2010 : What Are You Excited About?

ReZourceman

Recommended Posts

Life: I intend to spend the next year getting older, as the trend seems to be me slowly getting happier as the days roll by.

Events: World Cup and the F1 season, my sisters graduation. Bookies' given me 9-1 on England, 11/2 on Button and 4-1 that somebody falls over collecting their diploma.

Friends/Relationships: This year SHALL be the year I finally convince Martinist to confess his undying love for me. *fingers crossed*

Places: I hope to make an Escape to London, which is predicted to be a bit like Escape from LA starring Kurt Russel, except backwards and with more car chase sequences involving urban voodoo preachers.

Entertainment: Your mother.

First and foremost, the conclusion of the 2009/10 football season, the world cup and the beginning of the 2010/11 season - hopefully with Aston Villa in the Champions League.

I'm looking forward to being more active with Glans, recording more music and playing more gigs, as well as getting back into making films. I'm all but kicked out of university and I feel dreadful, i've pretty much been in bed for two weeks confused about what to do, so I'm looking forward to what the future holds.

Hopefully my life will be less of a mess next year.

Life

Events

2009 was a year of failed events, a year of broken promises and misery. Next year I want to be in a position where I'm not too busy self-loathing myself to the bottom of a bottle, and not self-conscious when socialising.

So I guess 2010 should be the year I graduate...

Friends/Relationships

To be a better friend. Not put myself in the position where I've double-booked, or forget that I've promised to be somewhere.

Places

I wanted to go to europe this year, canada next year, australia the year after. Unfortunately I doubt I'll get a holiday at all. I will try to do 'the rounds' and visit my friends across the homeland though; Isle of Wight, Newcastle, Manchester, Wales.

By the end of the year I want to be living away from home, and I am anticipating a ballsy, ridiculous plan that will look like The Young Ones meets Withnail & I.

Entertainment

Perfect Dark XBLA to play, Lost to obsess over and The Road for the cinema.

Work

I'd like to continue working with the people I do, but only for a couple of shifts a week so I can concentrate on my studies, then maybe transfer down to a Brighton store after uni in an attempt to clear some debts by living at home with me mum. Perhaps I'll get back to writin]]g again, and work on that life dream :P

Uni

I want to start living in the library.

... It's odd how shaped I envision the future, yet the tassles are frayed and the buttons fit to burst. I've built a nice house of cards out of these iterations of Future Me that are going to be forced into being simply due to the Elements Of Life that are Out Of My Control. Fingers crossed I get something seminal to lift me up.

Might get a dog.

Events:

Well, we should (fingers crossed) be moving into our new home mid-to-late next year. First we have to save enough cash to ensure we have everything we need - this apartment is brand spanking new and doesn't have interior doors or even a floor, so it'll be quite expensive. But it's Mr and Mrs Iun's home together, so that's nice :)

Entertainment:

Iron Man 2. I hired the whole of a small cinema here for me and a few other people to watcdh the first one, and while I can't afford that again, I'm going to be first in line to see it. Which reminds me, I have the largest collection in the world of pre-movie Iron Man action figures. I'm considering a sale, if anyone is interested.

I'm not sure really. Half way through next year i will have to make a big decsion - do i go home to England or stay on another year teaching in China. It's a question me and my grilfriend toy with often, but it keeps nagging us. Quite frankly, we dont know what there is to go back to. Apart from family =/

So who knows. I may end up staying out here, or i may go home and be completely lost on what to do with my life for a while. My hope is to pursue a career in videogame PR, but being in China has made me lose touch with my contacts.

Events

Chinese Spring Festival!!! Seriously cant wait to see how it goes down. Also the Winter festival if we get up there to see it. Should be amazing. They have giant ice-sculptures and snowy goodness.

Friends/Relationships

I'm looking forward to making new friends. I'm always looking and chatting to my students and have a few really cool people as friends already, but it takes time weening out the ones who cant speak English very well, or cant play any sports, which is one of the main things to do out here.

As for the love life, i'm just playing it by ear. Me and my girlfriend have always had a rocky relationship. I cant believe we've survived travelling sout-east-asia and teaching in China snce June, but we have. There is an element of, "ill stay with the other person because i have to and it makes it easier" sometimes when we argue, so i dont know what will happen next year. Marriage still seems a good way off for us even though we have been together for 5 years.

Places

Most of China as we'll be doing our travelling. Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen are obvious places i am looking forward to, but we will see more places as we go.

I also have a free stay at the Disneyland Hotel in Paris to cash in before the year is out. They offered me it a few years ago when we stayed in a Disney hotel and my girlfriend was mauled by bedbugs, so we should really try and get over there to enjoy that. I've always wondered what the big hotel is like inside.

Entertainment

If i do go home next year, then i will look forward to using my HDTV again and playing my consoles. There will be a year's worth of games that i will have missed out on, so i will have lots to choose from!

I really want to see Iron Man 2 and Alice In Wonderland too, along with my regular TV shows.

Hopefully I'll finally have time to sit down and learn Objective C (And start developing iPhone apps).

Besides that, I'll probably get my driver's license at some point next year.

Once my exams are finished at the end of january, I'll have more time, as I have a light semester next, so I'll probably look for a job.

Events

Nothing really. If events that I'll only be reading about/watching online count, I suppose I'll say E3.

Friends/Relationships

I suppose I can have hope...

Places

No travel plans at the moment.

Entertainment

Bad Company 2

Metroid Other M

Mario Galaxy 2

Zelda Wii

MOH

And others that I'm sure I'm forgetting about.

Oh, and I hope to get into a Union job and finally start a real career rather than a job.

Life

I'm hoping to get a job! Also, I hope I can do some more weight loss as I keep on yo-yoing and I don't know how. Also, I don't know yet, but I'm kind of wondering when I get a job, if I have enough time to do a Performing Arts course in college. I doubt I will but hey, I can dream, right? :p

One more thing, would also like to find love in 2010 so hopefully one of the above will come true for me. :)

Events

Uh, events? Hmm...I can't think of anything. Probably would go to Drayton Manor with my mates. We used to do it every year on the same day but the tradition broke two years ago. Shame, really. :(

Friends/Relationships

I have a lot of friends so I'm alright in that department but as for relationships, I would love to find love as stated above. I've been single since March. My last relationship never ended so well but I've learned quite a few things from it. I would like to find someone who doesn't have so much in common with me as it's not a good idea to be with someone who's exactly like you, haha.

Places

None tbh. I can't think...

Entertainment

Movies: Harry Potter, The Princess and the Frog, Toy Story 3, A Nightmare on Elm Street

Games: Mario Galaxy 2, DC vs. Marvel Superhero Brawl, Jedi Saga...

Life

The job side of it is steady and going well, so next year I really have to sort out the social side. I barely know anyone in the area, or where to go to meet people.

Edit: Oh, and to move out of my Grans house into a rented property. Preferably one that will let me have a cat.

Entertainment

Perfect Dark, Mass Effect, Bioshock, V, Stargate. I haven't really looked that far ahead - enough is happening/coming out now.

Life

Finally getting a better job I'm bloody sick of my current job, and my degree is going to waste, I'm deffinitely going to be looking for a new one as hard as possible next year!

Places/Events

RAMMSTEIN! It's been about 4 years since I last saw them live, and they're my all-time favourite band. I can't bloody wait! :D I think thier latest album might be thier last one, and this could be one of thier last tours, so I must see them whilst there's still time, and as much as possible.

Muse at Wembley Stadium (maybe) I haven't got a ticket yet, but I'll deffinitely be buying one after Christmas, if there's any left. My second favourite band, and they put on an excellent gig in Birmingham this year, so my hopes are high.

Festival(s) There's too many festivals that I want to go to, but I'm deffinitely going to at least one. The most likely looking ones for me are Rock am Ring and Sonisphere atm, due to Rammstein headlining both. I'm considering Download.

Other gigs The Birthday Massacre, Emilie Autumn and Lacuna Coil are just some of the bands I hope to see next year. I usually go to tons of gigs, so the ones mentioned are likely.

Parents going away My parents are planning to go away for a week next year, which means I'll have a free house. Huge party FTW!! :D

Friends/Relationships

Spending more time with my gf! I recentley got into another relationship, and I couldn't be any happier! :) Although due to her having college, her Mom being a tad strict, and my stupid hours at work, we don't see each other as much as we want. However, she turns 18 next year, and her Mom says she can do whatever she wants once that happens, plus I'll get my hours sorted with work. So it'll all be good hopefully. :)

Entertainment

Black Mesa mod and Half-Life 2: Episode 3 Next year's got to be the year for these to be released, it just has to be!

Gaming Alan Wake, Bayonetta, Bioshock 2, Command & Conquer 4, E3 2010, plus hopefully getting my idea for a HL2 mod actually started.

Albums The Birthday Massacre, Emilie Autumn

2010 is shaping up to be a promising year!

Life

At the moment, there are many good things that are going on in my life, and a few things I want to work on. I don't get out of the house as much as I want to, and I really want to see my friends a bit more. The trouble is that friends are working lots, and then my friends in Brighton are quite a bit far away. It's costing me about 100+ and 5 days of travelling to see them all.

Money is a bit tight, but the situation is getting better. I want to have my overdraft cleared by March, so that I can start putting some savings together. At the moment, I'm so, so close to being....halfway there. But, work in the last month has been really quiet, so I haven't made as much progress as I wanted to.

I'm absolutely loving working out at the moment, so I'm going to be carrying on with that. I've got my own goal with regards to that. Next year I want to be bigger, stronger, and I think a bit tougher mentally and physically. I definitely see a difference in that respect compared to a year ago, so I just hope it continues. :heh:

Events

There's not a lot I can see in this category. I really enjoyed seeing Massive Attack and Novastar (Belgian Music Artist) with Ine, so I hope we can see more bands and stuff together. :)

I'm really looking forward to the World Cup starting, and also I want to see United do well at the end of this season and the start of the next. :)

Friends/Relationships

Things are going well with Ine, and we're spending our second Christmas together soon, wohoo. I don't think she had a guy ever there in person when it was her birthday, but she did last year. So, I hope it's the start of many "firsts" for us. Hopefully we'll be together on Valentines Day.

At the moment, it averages out about once every 6 weeks we see each other, which is pretty good considering the distance. Having work coming in means I don't have to worry about money when I plan on seeing her, which is one less thing to worry about. I think it's still early days for us, we've only been together a year, so it'll be good for us to spend as much time together, keep getting to know each other, and just enjoying things as they come.

Places and Entertainment

There's not an awful lot I can say for these two at the moment. I'm looking forward to No More Heroes 2 and Super Mario Galaxy 2, and probably one or two others. But, these are the main two at the moment.

Work

Perhaps the biggest thing that I need at the moment is a permanent post as a Teacher. The supply work is coming through pretty regularly, bar the last month. But, my main goal is to get that damn job. Once I get that, then I can get my Newly Qualified Teacher Year done. Also, this will also mean I can probably afford to get a place of my own, and hopefully a few things will fall into place. At the moment, this is the biggest piece of the Jigsaw that I am missing. It may mean that I need to move away from home in search of permanent work, as Wales is pretty crap for teachers at the moment. Too many applicants, not enough jobs.

Get a good job/ Move out (to London, I hope)/ Find somebody to love/ Go out more/ Lose weight/ Have a holiday/ Go to more gigs.

READ MORE. I love it and don't make the time as it is. (I find knowledge so attractive and I feel like if anyone's attracted to me it's because I make them laugh or they like my face, I want them to be stunned by my use of random facts ;))

More like resolutions, I guess.

Dogs are awesome, easier to be friendly with compared to cats.

It reminds me that I want a bunny, but I can't have pets in my flat. Grr.

I dunno. The cat is my BFF at the moment :p

But I love all animals. If I had the land and time I'd have my own Noah's ark. Sans ark. And hopefully sans flood...

I actually have no plans for the future/2010. I don't think about what I'm doing beyond a day at the most and even then it's a rough outline. :)

I'll just keep doing what I do best, going through life with fun and laughs along the way, as that is the most important thing! As long as I can make other people happy, I'm happy.

I have no idea where I'm going or what I'm doing and that is part of the adventure! :D People are too focused on ideals and where they want to be. Ultimately plans don't often work out so if have no plans then they cannot fall apart so if my life takes a different course, I'll have no regrets, I don't do regrets. They just bog the mind down unnecessarily!

Actually I'm looking forward to watch the world change around me.

*lives in his own magical cartoon world*

Entertainment wise I'mma go with Toy Story 3 as it's like my childhood reaching a conclusion and that's all I can remember at the moment.

The rest shall be a pleasant surprise! :yay:
