jayseven Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 It's a month to go, so it counts as a valid thread. This year, if asked, I will be asking for; A bedside lamp iPod speaker docks Left 4 Dead 2 A chair I'm not sure what to get my family either. Just getting the necessary gifts, so that's 5. Must avoid DVDs.
Happenstance Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Not asking for anything specific this year, will just be happy with a couple of trades I think
danny Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Im just happy that i will be getting a xmas this year (unlike last year) and wont be on op certain death. The rest will be a bonus.

Mr_Odwin Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 From any part of my family I would be particularly happy with: HDD media player (dedicated solution rather than the laptop) Marvel Comics Online Subscription (To read at work - sshhhh don't tell) Ties (for church) Clothes Vouchers (Next, H&M & Threadless) Invincible Comics (Need advice on where to start with this please! Comic thread says it is amazing so I thought I'd give it a try.) The new Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy book (May well make me sad but I may like it) iTunes vouchers
Iun Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Jeez... no Christmas in China, though Mrs Iun and I are going to go to England for her to meet my parents for the first time. Naturally, my family is pretty unconcerned with what to get us/me/her. But if I were asked, I would certainly like: Wine Gums. As many bags as possible. Can't get them in Shanghai Options Belgian Chocolate Flavour. Again, as many jars as possible. A subscription to Private Eye. A new pair of gym shoes, preferably Nike. Some new jeans that fit. Unremarkable, I know...
nightwolf Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 I always find myself feeling like I'm incredibly spoilt when I ask for lots of things for christmas, but here goes.. Camera Modern Warfare 2 Next perfume Assassins creed 2 Vouchers (Republic, river island) Creative zen Holiday money.
Shorty Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Invincible Comics (Need advice on where to start with this please! Comic thread says it is amazing so I thought I'd give it a try.) The first hardback ultimate collection. Best value for money, best presentation: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Invincible-Ultimate-Collection-Cory-Walker/dp/158240500X/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1259147903&sr=8-3 My list... erm... well I also have my birthday coming up. Assassin's Creed 2 Smallville Season 8 box set Cordless phone GAME vouchers so I can buy ME2 when it comes out shortly after Christmas ...can't think of anything else :/
Coolness Bears Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 I've got mine! I haven't asked for anything else. But I do want:
Eenuh Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 From my family I'll probably just ask for Zelda: Spirit Tracks, two CDs, and maybe some vouchers for art supplies or something. So yeah not expecting much. =P And Jim will have to figure out on his own what else he could get me haha. (I've already purchased his presents yay.)
Retro_Link Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Star Trek DVD, Jeans maybe (or other item/s of clothing) and that's about it really! I'm easy this year.
Daft Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 World peace. ...and for a massive computer error that removes my student debt and means I don't have to pay tuition fees ever again.
Cube Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 I haven't actually thought about it. I've gotten most stuff that I want myself. I'm concentrating more on getting stuff for my family this year. I've never been able to afford anything decent before this year. I think I may ask for Pirate Latitudes by Micheal Crichton.
EEVILMURRAY Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 The first hardback ultimate collection. Best value for money, best presentation:http://www.amazon.co.uk/Invincible-Ultimate-Collection-Cory-Walker/dp/158240500X/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1259147903&sr=8-3 It's just a shame it blows
Ashley Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 My mother keeps asking me this, but then I know she has no money so I feel guilty. May ask for some art supplies. A Maya-based book and maybe one of Ine's shirts (as in one designed by her, not one from her personal wardrobe ). S'all I can think of at the moment. Apparently my father is getting me just money. No generic gift like chocolates or aftershave that would require some effort or thought. Just, presumably, a £20 note.
Raining_again Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 We've all decided to have a budget this year for christmas, we are spending around the £60 mark for each person in the family. I just threw down some sub-£15 DS games, yankee candles (to fuel my addiction), and chocolates onto a list. I'm not all that fussed on christmas presents. I can see how people (like students/not working peoples) with minimal money would be, but i have enough money to get stuff I want.
Shorty Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 It's just a shame it blows It's a shame you suck or Mr_Odwin might have taken your opinion seriously
jayseven Posted November 25, 2009 Author Posted November 25, 2009 I'm pretty sure my mum's going to get me the 5+ recent pratchett books I've not got, despite not particularly wanting them. My dad's on holiday for both xmas and my birthday so I probably won't get anything from him. However I do actually already have a couple of wrapped gifts here from my mum, awaiting a christmas tree to go under.
Caris Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 A prostitute. Two if I've been good this year.
Mr_Odwin Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 It's a shame you suck or Mr_Odwin might have taken your opinion seriously Yeah. There seems to be several people in the comic thread that enjoy it and I respect some of those peeps, so figure it'll probs be decent.
CoolFunkMan Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Wine Gums. As many bags as possible. Can't get them in Shanghai Whut, no Wine Gums over there?! That's sacrilege! I'm not a fan or anything, but why do pop concerts get cooler tickets than rock gigs? Almost all of my old gig tickets are just bog-standard ones. ...and for a massive computer error that removes my student debt and means I don't have to pay tuition fees ever again. I'd love that to happen to me to, stupid student loans... ¬¬
EEVILMURRAY Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 It's a shame you suck or Mr_Odwin might have taken your opinion seriously It's a lie. Opposites do not attract. Yeah. There seems to be several people in the comic thread that enjoy it and I respect some of those peeps, so figure it'll probs be decent. That's the reason I purchased it also, then the second volume as I got the excuse "... hmm, yeah it doesn't start out that exciting...". After that I didn't find it entertaining enough to spend monies on the rest. Who knows, maybe you'll agree.
Iun Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Whut, no Wine Gums over there?! That's sacrilege! The worst thing, the WORST thing is that a year ago a Marks and Spencer opened on Nanjing Xi Lu (big shopping district) and they had hundreds of M&S Wine Gums. Then suddenly from January this year... they stopped selling them.
