Ganepark32 Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 For whatever reason, I was suddenly reminded earlier of the game Soldier Blade on the PC Engine/Turbografx-16 and how it's not only one of my favourite games/shmups (it's so damned addictive!!!) but also has one hell of an awesome soundtrack. And so looking for it on youtube, someone has put up the entire thing in one video How I'd absolutely love another game in the Star Soldier series, albeit nothing like the WiiWare one which was pretty poor compared to the 4 PC Engine ones (although that's hardly a fair comparison as that console nailed the shmup genre with so many classics).
Helmsly Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 never played Soldier Blade but that song is great. Richter Belmont Theme (Snes Version) Richter Belmont Theme (Rondo Of Blood Version)
Fused King Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Ladies and Gentlemen, After Kong in Concert and Serious Monkey Business, Ocremix.org brings us: DONKEY KONG COUNTRY 3: DOUBLE THE TROUBLE!
Josh64 Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 (edited) I've finally found this thread! I kept thinking we need a VGM thread somewhere but weirdly my eyes always gaze over the stickied threads, probably the opposite of what should happen :P Anyway, I whipped out my old iPod again a few days ago and was reminded of this WONDERFUL game, not exactly retro yet, but by gosh is it classic. LET'S TAP, specifically, to a 70's disco beat with cheap trumpet - oh yeaaaaaaah. It makes my heart melt every time. I don't know if anybody mentioned the music from Pilotwings Resort, if not it deserves to be mentioned for sure. I for one love the tracks. Here's my fav [amazing song] Thank you for reminding me of this! Everything about that game was superb! I loved the relaxed pace and exploration, truly one of the best 3DS games! Helmsly Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 A couple of Stickerbrush Symphony/Bramble Blast remix's I like: Serious Monkey Business: Bramble Reprise Audio kamadashipoteto barbed spines remix Audio Smash Brothers Brawl Bramble Blast Audio GBA version Audio 8-bit rendition by djbouche Audio Got another to add to this list: It starts off as a stickerbrush symphony cover and turns into a medley of a few other songs from the series.
Oxigen_Waste Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 (edited) Recently completed Thomas Was Alone, the soundtrack is very nice... this piece in particular made me feel stuff I thougt a little rectangle couldn't make me feel... edit: Also, the damned Unfinished Swan main theme gets me every time... Fierce_LiNk Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Some of the music in No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle is so good. The first one I posted is lovely. I want this in a Zombie film.
Guy Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Just wanted to jump in and mention the Sonic Generations soundtrack is amazing.
Debug Mode Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Just wanted to jump in and mention the Sonic Generations soundtrack is amazing. Oh man, it really was. That modern Chemical Plant zone remix was simply amazing. And judging by the announcement of quite a few concerts, I'm going to assume Bravely Default's soundtrack is incredibly popular here. Promotional footage for the DVD that has footage from the first concert: General music from the game: (The transition is fucking amazing) If this game gets localised, and reviewers think the musical score is anything less than 10/10, I'm calling shenanigans.
gaggle64 Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 (edited) As I'm sure most are already aware, the Hotline Miami soundtrack is utterly unparalleled. And from my other recent purchase, I do love the FTL intro theme. Audio Edited March 23, 2013 by gaggle64
dwarf Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Soundtrack alone made that game worth playing. Time for some BioShock Infinite love. The whole area before the baptism with the candle reflections in the water... magnificent.
drahkon Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 This takes me back. So many memories. The first RPG that I played. It's been 12 years...

Fused King Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 In terms of sheer qualitative tracks in a game, Xenoblade Chronicles is one of the greats. Would buy the sequel just for the music even if the gameplay is a missingno. mess. I mean, just listen to the opening theme alone! THE GAME HASN'T EVEN STARTED YET!!! This track kidn of sums up the journey that awaits you! A journey that took me 142 hours over the cours of 1.5 years with a friend
lostmario Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 The thread needs more 16 bit love Streets of Rage Audio Streets of Rage 2 Audio Audio World of Illusion Audio Golden Axe 2 Audio Audio
Tales Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 This takes me back. So many memories. The first RPG that I played. It's been 12 years... Sometimes I have loaded the game on the PS3 just to hear that song.
Ganepark32 Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 For some reason, I've been thinking a lot about Remember Me and it's soundtrack so been listening to that quite a bit recently. And I love it. I only noticed bits and pieces back when I played the game but I'm loving the mixture of synths and more classical/orchestral pieces (with some definite John Williams-esque moments). Pretty much a perfect match for the visual style they created for Neo Paris. Ultimately, it's a shame the game didn't quite come off (would probably have worked better as a movie) but loving the soundtrack.
freepeople8 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Same here Vol. What's the ridiculous interconnection Smolin?
