Zechs Merquise Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 I've seen quite a lot of people posting about the inflated prices of games in some stores, so I thought I would create a dedicated bargains thread for Wii U games. I'll start everyone off with some genuinely great deals: Assassins Creed 3 - £14.98 at Zavvi: http://www.zavvi.com/games-wii-u/assassin-s-creed-3-wii-u/10481351.html Batman Arkham City - £14.99 at Base: http://www.base.com/buy/product/batman-arkham-city-armored-edition-wii-u/dgc-batcitywiiu.htm Darksiders 2 - £14.98 at Zavvi: http://www.zavvi.com/games-wii-u/darksiders-2-wii-u/10481347.html Need For Speed: Most Wanted U - £17.99 at Base: http://www.base.com/buy/product/need-for-speed-most-wanted-wii-u/dgc-nfsmwwiiu.htm Zombi U - £12.99 at Base: http://www.base.com/buy/product/zombiu-wii-u/dgc-zombiu.htm All under £20, all very good games!

Tamazoid Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Thanks for the heads up, seems that Base ships to Australia for quite cheap.

Clownferret Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Apparently Waitrose have the Wii U cheap in store at the moment. £199 for Premium and £149 for basic. i really don't get all this drop the price nonsense. £199 for the premium console with a game is a bloody steal. There are so many great bargains to be had with the Wii U at the moment it's ridiculous.

There are so many great bargains to be had with the Wii U at the moment it's ridiculous. Until its the prices are the same everywhere across the board, the calls for a price drop are warranted. Cheaper at select places won't make nearly enough of a difference to sales. It needs to be that cheap everywhere for it to really start selling.

Zechs Merquise Posted September 6, 2013 Author Posted September 6, 2013 Deals at Tesco today: Batman Arkham City: £10 Sports Connection: £10
ReZourceman Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 Does anyone know of the best/cheapest place online to get a Wii U at the moment? Ultra-mega-super-fortunately I have come into three separate sums of money this month, and a star of the month bonus from work, so instead of super-skint due to £400 overdrawn, I am now finding myself with enough money to purchase a Wii U, which I need for Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze. I picked up Sonic Racing Transformed from Tesco, that £10 bargain that has been circulating online. Very lucky actually....I searched for it specifically in the gaming section, found very few Wii U games (LEGO City, Just Dance, Fifa and Pikmin) and they were all scattered about randomly. Then by coincidence it was sitting on its own, just the one copy on the bottom shelf of an aisle-end display. No price listed, so I checked with the guy and did a *clenched fish motion down* "Yes!" at his response. Yeah. So where da bargain for da Premmo Console online?

You can get the Zelda WW edition from GAME for the same price as with Zavvi if you enter the code CLOUDSEPT13 or GAMEPAL. Probably better to order from GAME. The Wii U premium on its own can also apparently be found for £198 in Costco stores, and £199 in Waitrose Food and Home stores. Could be region specific with those though.
Retro_Link Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 @ReZourceman there is also a Lego City version of that Zavvi bundle.
ReZourceman Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 Dang, 18th October. I need dat shit sooner. Also, I didn't even know Waitrose did food and home stores until hearing about cheap Wii Us in them. Isn't a home version of Waitrose just John Lewis? Lulz. I am trying to ascertain if Claire's mum gets discount at Tesco direct. Someone here works at Tesco but I cannot remember who it is....is it Josh? Do you get a boxed version of Nintendo Land?

Unlikely that there will be staff discount for items that are already on promotion. No place I've ever worked has allowed you to do that.

It's not on promotion though, looks like it will be the best place I think. I'm getting an itchy trigger finger, so (having checked I think Tesco employees do get Direct discount), I just need to obtain the number and see if it spits it out as the names/etc won't match.

Correct, we do get discount on Tesco direct... so long as you order it on the account of whoever is the employee - I really don't think it would allow you to register the same discount card on more than one account - assuming they have registered their card for use online then that should be fine. I definitely wouldn't advise trying to add the discount card to your own account though, the card could get withdrawn if the company suspects that it's being misused.
SirToastaLot Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Some EA title bargains @ Base.com: Need for Speed: Most Wanted - £14.99 http://www.base.com/buy/product/need-for-speed-most-wanted-wii-u/dgc-nfsmwwiiu.htm Mass Effect 3: Special Edition - £14.99 http://www.base.com/buy/product/mass-effect-special-edition-wii-u/dgc-mesewiiu.htm Use the voucher/promo "DVD-BASE" code to knock 10% off. Works out at £13.49 per game (if the vouchers works for you)! NFS:MW is £14.98 at Zavvi. It might interest those who have a personalised voucher for that site.
