Daaaaamn, that's all really tasty. I always wonder what kind of crazy gaming rooms that the people who collect these special editions have.

I've actually been following and participating in the ARG. I signed up to it and received the codes with that disc wheel decoder, which I then had to solve. It's been quite fun! I've followed that Twitch feed with the mouse-maze, too. I've not played the game since before the foundation update. I was really into the game, then got sidetracked by something else. The updates look great! I was planning to jump in after the second one, but then I heard that the third one was going to be a big addition, so I thought I'd wait. I still listen to the soundtrack on Spotify. One of the best "gaming" soundtracks ever, imo. It's pretty much just a new 65Days album, but it's so good and fits the game. Looking forward to seeing what exactly 1.3 is. Time to jump back in, I think.

The spoiler tag is the icon that looks like an eye. Click it, then add a heading. Then, just type into the box.

I remember these puzzles. They start off ok but then some of the latter ones are just a bit bleeeeeeerugh. If it's the one that I'm thinking of, I had to listen reeeeally hard before I got it.

Right, where to begin, eh? You're playing guitar to create and make music. That sounds obvious. So, you're going to need to learn the skills that will enable you to do so. Learn skills, not songs. If you learn how to play one song, that's good, but you'll only be able to play a limited selection. If you learn skills, you'll be able to play a huge range of songs in different styles. Then, you use those skills to learn other song. So, skills come first. Starting out is hard work. It's fucking repetitive, but so worth it when you stick to it. I'd start off by getting this app: Scales and Chords: Guitar Lite. I like it because it shows you the notes of a chord (e.g. it shows you where to play your fingers for a C Major and it also tells you which notes you are playing. In this case, CEG (or CEGCE if you're looking at all of the strings that you've fretted). You can then use the app to teach you all the variations of C. E.g. C Minor. The app also contains different forms of scales and the diagrams make it really clear to use. Truth is, you can find lots of other apps like it, too. There's a lot out there. Next, I bought this book. If the link doesn't work, it's for the chord wheel. It's extremely useful in teaching you how songs are formed and how to link chords together. It also teaches you about "keys". Brilliant resource. On reading music: I was never taught how to read music, so I've mostly stuck with tab throughout my time. I'm going to make an effort now to learn how to read music, because I feel that it may be useful. It's a completely different skillset though and it is essentially like learning another language. I've always found guitar tab very easy to read and I've never been in a position to "need" to learn how to read guitar music. Also, practise your barre chords. They can be especially frustrating and take a lot of time to get right. But, the benefits outweigh the negatives. I'm trying to get back into music. We're planning to convert the second/spare bedroom into a guest room/music room. Currently, my guitars are in there but I don't have any real space to practise without having to bring all of the equipment downstairs and then back up again when I've finished. When that room is sorted, I'm going to dedicate a bit of time each day trying to improve. There's tons of videos on youtube of people who can answer specific questions or who can show you how to play certain chords. It's down to your preferences with which ones you find useful. I've watched JustinGuitar before on YouTube and there's a fair bit of content there. Worth having a look at, for sure. With your chords, it's just going to take time, particularly with switching between each one and then also remembering the fingering positions. You will get better if you stick with it. Sometimes I used to just get the finger positions for a particular chord, strum and then remember what that chord sounded like. Each time I'd play that chord, I'd try and get it to sound identical each time, for consistency. I'd go reeeally slooow between two different chords and gradually build up the speed. Sometimes it can be suicidal trying to playing along to a song that you already know because the temptation there is to play it at full speed straight away, which can then lead to sloppiness and bad technique. Far better to go slow and then build it up.

I'll be 100% watching this due to how hilarious the first film was. Josh Brolin is a quality actor and I'm sure he'll look and be great in the final film.

The cage that I bought has been a superb purchase. Really can't fault it. Love being able to do lat pulldowns again and I've been using the pulley system for a lot of accessory work. Highly recommended if anyone here ever fancies going down the "home gym" route.

Looking forward to that a lot. One of the best games that I've played this year. Hope that they make more expansions/DLC for it as I really like the world that they've built.

I'm both delighted and amazed that Chelsea have sold Matic to us. We really needed someone whose sole job it was to just sit in front of the back four and do the messy jobs in midfield. A midfield of Matic, Herrera and Pogba looks fantastic to me. We've needed a player like this for years. Conte seems to be going for a smaller squad, for sure. It works if your best 11-15 players stay fit for the entire season. I'm not sure if Morata is going to work or not in his system. You could almost argue that both United and Chelsea have got their opposite club's ideal strikers.

We finished the show a few days ago:

Congratulations on becoming a Dad!

Well done to the Netherlands! Definitely the best team throughout the competition, imo. Denmark played really well and the game was even throughout. Just didn't quite have enough up front to get a third goal. Excellent game and competition. Sad that it's finished!
-
Yeah, it's been outstanding. I'm rooting for the Netherlands to win!

Great games yesterday, @Zell, @Shorty and @Daft. I couldn't work out the other person was as I don't have them added. @Eenuh and I were totally in awe of your high levels and superior skills. Normally, we switch our characters around every few games, but we stuck to what we knew best as we didn't want to let you guys down. That opening bit on Hanamura when we were defending was crazy. It was like a shooting gallery.
-
Might take a look at that later. Cheers, @Zell.

I woke up reasonably early (by weekend standards) today and couldn't get back to sleep, so just played moar Overwatch. We were attacking on Horizon Lunar Colony and took the first point fairly quickly thanks to me going Sombra and invis-ing my way into the point. That allowed others to then storm in. Pretty cool. We then got the second point onto the final notch and I thought it would be a doddle. But, the enemy held firm and we struggled as each minute went by. We were approaching the final minute and it was quite evident that if we didn't do something different, we'd lose. After such a great start, that would have been a shame. So, @Eenuh and I switched to the "dream team" of D.va and Mercy. She jumped into the point and all hell broke loose. Virtually all 12 players were in there. I held onto R2 for dear life and did a stuuuuupid amount of healing in one minute. I lost count of which ults were then used, but there were A LOT. Fucking chaos. With about 5 seconds to spare, we managed to do it. Insane final minute of a game.

I've started playing this and am really, really enjoying it. There have been plenty of occasions where I've been stuck and then the solution has come a bit later on. Very clever game. Not a fan of the "Tetris" puzzles, though.

I know it was inevitable, but Jordan Pickford is going to be a big miss. One of the only players of real quality in the squad. The season should be spent on rebuilding the club. Forget about promotion, just focus on rebuilding.

I fear for Sunderland because I don't see any fight or anything inspiring about them at all. The club lacks any character or personality. There will be a lot riding on them coming straight back up to the Premier League, but I can see them being in the wilderness for a few seasons. There's no willingness for the team to pull together and there's no real talent there that will pull them through a tough league. I can see them going down at the end of the season. It might even do them good.

I'm on summer break, but have quite a lot to do for September. I've been making good time, so I decided to not do much work today and have a day off. I played a bit of The Witness before lifting weights. It didn't turn out to be much of a day off as I contacted this company about ICT resources (a pretty big headache for me as we've got fuck all) Then, I received some phone calls from work about an event we've got coming up that everybody but me seemed to have forgotten about (whilst I was brushing my teeth after showering...trying to talk with toothpaste isn't sexy), then received an email reply from that other company about ICT stuff (received whilst I was on the phone) and have just spent an hour sending a pretty detailed email about planning and resources to one of my colleagues who panics a fair bit. I've achieved more today than I did yesterday, which was my on-day. How does that work?! Literally solved two problems whilst brushing my teeth. If you count the clean teeth, that's three things done in one go. I think...I think I'm winning! Edit: Almost forgot, also received a message this morning from a colleague about introducing and running a big project next year. Basically, more good news. So, that's about 4 or 5 things today. Yes. Definitely winning.

Nerves shouldn't be an issue, but they looked nervous tonight. I think the Netherlands being at home also helped massively. The second goal just put things beyond them and the Dutch were able to sit back and soak up the pressure. Think they'll win it now. A shame that this tournament is almost over, could easily watch it all again.
-
Nerves probably got the better of them. It's a huuuuge game. Although, I have to say that the Netherlands have looked pretty good throughout the tournament and looked the better team tonight. Just a bit more control to their game.
