Really enjoying this so far, I've got up to Mission 5 on Legendary which isn't bad for a days work considering I'm playing the whole thing solo. Got most of the mission specific achievements too, apart from the one on mission 4 but I kind of figured I'd probably be going back for that one so it's all good. : peace:

Sooo no one's gonna get banned from Xbox Live for playing a genuine copy of this game a day or two early right? I only ask because I recall there were instances of people playing pirated code about a month early but I'm sure they know that many people will be getting the game a few days early, so I'm imagining that all will be fine... ... I ask this as my Limited Edition copy has just arrived seems silly that I should even feel the need to ask I know, I mean Gears of War 3 actively encouraged people to play it early by welcoming them so this shouldn't be any different.

I've spent a couple of hours on this so far and I'm already loving it, I can see my time being torn between this and Forza Horizon for the next few weeks ahead in-between all the other big game releases.

It's amazing, just as expected.

Happy Birthday! Yep, it's everyone's favourite dinosaur-loving, duck-faced delicacy @Pancake's birthday today! I hope you had a great day.

I can see the point if it's for a good cause but... I like my facial hair, I've had a proper beard for a good seven years or so now; I'd just look weird(er) without it. Good luck to those who are giving it a go though.

A vertical shooter in similar vein to Radiant Silvergun or Ikaruga would potentially be pretty damn awesome on the 3DS so this is what I'll be hoping for.

Sold? This game has had me since 'Criterion' was mentioned. Nice trailer though.
-
Good to see they're updating it for free but the 'No Hope' difficulty level will only be worth playing through if you actually get something extra for completing it again, be that extra achievements or some nice in-game rewards.

Happy Birthday!

I must be the only person who has no issues with the controls then, well on the 360 version at least, the PS3 version isn't as great due to the controller but I mean I managed to paraloop all of Gilwing's tail in one go which requires a little bit of precision so that suggests to me that there's nothing wrong with the controls.

I understand the importance of having the feature - as I've stated before elsewhere - but I'm not going to let the fact that it isn't there on day one stop me from buying and enjoying it on the Wii U. Personally I own hundreds of games on the Xbox 360 - I realise that you have played many more than me - including the original Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing so yes I know I could buy the Xbox 360 version of this to enjoy being able to have voice chat plus achievements but this time I really don't feel like I'm missing out. Chances are I'll probably be using voice chat on the Xbox 360 while playing the Wii U version anyway - I'm on my 360 every day - this is probably part of what my decision is based on as I want to get away from the Xbox sometimes and back to playing on a home Nintendo console so for me this is just another perfect excuse to do just that, so I'm willing to be a little 'forgiving' on the omission of voice chat... : peace: ... for now! :p

This has got to be a 'shoe-in' for thread of the year surely? :p
-
I should be covering the review for n-europe depending on if ShopTo manage to get me my console early I may have a review of it ready not too long after launch. What are the issues stated in previews though as I don't seem to recall any.

Maybe we could actually get back on track here as this thread has suffered from a rather heavy de-railing... I'll be buying this for the Wii U on day 1... why? Because I honestly believe that this will be the best version of the game, forget about whether it supports voice chat or not as it really doesn't matter and is an issue that Nintendo will sort out via a firmware update; when it comes to the actual game the Wii U version surely has the edge. Forget which screen resolution it runs in because as we've seen from the videos it looks just as fun, frantic and fast-paced as the original but this time even more-so thanks to the vehicle changing dynamic, sure the Wii U version may not have a huge amount of exclusive stuff but being able to play it on the pad, independent of the TV should be enough for day 1. Plus we all know that Sonic games are a much better fit on Nintendo consoles anyway so a Sega racing game featuring said mascot should be a no-brainer the price may be slightly hiked but the box-art is that much better and if this is the price of supporting the Wii U on launch day then I'm prepared to pay it and will gladly race any of you online who will be getting it... the chat room works well enough for Mario Kart after all. :p

At work today I served Jenny Agutter the best bit? I was pretty much unaware until the next customer and one of my work colleagues informed me. She was really nice though, very polite... perhaps she was happy enough not to be recognised for a change, was funny though, we were talking and she even mentioned that she was from Somerset but it just didn't register in my head though at the time I did think that there was something 'familiar' about her. It made my day a bit more interesting anyway.

It stands for... 'Damage My Controller' due to the amount of button mashing involved in those kind of action games. Nah just kidding, DMC generally speaking is standard abbreviation for the ever-popular action series Devil May Cry, although there is a certain amount of truth to the aforementioned 'explanation' as well. -------------------------------------------- As for controller layouts, I own all main consoles and have no real trouble adjusting to each controller.

That reminds me, gonna pre-order this now while I remember... *pre-orders* ... that's better. I loved Need for Speed Hot Pursuit and when I eventually got into Burnout Paradise I wish that I had got into it sooner, so I'm all in on day one for this! : peace:

If this becomes localized thanks to Harada's efforts then I will buy Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on the Wii U and this without a second thought.
-
Thanks for the code Jimbob I'll be purchasing the game soon.

Happy Birthday!

I wouldn't mind if it's going spare still - if not then never mind - as I intend to pick the game up soon hopefully.

In the main stages your goal is to collect 20 of those blue spheres and then fly into the round machine which gets you one of the four coloured spheres that you then take to the start point, do this four times within the time limit to beat the stage... ... however the stage isn't completely beaten until you take out the boss, in your case the first stages boss is Gilwing the dragon; you can take him out either by paralooping in front of him or by flying right up and pushing him back, so long as you beat the boss within the time limit you beat the stage. Have fun!

Actually, I'd say that you're right to an extent, though while I don't remember the cut-scenes being as annoying or breaking the flow that much I don't actually remember much from the actual scenes bar a few stand-out ones so ultimately they were forgettable. The game is so much fun once it gets going though and I honestly think that if they spend more time on the core hack and clash gameplay mechanics and less time on drawn-out scenes then Bayonetta 2 could end up being a very worthy sequel indeed.

Well I got the game... ... but no time to play it atm. Ah well, there's always later/tomorrow!
