Some of us work in offices and the highlight of the day can be a little prank here and there, that may seem lame to outsiders. What are your best? The finest of my workplace: 1) Unplugging the chord of a phone, but leaving the chord as if it were still attached to the base unit. Wait for victim to come back to desk. Call them on the phone. They pick up the handset and start talking, but the chord just dangles and the phone keeps ringing. 2) Writing "DECLINED" with a red pen across holiday request forms. 3) (Needs a conspirator.) Write an email to your conspirator. At each email you or your conspirator additionally CC a new individual into the conversation, all the while talking about some mysterious piece of gossip that is out there. Good times. Then ring their office phone or their mobile phone on their desk, answer in, and set it to speaker phone. Then when they return, wait for a minute and let them get absorbed back into their work before yelling something down the phone and making them jump a mile! Ten10 Posted February 18, 2009 Share Posted February 18, 2009 There are a few stupid ones which I haven't done since I've started working in an office but have done many times at uni. First is the flipped display (doesn't work on all machines for some reason) But basically you press Ctrl + Alt + any arrow key to flip the desktop in that particular direction, messes up a person big time. Second is the invincible folder. Create a folder on the desktop, like my hardcore porn or something. Print the screen and drop it in paint. Mundi Posted February 18, 2009 Share Posted February 18, 2009 Read this one a while ago. You need to get someone away from their work phone. Unscrew the part of the phone that you talk into and weight it down a bit but not too much or it will be too noticeable. Then you play the waiting game, after a few weeks maybe a month remove the weight from the phone call him and watch him bash his face because of the weight change. Or are the phones you prank easy to repair? With the phones at work the cord that connects the handset to the phone unit is detachable at both ends. All he had to do was set it up when they went away from their desk, then sneakilly move said person's mouse using his phone pad without them seeing. So damn funny. Then he said to someone - "someone on the line for you" and handed them the headset. The worst thing was the poor person fell for it. Changing the keyboard round to spell dirty words Changing chairs around/adjusting heights of chairs. And he has an induction joke for everyone (which he actually used on his superiors superior ) Boss: How long can you keep a chicken in a freezer? New staff: <talks about freezer types and checking labels on chicken> Boss: Well I left it in there overnight and it was dead by morning. Office banter is the best thing ever. One of the pranks i did was transfer calls down the office making people run back and forth between desks. Worked for about 10 mins before i hung up. One night I left the radio in the stockroom/office on really loudly so the next morning when the manager got there he wouldn't go upstairs first as he thought someone had broken in. We also had a cardboard cutout of Rico Rodreguiz (from that game with the red cover...whatever it was called). He often got propped right outside the bathroom door while someone was there.
