What Have You Bought?

Fuck, 90 quid?

I think I've had a night like that before actually.

But yeah would never spend that much on a night out anymore.

Yup, one of those stupid things when you've got cash on you, yet spend said cash, but continue drinking by paying for drinks on your card.

I fucking hate myself when I do that. But I find myself doing it alot when I go out,

and it's not even that I'm being generous and offer to buy rounds, I just genuinely drink the money away, and while I am of course hammered, I'm still semi aware of what I'm doing, As in, not a paralytic state or passing out, Or even throwing up for that matter, Just hammered and way to involved in dancing heh.

Oh boy did I feel in yesterday though :hmm:

£16!!?...

Deluxe is £11.97 on Amazon (CD) or £9.99 (Download)!!

It will add many times more worth to my life than £16. And the fact of the matter is it's a far greater experience buying it from HMV, excitedly walking home -- rather than waking up in the morning and it being there.

OK I just thought paying 1/3 extra was worth pointing out to you if you wanted to save some... but if money's no object. I don't doubt it's value.

I don't think listening to a great album has been diminished because of the delivery/format.

A fantastic album that is downloaded for a tenner is just as fantastic as it being bought on a piece of plastic for 16 quid.

But that's just me.

Technically the sound quality of a download will always be worse, and therefore never truly be as fantastic as the CD copy.

*assuming we're talking about standard download quality from the major retailers. I know you can get FLACC/lossless stuff but it's not the majority and I don't think it ever reaches the quality of a mastered CD?*

*if Chair were to listen to the CD, and not rip MP3's from the CD, of course*

Hhmm I did not know this...!

Ponders... :blank:

I always used to buy CD's rather than download, but literally in the last couple of weeks I have been downloading. I must admit, I do prefer having the physical copy to import to iTunes for my iPhone/pod, then having the cd for the car.

I would genuinely like to see if you can tell the difference.

Next meet.

Will test.

The difference between 128kbps MP3s and CD audio is really obvious to me... especially if you turn up the volume, at which point the former becomes a crackly mess.

However I think usually MP3 download albums are at 320kbps, at which point the difference is less clear. Although some programs like iTunes might shrink the file before putting it on your device to save space, if you don't tell it otherwise.

Well rather than bought, i put said item on my Christmas list.

On Christmas day, as i'm opening it, it going to sing:

Dah dah dah dah, dah-dah-dah-dah, dahdahdahdah, dah dah dah DAH!

Then i'm going to hold it aloft and sing:

DAH DAH DAH DAH DAAAAAAAAAH!
