Holy shit, I didn't know they were adapting this!!! And HBO, too, to top it off!!! Brilliant. To anyone who isn't aware, Game of thrones is an adaptation of George R. R. Martin's fantasy masterpiece A Song Of Ice And Fire, which is pretty much the best fantasy fiction ever created (yes, it surpasses Lord Of The Rings, and anyone who tells you otherwise probably never read this - It's just ridiculously good!). Coming in April 2011. HBO = win Song of Ice And Fire = win Cast = win All signs point to massive win! Anyway, appetizers:

I used to play this, back in the day. Then I quit. Then I got back to it, stronger then ever, got myself quite the collection of goodies, and then forced myself to quit because it's too expensive a habit (I did manage to complete one of the awesomest decks ever made! It's still usable in Extended format!). But now thanks to Magic Workstation, I'm back at it. It's perfect. Free, available, online, and best of all, completely legal. Now I can finally satisfy my thirst for this fantastic game, without the costly sums of money it takes for me to enjoy it. Yes, holding the cards in your hand and playing it for real is better, but this works just fine, all the elements of strategy are there, this is most definitely the king of trading card games! : peace: Anywho, have you ever played it? Do you still play it? You haven't played it, yet have always been curious, WHATEVER, what's your history with this game? What memories do you have of it and what do you think of it?

I hate that I can't play my Nintendo stuff online. =( I love Splatoon and the game is just sitting there and can't be used...

Third party AAA games on Switch - A lost cause?
Oxigen_Waste replied to Hogge's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I honestly don't want them there at all. Considering the storage problem I don't want anything on it since third parties are universally horrible at optimizing game sizes, especially in the AAA space. Doom's 23GB is very scary considering how good id are at this sort of thing. -
This. You're pretty much screwed if you dislike them. A "fix" is not gonna happen and if button mapping is your problem you already know for sure you can fix it since PS4 has a button mapping feature available regardless.

2002 will never be topped, personally. Metroid is my fav Nintendo IP and it became so precisely because that 1-2 Metroid Fusion and Prime punch hit me so hard... Prime was the first time I ever imported a game. That IGN score coupled with the impact Fusion had just had on me plus the ease of importing through videogamesplus was the perfect storm. Pikmin came out of nowhere to become my second fav Nintendo IP to this very day. Smash Brothers Melee remains near perfect 15 years later, Wind Waker (2003 for the West I know, but it did release 2002) was my first 3D Zelda and despite it's flaws is still a tremendous achievement and Mario Sunshine, despite the hate it gets, is a great game in it's own right. "Worst 3D Mario ever" yet it's still better than any other 3D platformer around and was absolutely perfect in my eyes at the time as a big M64 fan. Then there's Advance Wars, Luigi's Mansion, Golden Sun, Mario Party 4 and even Starfox Adventures made a positive impression on me since I had never played any Starfox game. It was a particularly great year for me since Super Mario World and Kirby's Adventure got remakes/remasters on the GBA that year and it was the first time I played either or those (first Kirby ever). Let's not mention the third party bombs that got released on Nintendo hardware that year, btw... REmake alone was the biggest reason I even got a Gamecube at the time. Sega died on me and RE was one of my fav IPs on the Dreamcast so if it weren't for REmake I would've probably never even become such a huge Nintendo fan. Didn't much care for them at that point in time outside Pokemon and playing Mario 64/SMB3 at my cousin's.

Registration works in waves, you'll have to keep your ear to the ground, keep checking and be patient. Anybody got any ideas regarding getting an email address I can use? I have no idea what they're looking for, to be quite honest.
-
Well, I'll never get in. Don't have my old uni email anymore so I can't apply. I will frankly never understand this approach.
-
How does it compare to infestation, in your opinion? Getting a similar vibe...

I mean like proper exclusives, those two are on PC. It's a great system, all things considered... just a bit useless if you happen to have a gaming PC. Still, if it really ends up making my 360 and OGbox obsolete I'll definitely be getting one.
-
Yes indeed. I'll definitely be picking one of these up in 4 or 5 years or whenever I can get a used one for under 100, hoping it can replace the other 2 and save some space. And there's always Rare Replay, Halo and Sunset Overdrive, I suppose. That's about it for exclusives, right?
-
Well, I got both Persona 5 and Nioh several days late and they were the only games I ever preordered with Amazon. Was living in Dalston at the time too so location couldn't have been the issue.

Oooh! Thanks for this. Not sure where to go, though... don't have Prime on UK and can't use trial so it'd only be £1 cheaper for me. Think I might stick with the french variant to get it an hour early.
-
Amazon France is £40.10 without prime and £38.31 with prime (you can use the trial). Same about releasing codes at midnight but French midnight is 11PM for us so that's where I'm going. Cheaper and sooner? Yes please. Again, your amazon UK account is compatible with amazon france, for anyone interested. You just have to input some random address (I just used a hotel) and you're set.
-
Posted this in the Mario thread already but does anyone know of any store selling the digital copy under £40 (Amazon.fr's price... our amazon.uk account and payment methods work there too and it's probably even cheaper if you have prime, I'd imagine)? That's the price to beat at the moment as far as I am aware.

If you have this already don't bother as the DLC is pretty shit. If you don't... get it. Excellent Musou. Second only to Samurai Warriors 4 and personally tied with Hyrule Warriors and Warriors Orochi 3 for the #2 spot.
-
Forgot to include that in the list. Got it already. Great stuff. Still prefer Monster World IV but only barely! Considering the amount of Wii VC TurboGrafx games that are suddenly being dumped left and right into the WiiU's VC at the most nonsensical point in it's life possible I wouldn't be surprised if these all ended up coming to the Switch, in which case I'll definitely be replaying Dragon's Curse just for a frame of reference now that the new remake is a thing.
-
Thanks, didn't even know it was on there, thought it was 3DS only... Had quite a bit of fun with Azure, never tried the sequel but assuming I can jump straight to #3 with no problems. Edit: btw, while you're here... you wouldn't happen to have imported MHXX would you? Since your love of MH is legendary I gotta ask. Would be an instabuy since I skipped it on 3DS precisely because I thought a Switch version would be coming (same for Sun/Moon) but the amount of menu based interface and different components makes importing this intimidating... If you did import it, how big of a pain was it?

Aye, I'll definitely be picking this game up this wednesday when I finally get a switch. Getting a great condition used system with Splat 2 and BotW. Also getting Mario as that's the game I was waiting for before buying and will probably get some eShop treasures too. Dead set on getting Blaster Master, Steamworld Dig 2 and Waku Waku 7 on day 1, what else should I be on the lookout for besides Stardew Valey, Binding of Isaac, Cave Story and Shovel Knight (have them already)? Golf Story seems nice. Might look into a Jackbox game, never tried any and it seems like a good fit for the switch. I dislike (despite completely understanding) the dpad on the system and the pro controller has issues in that arena as well so I was a bit down on older/indie 2D stuff for the Switch... but serendipity interfered and the controller I've been using for most of my 2D gaming (except fighters and shmups) since the last couple years (Pokkén) is 100% compatible with the system all of a sudden so I do believe the switch will become my platform of choice for such experiences whenever possible, considering the optional portability factor (despite the less than ideal dpad).

Quite possibly the best 3D Mario yadda yadda yadda but... am I the only one who was extremely disappointed with the final level? Making me grind star bits for like an hour just so I can play the exact same level on a daredevil run? Really? Still a 10 but pet peeve of mine regarding the game, for sure. (How in the hell do I edit a quote into my existing post with these new systems? Don't want to keep doubleposting...)
-
Digital purchasers, where are you gonna be buying this from? Amazon fr seems to be the place to beat right now, it's going for £40. Anyone got a better deal?

Completely unwarranted, I feel. The way she tells it it comes off sounding like a misjudged and horribly timed attempt at being spontaneous and romantic with someone with whom he obviously shared some sort of connection (since she herself did say they ended up hooking up later down the road) rather than anything genuinely malicious, especially since he didn't really do anything about it after she shut him down. Why this is outrageous or unacceptable in any way whatsoever is a bit beyond me right now. “I feel gross from having ever been in contact with this person" doesn't really fit with the rest of what she's saying. Not that harassment should ever be tolerated, mind... Edit: how does one multiquote under this new interface? Ended up having to rewrite this whole post because multiquoting Smeagol made this one disappear. Can't exactly copy and paste since it's not just text now so I was counting on automerged doublepost to fix that but I can see that feature isn't a part of this platform either. Edit 2: nevermind figured out the multiquotes, it works fine on the desktop, wasn't working on the tablet but oh well.

Wouldn't expect much but you'll at least get back some people like me for sure. Hey, by the way.
