Julius Posted July 21 Posted July 21 America rn When the end of the year hits, may you be living in boring times. Fingers crossed, eh? 1
Dcubed Posted July 22 Posted July 22 Good news, the Democrats would’ve been completely screwed if they stuck with Biden; he’s just too old at this point. That being said? I think it’s probably the wrong time to take a risk with a female presidential candidate. It didn’t exactly go well the last time they went up against Trump with one, and with America leaning more and more right wing? I feel that they’re taking this risk at the wrong time here… hopefully I’m wrong on this one.

She's gathered a stupid amount of support in a short space of time. I wanna see her go head to head with Trump in a debate. I imagine she would wipe the floor with him, given her past profession.

There is the old issue of “you can’t win an argument against an idiot” and Trump will just continue to spout utter drivel that is hard to come back against because you just can’t prepare for it. That being said, at this point I don’t think any of it matters. Trump supporters will vote for Trump and Democrats will vote for Harris. The selections on each side are now very interesting as each will galvanize the other to go out and vote in huge numbers to keep the ‘wrong’ side out. This is probably the first bad move of Trump’s campaign, I’d have said he was pretty much certain to get in before this but now he’ll have a real battle on his hands.
FalcoLombardi Posted July 24 Posted July 24 I'm feeling better now about Kamala's chances than I did on Sunday when I heard the news.

Anyway, regardless if Biden stays in the race or not I am voting against the Humanoid Orange Turd. Out of all the Liberals I know (most of my friends) they will be doing the same. There's one person I know who is definitely left leaning who is going to vote for RFK Jr (????). And then most of my co-workers are right leaning and are "Trump or die" so there's that... Haha... nope. Anyway: Another colleague is desperate to vote for RFK Jr - which is his right, but I wonder how many more stupid protest voters there are out there and how much damage they are going to do.

Maybe as much damage as that brain worm did to him?

FalcoLombardi Posted September 11 Posted September 11 I feel like last night's debate went well for Harris and terribly for Trump. Unfortunately I don't think it'll change any MAGAs minds about who to vote for. Though maybe a few "undecided" voters will be for Harris after last night. For the life of me I cannot fathom how it's even close. Thanks US education system! 3
Hero-of-Time Posted September 11 Author Posted September 11 I'm sitting watching the debate (didn't realise Disney+ has it) and every time Trump speaks, all I can think of is the Pokemon skit. 2
Hero-of-Time Posted September 11 Author Posted September 11 Just finished watching it. Trump had me howling. Dude is so entertaining to watch. When he started going on about immigrants eating their neighbours pets I just lost it. Harris done exactly what she needed to do. Remained calmed, poked the bear a little and didnt rise up to anything said. It's crazy how watchable this was in comparison to our boring and dry debates that happen in the UK general elections or parliament. 1

Holy shit, that's hilarious That has to be the best Trump impression I've ever heard. Though this one comes close: 1

When it starts getting mixed up with entertainment, you get gameshow hosts being elected and other populist rubbish. Boris was very entertaining, but absolutely dogshit at everything else. Truss Vs Lettuce was entertaining, but it crashed the economy because she's incompetent, and now we're all paying for it. 4
Hero-of-Time Posted September 13 Author Posted September 13 World is gonna burn anyway. May as well be entertained by those running the place as it all comes crashing down.
Glen-i Posted September 14 Posted September 14 (edited) My favourite YouTuber just taught me what "Gerrymandering" is. Which is very appropriate for this thread. So... Any excuse to signal boost him. Also, he has the only in-video ads that are actually worth watching. Edited September 14 by Glen-i

Obviously this is hours later than your post but yes. They shot at him when realising he was a threat and he ran away and was then apprehended. 1
FalcoLombardi Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Just over a month til the election. I believe Kamala will win by quite a large margin, but, of course, Trump won't accept it. And MAGA learned from last time about all the legalities etc. on certifying the election. It's going to be a shitshow again.

Personally, I think the whole thing will be closer but it's difficult in this media fuelled world, where we often end up in echo chambers, to say who will win yet. 1

Yes, I should clarify. I believe the majority or people will vote for Harris, but thanks to the electoral college it'll still be close. 1
