  1. N-Europe turns niN-Eteen!

Have a good one N-Europe. I remember back in the day I was after any information I could get on the Gamecube before its release. Came across a site called N64-europe that had details of the yet to be released console. I was also fortunate enough that it was one of the few websites not blocked by the Sixth Form internet filter. There have been some interesting characters over the years. Glad to see things are still going strong.
  2. Google+

Was going to post this on General but as it is currently invite only + beta it goes here. Google plus is google's latest attempt to beat facebook. Dare I say this is the social networking solution I have been waiting for. Below is some information about some of their most stand out features. More information on the Official Google blog: http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2011/06/introducing-google-project-real-life.html
  3. The Android Thread

Try SMS Backup+ which will sync your texts to your google account. Then set a thread limit after they have been backed up to put a cap on what is on the device. Set up a auto backup schedule to keep everything synced to your Google account.
  4. Wouldn't you need to convert your mp3 CD's into standard audio CD's (CDA format limited to 70 minutes of audio ) instead of just changing the file format? Wouldn't it be better to just write the mp3's to a new disc using the CDA format instead? It just seems like a lot of additional work Rummy but it's been a long while since I've done anything like that so maybe I'm missing something

If icloud supports exporting to csv or a vcard file format you can import it to your google account via gmail. http://contacts.google.com

Perhaps the Motorola Razr i? http://www.techradar.com/reviews/phones/mobile-phones/motorola-razr-i-1098183/review
  8. The Android Thread

As for me. 32GB Nexus 10 without a doubt and I'll be handing down my nexus 7 as a disguised Christmas present. Will probably skip the nexus 4 unless they release a 32GB version. Galaxy Nexus is doing me just fine right now and there is nothing that the nexus 4 offers that makes me want to make the jump.
  9. That's unfortunate, I though he was the underdog or something So in that case I'll just give my remaining funds to you.
  10. Well naturally I'll be sending some funds your way. Thinking of showing some love to Jonny though.
  11. I have arrived. And so has my wallet. Expect funds soon.
  12. What Have You Bought?

I actually have buyer's remorse as I found out they are incredibly easy to steal after I paid for and drove away with it.

OTA updates aren't always a deal breaker. As long as you have an app installed that tries to protect root: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.projectvoodoo.otarootkeeper&hl=en Worked on my Nexus 7.

Horn and the Dark Knight are worthwhile purchases too. Usually both are around £5+
  15. Borderlands 2

Mine came too. Happy dance. Zero here I come.
  16. What Have You Bought?

What network are you on? I got mine in December for £200 upfront on a £17 a month contract, upgraded to all you can eat data and then put in a complaint about poor network performance and got £5 off.
  17. The Apple Thread

New iPhone, new iPod touch and new nano. Plus iOS6 additions of which 30% will be US exclusive without saying directly. Source: http://www.theverge.com/2012/9/12/3320358/iphone-5-name-leak-apple-search-results
  18. Can anyone recommend me a decent webcam?

I have a microsoft one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-H5D-00003-Lifecam-Cinema-HD/dp/B002I3IRY8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1347358986&sr=8-1 Widescreen camera with up to 720p recording at 30fps. Has a built in microphone and software with effects like big head and accessories (think dog ears and pirate hat) Has very good auto focus and picture quality.
  19. Missing files on USB drive - HELP

From memory recuva shows you how damaged a file is. If it's green it can fully be restored, yellow there may be some corruption. Red then it can't really be recovered in any usable state. I don't think you can recover any files beyond that. The best thing to do would be to not use the drive at all and see if there is a more powerful recovery program that you can use. I haven't tried any beyond recuva. One that showed up on a quick google search was: http://www.undelete360.com/ This one claims to repair corrupted files: http://www.filerepair1.com/ Since I haven't used either of them myself I would suggest a virus scan on the setup files before you install.
  20. Missing files on USB drive - HELP

Perhaps try this: http://www.piriform.com/recuva/builds They have a version that will run on a USB drive. Don't put it on the drive you want to recover from try and put it in your my docs folder / public. It doesn't require an install so should be ok.
  21. Borderlands 2

Managed to finally preorder the Vault Hunter Edition from game so also get their exclusive DLC. Will be on the 360, thought about switching back to my first love the PC but already had borderlands on Xbox. Look me up if anyone is up for a game on the 21st.
  22. Windows 8

Well I need to upgrade my laptop as the way the fan is grinding I know it's not going to last much longer. That being said I'm not really looking forward to getting windows 8 on my new shiny laptop as it seems the user experience is somewhat broken in the traditional sense: http://www.pcgamesn.com/article/why-i-m-uninstalling-windows-8
  23. Apple vs Samsung Trial

Hi all, I know I don't post much any more but I do lurk from time to time. I don't have much to say in all this, just a single video that says enough. You can watch his series and see a more in depth version of the analysis here: http://www.everythingisaremix.info/watch-the-series/
  24. The Android Thread

I had the Apollo once. From the first day I hated it and considered the purchase a mistake as it was light years away from the user experience of my HTC Desire. Anyway in the end I put a custom ROM on it and the phone was usable until I got the Galaxy Nexus. I used this particular ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957123
  25. The Android Thread

Just had jelly bean pushed to my galaxy nexus. The butter is so silky smooth. Amazing stuff.
