felt enough urge to put the money down for it. Looking forward to giving it a try.

You're succumbing to something called "confirmation bias" now, which is where you've got your own set of beliefs and have altered the findings of the report to suit your own beliefs. You just openly said you're not questioning it. Out of curiosity, I looked at the BBC report of the article and read the following: If there is something there, then further studies should be conducted to validate or invalidate it. That's true science. The second line of that line is a bit damning, however. It's not a representation of a population, only an extremely small sample. Again, I'd love to know what the numbers were pre-1970s and how the information was gathered. If we're going to talk science (which is what we are doing) then it needs to be looked at scientifically.
