  1. I wonder if I will ever see a cheapish copy of "Michigan Report From Hell" on the PS2? It's worth quite a bit of money now.
  2. The story of Chang and Eng Bunker is worth looking into as well.
  3. I enjoyed Killer 7 too although the story makes a bit more sense the second time you play it. Interested to see how 'Killer is dead' will play out when it gets released. This isn't a sequel but it does have Suda 51 behind it.
  4. I've already said what I wanted to say about Margaret Thatcher already so I don't need to say much more here. I remain neutral towards her and also to Tony Blair who was also someone who could have fitted into Dannyboy-the-Dane's earlier comments especially with the mess that we are still dealing with in the Middle East. We may blame her for things but I don't remember successive prime ministers/governments after her reversing her decisions which they could have done. I realise however that this is easier said than done. She was last in power back in 1990 and we need however difficult it is for some to move on. Someone recently said “…it is a mistake to allow her death to poison our minds”, so with that in mind let the funeral happen and by Thursday/Friday this week we will be talking and thinking about others things. Life is short and we should make the most of it while we can.
  5. Are people in South Korea upset because they never got the Forecast Channel on the Wii to begin with and are now upset because Nintendo intend to shut that channel down in June so they vent their anger at a previous weather presenter because it makes them feels better. Maybe This story is embarrassing for Nintendo and I hope that they find out who wrote the message on twitter soon.
  6. I think it's a bit early to shut some of these services down personally but when you consider that some of them have been running for years I guess Nintendo just wants to focus on the Wii U and 3DS. After June there isn't any way of removing some of the channels either which I think Nintendo should address but they won't because they are focused on other things. Sad really. When Mario Kart and other Wii online games stop running then that will be a sad day. Everything is temporary. 7. Unlike most people here I lived through all the Thatcher years so I don't need Wikipedia or YouTube to remind me about her. Even if you were born after the Thatcher years and live in the UK now then you all are living in the effects (both positive and negative) of her years in power. I remember her from taking away my milk when I was at Infant's school all the way up to the Poll tax riots. She is proof however that with hard work many things can be achieved and for 11 years the top two positions in the UK were run by women. Even today in parliament and elsewhere, women are still under represented but I hope that Thatcher did in some way show people that you could make it in a very male dominated arena. I wasn't a fan of her privatising many things in the UK and I still believe that the government whoever they are should be in control of basic utilities and services. I also believe that the trade unions that did stranglehold the country at times in the 70s were cut down too severely by her. Despite this her government along with Taoiseach Garret FitzGerald signed the Anglo Irish agreement back in 1985 which was a pre cursor, although a long way off to the Good Friday agreement so I thank her for that. It was sad to see her quality of life deteriorate in later life and despite her views and mine being quite different at times all I can say is R.I.P.
  8. A silver GBA SP for £2.99 (3 and a half Euros) in a charity shop yesterday. It came with a case and nothing else but still good bargain.
  9. Came here via a search engine trying to find a Nintendo gaming forum after having deciding to leave GameSpot and then later Giant bomb some years ago.
  10. See Location (<----)
  11. It's a day late because I was celebrating it yesterday but Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Daoibh! Happy (belated) St. Patrick's Day everyone! I enjoy celebrating St. Patrick's Day because it's part of my culture (I'm half N.Irish) but it's got too commericalised over the last few years. Just like most things now the meaning of the day has become lost but having said that without Guinness hijacking the event it wouldn't have got the global recognition that it has now. I just heard today from a Japanese friend in Japan who celebrated it yesterday for example. Next month is St. George's Day which is always a low key event and will always be dwarfed by the 17th March. Although Bombardier Beer and other English beers can step it up a bit.
  12. About a third of the music I listen to is Japanese and normally I dislike over produced bubble gum J-pop stuff but I'm secretly listening to 'Perfume'.
  13. I'm a fan of the Resident Evil series (although its waning a bit) and its interesting to see Resident Evil Revelations coming out to a wider audience. I'm still going to buy the 3DS version before buying it on the PS3. btw The first RE Outbreak game was average at best on the PS2 (my view however). Capcom removed online play and hard drive installation for the European version. It has one of the worse loading times on the PS2 (you need HD Loader) to get game playable or the patience of a saint to play that game. RE Outbreak File 2 was better however. Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City is probably the nearest you'll get to Outbreak online now and that was average at best too, sorry. I heard a rumour/rumor that Capcom are thinking of making Operation Raccoon City 2 which would be a disaster especially if they hold half the game back as DLC.
  14. I remember being a bit disappointed with RE2 on the GameCube when I bought it because it was the same game as I had played a few years before on the PC and not something like the RE remake. It's still a great game anyway and it was the first RE game of the series I ever played on PC but a quick turn feature or a few of the EX files put into the PS port on the cube, a slight graphics tweak for the cube... would have made it a bit special. I know a lot of people want to see this game come out again as a proper HD remake but I'm not sure that Capcom can really produce the game that 'everyone' wants. The series has changed mainly due to RE4 but I think at present Capcom can just make money on re-releasing old games on as many systems as they can right now. Anyway, after you play this game a bit more on the PSP, it would be interesting to know if it contains the Extreme Battle mode which the cube version has. I'll have to get back to playing this again. One day I will unlock Tofu!
  15. Can I add Jimmy Carr to that list?
  16. Agreed. Whilst it's nice that someone at Sony is a fan of classical languages like Latin with 'Orbis' and 'Vita', I don't think it always translates well into the gaming world. I would be happy with PS4 but then I would have been happy with PSP 2 as well.
  17. I wonder how much this new controller is going to cost? Personally, I think Sony should put some backing on it's Sony Vita line which looks to be doing worse than the PSP ever did right now and release the PS4 later on with an improved DS 3, but I guess they want to release it before the Xbox 720 (or whatever it's called) comes out. PS - I still don't like the 'Orbis' name.
  18. Several years ago he wrote in a newspaper about life and it was very inspirational and positive. It made me change my opinion about him and I liked him ever since. Yes he was opinionated (and I didn't agree with everything he said) but he was true to himself which can't be said for many people. R.I.P!
  19. Life is happening when I'm not on the Internet either that or I am playing video games offline. I don't have fast enough Internet where I live (partly on purpose) so I can't do online gaming very much or watch youtube videos either. I'm not fussed about this. If I look at what I did on the Internet last year most of it was a waste of time. Most interesting things happen offline. Life is about balance and about being happy or at least trying to get happiness in your life. If you enjoy going online a lot that's fine but it shouldn't be at the expense of everything else.
  20. Shame that Capcom won't think to release this game on a physical disc alongside a download option to get this game. (unless you live in Japan) It's the way Capcom are going these days....
  21. I'm not hyped about the Wii U at the moment for three reasons- I don't have too money for it right now. I'd like to see what the console can do before I pass judgement. I've got too many games to play before I'd buy it. Of course I will get a Wii U in the future but I can wait until the price drops. I intend to buy a 3DS before anyway.
  22. I just don't want Nintendo to get stucked into the foggy mess that Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers are in right now. There's a slow but gradual move towards more online game play where the single player is slowly being erased or played down. Where a game isn't a game without a patch or DLC bolted onto a game or worse still features removed or keys added that have to be downloaded at an extra cost in order to enjoy the game that everyone else is enjoying. Currrently, I can play a game on my wii without any worries but with my PS3, sometimes I feel I'm not getting the whole story.
  23. Hurry up Channel 5! I don't know what everyone else is talking about.....
  24. I understand the reasons behind region locking but I don't like it very much. As a European there are games that I missed out on because they were released in other regions but not my one. Personally, there are some Japanese games that I would like to buy and play but they won't be coming out at all. It's not as if I have a major problem with the language either. Anyway, if a game is going to come out then I don't mind waiting for it to come out but when you consider that some games are moving to an online/download presence, why does Nintendo have a difference in the amount of e-shop games between the 3 main regions across the world or more precisely between NA and the EU? When games get delayed and released later to due European laws and differences between European countries, translations etc.. what I find strange is that there is often no change in US English to British English. It's such a minor, minor point but if you are going to spend time fixing things up for Europe at least get your English sorted out for us over the other side of the pond. Also if you are going to translate things at least do a decent job and go beyond just French, Spanish and Italian (if there is a demand at least in the instructions). Disc sizes are also bigger now to handle more languages at least on a text level basis. I'd like also to see this happen in North America as well beyond just English. I've heard stories of people from North America importing European versions because they are in French, Spanish and not just in the instructions. I want to see Nintendo be completely honest and tell it's customers why they are region locking a system rather than the Wii U will be region locked and leave it at that.

    Fallout 3

I used to love that old 'time sponge' which was Fallout 3 on the PS3 but it was buggy at times especially the DLC stuff. I swear that Fallout 3 helped to totally screw up my old PS3. I've got New Vegas (same game engine as before) but didn't play too much of it for fear of the game messing up my PS3 slim.
