For whatever reason, I was suddenly reminded earlier of the game Soldier Blade on the PC Engine/Turbografx-16 and how it's not only one of my favourite games/shmups (it's so damned addictive!!!) but also has one hell of an awesome soundtrack.

And so looking for it on youtube, someone has put up the entire thing in one video :D

How I'd absolutely love another game in the Star Soldier series, albeit nothing like the WiiWare one which was pretty poor compared to the 4 PC Engine ones (although that's hardly a fair comparison as that console nailed the shmup genre with so many classics).

I've finally found this thread! I kept thinking we need a VGM thread somewhere but weirdly my eyes always gaze over the stickied threads, probably the opposite of what should happen :P

Anyway, I whipped out my old iPod again a few days ago and was reminded of this WONDERFUL game, not exactly retro yet, but by gosh is it classic. LET'S TAP, specifically, to a 70's disco beat with cheap trumpet - oh yeaaaaaaah.

It makes my heart melt every time.

I don't know if anybody mentioned the music from Pilotwings Resort, if not it deserves to be mentioned for sure. I for one love the tracks. Here's my fav

[amazing song]

Thank you for reminding me of this! Everything about that game was superb! I loved the relaxed pace and exploration, truly one of the best 3DS games!

Got another to add to this list:

It starts off as a stickerbrush symphony cover and turns into a medley of a few other songs from the series.

Recently completed Thomas Was Alone, the soundtrack is very nice... this piece in particular made me feel stuff I thougt a little rectangle couldn't make me feel...

Just wanted to jump in and mention the Sonic Generations soundtrack is amazing.

Oh man, it really was. That modern Chemical Plant zone remix was simply amazing.

And judging by the announcement of quite a few concerts, I'm going to assume Bravely Default's soundtrack is incredibly popular here.

Promotional footage for the DVD that has footage from the first concert:

General music from the game:

(The transition is fucking amazing)

If this game gets localised, and reviewers think the musical score is anything less than 10/10, I'm calling shenanigans.

As I'm sure most are already aware, the Hotline Miami soundtrack is utterly unparalleled.

And from my other recent purchase, I do love the FTL intro theme.

Soundtrack alone made that game worth playing.

Time for some BioShock Infinite love. The whole area before the baptism with the candle reflections in the water... magnificent.

In terms of sheer qualitative tracks in a game, Xenoblade Chronicles is one of the greats.

Would buy the sequel just for the music even if the gameplay is a missingno. mess.

I mean, just listen to the opening theme alone!

THE GAME HASN'T EVEN STARTED YET!!!

This track kidn of sums up the journey that awaits you!

A journey that took me 142 hours over the cours of 1.5 years with a friend

This takes me back. So many memories.

The first RPG that I played.

It's been 12 years...

Sometimes I have loaded the game on the PS3 just to hear that song.

For some reason, I've been thinking a lot about Remember Me and it's soundtrack so been listening to that quite a bit recently. And I love it. I only noticed bits and pieces back when I played the game but I'm loving the mixture of synths and more classical/orchestral pieces (with some definite John Williams-esque moments). Pretty much a perfect match for the visual style they created for Neo Paris. Ultimately, it's a shame the game didn't quite come off (would probably have worked better as a movie) but loving the soundtrack.
