Took nearly 3 months, but finally got the electric meter changed in the flat from a token to a standard credit one.  3 months of back and forth phone calls, emails etc.  The electric company were adament in making sure we'd clear the debt of the property (wasn't our debt, but as i found out from the landlord it was building up without his knowledge as the last tenants vacated without telling him (so lots of debt built up including unpaid rent, gas and water))

The gas and water were the easy ones, it was the electric that proved hard.  They went from trying to charge us nearly £300 to clear the debt to £100 "admin fee".  Between me and the landlord (and an ombudsman) we got the fee down to zero.  They removed the meter yesterday, so now we can shop around for a better supplier (we were on a tariff that allows us to change (both gas and electric, we're not tied to a contract on either))

Ordered a ticket to see Muse next year in Cologne.
100€ was a bit steep but hey...it's my favourite band and this will be the first time I'll see a band in a stadium. And it's fucking Muse, you know they will deliver. Can't wait [emoji3]

Going to see Nothing But Thieves live tonight. Looks like it's gonna be a good day [emoji4]
Muse always deliver. Is this the first time you've seen them live? It just first time in a stadium?

Will be my fifth time seeing them, first time in a stadium.

Well, technically I've seen them in a stadium already but that was part of a "festival" and it didn't use the entirety of the stadium. This will be my first full on stadium show :peace:

Edit: Let me just use the word "stadium" again.

So I've got a guy in here putting down a floor in my bathroom. Hes been spraying this glue down and i've been breathing in these fumes for a while.

I'm starting to feel things....nice things. Kinda dizzy or light headed. And a strange sensation of extacy.

Had a lovely day.

Took half a day off from work to help the ladies who move away ( :( ) repaint their flat. Was a lot of fun. The best birthday I've had in years :)

Now I'm back home and will just binge watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine until I fall asleep :D

Finally decided to stop putting it off and start saving for and planning a trip to Japan. It's something I've wanted to do for years but never really wanted to go on my own. Figured though that if I don't do it soon, alone or not, then I'll probably never do it.

I expect it'll most likely be late next year, probably October but I think that gives me a good amount of time to get over a load of hangups I probably still have, save up a nice sum of money to make it an amazing trip without having to sacrifice events this year that I want to go to and to also attempt to learn at least some Japanese to help me while I'm there.

Given how down I've felt lately, having something like this to start working towards has really given me a boost.

Yes!

Man going to Tokyo was STRESSFUL for me to organise for my partner last year, but its so ridiculously great. I really wish I had pushed to get us more time over there and explore more, but maybe next time.

I also wish I had spent more time in Japan when I went there. It was defo my favourite place on my trip; just so weird at every turn.

I would say two at least because the travel takes up pretty much a whole day.

I've done my tax return nearly 3 weeks early like a god damn adult!

I'd agree, 4 or so days in Tokyo was enough for us, I wish we'd done another week for other places.

We spent the last 3-4 hours deep cleaning the house. Why is this a good thing you ask? Because the house is CLEAN and my partner helped me do it, so it hasn't taken a fucking week for me to do. Phew.

I was originally just planning on going for the one week but you guys have me thinking about two now!

I went to Japan for a week (to Kyoto and Nara) and I recommend going for longer especially when you factor in the flight there and back as Ashley has already said. I went direct from the UK to Japan non stop but if you have to change then that eats up time as well. Hope you have a good time over there! :)

Even so some basic Japanese is always useful.
