Somebody Call 9-1-1! Flameboy Birthday On The Dance Floor!
S.C.G replied to Iun's topic in General Chit Chat
Happy Birthday Flameboy! -
Anyone else get an update today? I tried to load up a game and I then got disconnected as if it was a game update but it turned out to be something much bigger as my Xbox reset and now it's downloading again as if it were a big dashboard update. I just wondered if anyone else had this recently as I'm sure we aren't scheduled an update until Winter I thought?

I mainly buy Nintendo consoles to play Nintendo games and thrid-party exclusives, that may change depending on how many multi-format games the Wii U does get though but by and large I'll just buy those for the Xbox 360... Roll on Pikmin 3 I say!

Well done on having the courage to do something about your situation Iun but it doesn't sound like you're that happy about it... clearly you needed to do something but I'm guessing now you may be thinking 'better the devil you know' even if being with her was affecting your quality of life. Now it seems that not being with her is also affecting your quality of life but what else could you do? I want to say that you should 'do whatever makes you happy' but clearly you probably won't be happy either way... at least not right away. All I can do is hope that you can make the decision that's right for you... try and put everyone elses feelings aside for a moment so that you can figure out what exactly it is that you want, otherwise how else can you hope to move forward? I don't know if any of this will be of help to you and for what it's worth I'm probably not the best person to take advice from but there it is anyway... you've helped me more than enough times so I hope that I may have been of some use here, either way... hang in there ok?

That's some pretty strong criticism of ShopTo... what happened when you last ordered from them if you don't mind me asking? It must have been pretty bad for you to be put off ordering from them ever again. I only say this with partial disbelief as my shopping experience with them has been nothing short of stellar, hence why I pre-ordered my Wii U with them. : peace: Game can go whistle if they think I'm going to pay an extra £50 for the 'privilege' of having to go all the way to the shop and back on launch day, I'd rather pay less, get it delivered either on day of release or early and earn reward points that actually amount to a decent discount. :p
-
I have mine pre-ordered naturally I have chosen black to go alongside my 3DS and have pre-ordered three games... Pikmin 3 New! Super Mario Bros. U Zombi U Obviously NSMBU is just in case it's confirmed as a launch title but I'm confident that nearer the time when ShopTo start their bundles that you'll be able to get one with Pikmin3 and Zombi U at which point I fully expect my order for the seperate items will be changed to that so I have literally no concerns about pre-ordering early though I'll hold off on payment until final details are confirmed. Excited!

This gen's under appreciated/performing developers.
S.C.G replied to flameboy's topic in Other Consoles
Platinum Games who seemed to have a promising start when they released Mad World on the Wii closely followed by Infinite Space on the DS, the sales of these games seemed decent at first but they tailed off after a while yet they must have both been pretty successful as they then went on to make the fantastic Bayonetta which went on to sell a great deal I would imagine as the game was very popular indeed at its time of release and it's easilly their biggest hit to date. Of course then they decided to release Vanquish which is another shining example of a brilliant game that didn't sell too well perhaps either due to the timing of release or the fact that there were so many other games available at the time, which is a shame. Still it can't have hurt them too badly as since early 2011 they have been working alongside Kojima Productions on the now quite honestly genuinely stunning looking Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance which will no doubt help to put them firmly back on the map again, then looking to the future they are also working on Anarchy Reigns for Xbox360/PS3 think Madworld but with colour, in HD, with more characters and instead is an online arena-based beat-em-up... then we have Project P-100 recently shown for Wii U in collaboration with Nintendo which shows a game looking part Pikmin merged with Marvel Superhero Squad and Transformers. The latter two games are not exactly a match made in heaven but I have hopes that both of those games will have a significant redesign before we next see them again to avoid things going full-circle as obviously they'd like all future titles to sell well, I'll be doing my bit to support the developer more from now on too as the only game of theirs that I bought for full price was Bayonetta which actually warranted its price-tag I thought... the rest I picked up for next to nothing and are on the 'to be played' pile. I will be buying MGSR:R upon release though as that looks fantastic and I can only hope that their future titles will sell even half as good as I'm sure MGS will because if they can assure that then their future will surely be secure for a good time to come. Long live Platinum Games one of the finest yet most underappreciated developers of this generation. : peace: -
June 8th - Rayman Origins - Available on other formats, 3D might sell it? June 15th - Heroes of Ruin - Looks like it could be genuinely decent June 22nd - LEGO Batman 2 - Available on other formats, 3D might sell it? June 29th - Spirit Camera - Already confirmed to be rubbish I thought? June 29th - Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns - Great if you like HM July 6th - Theatrhythm : Final Fantasy - Interesting enough July 20th - Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance - Gotta play 'em all! August - New Super Mario Bros 2 - It's-a-him! you know the drill So out of those eight titles, personally I'll be buying one maybe two games... Heroes of Ruin and NSMB2... this doesn't bother me as I've other games to play on other platforms but for anyone who only games on Nintendo platforms I can see things possibly getting frustrating for them, providing they don't like VC games that is, if they do then they'll still be reasonably well catered for I'm sure.

"It's made by Nintendo, the greatest innovating force in games." That's about all you need to sell it really.

Apologies for the delay in writing/publishing VC Weekly recently, what with the site re-launch and me falling ill over the past week everything apart from work seems to have been put to one side, I know like all N-Europe staff we only work here purely volutarily but it still doesn't mean that I don't feel bad when things don't go to plan. Anyway, I'm starting to feel much better today and with the help of my fellow staff members we're going to get things back on track. : peace:

Sony Press Conference (4th June in LA/5th June in Europe))
S.C.G replied to Mokong's topic in Other Consoles
Oh I agree, still though... just glad I saved myself some diappointment and gained an extra hour or two of sleep. -

S.C.G replied to Mokong's topic in Other Consoles
Still though... two games that were actually worth seeing the conference for means that barely 15 mins of it was actually worth watching, personally I'd be pretty annoyed if I'd stayed up for that. -

S.C.G replied to Mokong's topic in Other Consoles
Ahahaha! I'm so glad I didn't bother to stay up for what sounded like it was an absolute trainwreck of a show with The Last of Us being the only 'survivor' as it were... :p ... now to go and watch the new trailer for it and ready my body for Nintendo's conference! -
As would I... but I couldn't help but pre-empt what they might do with the IP using kinect. :p Lets be honest though, what we'd all really like to see from Rare is Killer Instinct 3, Perfect Dark 2 or even Banjo Threeie. Oh and an XBLA re-release of Jet Force Gemini wouldn't go amiss either.

After watching the trailer all I have to say about the battle system is... ... Tales of Devil May Cry? :p I like how you can switch between guns and blades but its done in such a way that a comparison between it and DMC - at elast where combat is concerned - is unavoidable, I do like it though. However I guess it's all pretty immaterial for us Europeans as we didn't see the first game so I'm assuming we won't see this one because if we were getting it then they'd need to release the first one surely? Ah well... if enough people purchase the day 1 edition of Tales of Graces F then maybe.
