Sheikah Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Yeah the point of this is clearly to not have a wire running across the floor to the TV. Makes more sense to have it plug into the controller.
Shorty Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 So I'm not allowed to make jokes here? Maybe it's because I didn't use you guys' favourite delivery method:
Sheikah Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I think I just didn't get it because it wasn't really funny. :p
Rowan Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 A lot of games have headphone specific settings for audio which I only recently discovered. For example in Uncharted it's much easier to figure out what direction bullets are coming from with the setting switched on than without. Putting it at an OS level will make it much easier to switch to headphones without having to do it manually for each game. Theoretically the audio should be cleaner too as you won't be passing sound via a TV inbuilt processing but I don't know much about this area.
Happenstance Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 So I'm not allowed to make jokes here? I just assumed you were being serious, you've been oddly negative on the PS4 for a couple of months now.
bryanee Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 THIS WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReZourceman Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 LEGO MARVEL, Super Mazza and PS4. Gaming month.
MadDog Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I've fucked up my pre-order with Shopto. I thought i'd be at my dads in Scotland on Friday, but there's been a change of plan and i will still be in Leeds. Changed the delivery address, and because they've started processing them they can't change the address. DPD won't be able to do anything either. My sister will be able to bring it down on Saturday or Sunday, but that's more waiting. Fuck.
Cookyman Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 (edited) So I'm not allowed to make jokes here? Maybe it's because I didn't use you guys' favourite delivery method: It made me laugh - nice gifs too. Rez - looks like you'll need to keep your beast in it's cave. Games streaming service Twitch has been hard at work banning American PlayStation 4 owners for nudity and non-games content. Consoles being able to stream their own content via the PlayStation 4 is already causing a problem for Twitch, which has insisted that its platform can only be used for video games-related footage. Preferably involving people with their clothes on. Although both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 eventually intend to offering live streaming via Twitch it’s only Sony that’s got it working at launch. This allows you to stream live footage of you playing games, but also software such as freebie The Playroom. Meant more as a AR tech demo than anything else, one American couple immediately rose to fame during the PlayStation 4′s launch last week, when they started transmitting a live chat show and phone-in. But unless they talk about nothing but games this is against Twitch’s terms and conditions. And even if it wasn’t the inevitable pornographic content that has followed (not from the same couple we hasten to add) most certainly is. According to users on Reddit Twitch has been busy banning accounts all weekend, but often for what seems quite understandable reasons. ‘A few minutes ago there was a guy having sex with his partner on the couch. Why didn’t they see this coming? Beats me,’ said user Beethy. There are also reports of a PlayStation 4 owner with the ID Darckobra12 who showed his girlfriend naked on camera, apparently while she was asleep. Naturally he was banned as well. It’s hard to imagine this will be the end of the abuse or the bannings, but does this mean lewd videos are going to be the next gen equivalent of sweary teenagers on Xbox Live? 4 days to go! drahkon Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Any new bundles announced for EU/Germany? Like PS4+NFS Rivals+ 2 DS4+ Camera for 500€? Might get some extra cash soon and would love to get a nice bundle after Christmas.
Sheikah Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Good to see that accounts are being banned rather than the service removed from the PS4. This is the correct way to deal with things.
Cookyman Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Good to see that accounts are being banned rather than the service removed from the PS4. This is the correct way to deal with things. Yup, for once a sensible decision!
MATtheHAT Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Some of those Playroom streams are horrific. Absolute dregs of American society with the comments section full of racist and homophobic people. Yet remarkably entertaining.
Caris Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Just been informed my console is at my local Smyths store waiting for me to pickup on the midnight launch!
Jimbob Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I've not heard if the UK is getting a similar deal as the US got, which i mentioned in an earlier post. Anyone else know if us UK gamers will get a similar deal?
MATtheHAT Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 No such deal for the UK or EU. We get 2 week PS+ and a Music Unlimited trial - which you get anyway when you sign up on PS3.
S.C.G Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Speaking of PS+ I'm now officially a member! Used one of my multiple 90-day trials that I acquired almost half a year ago off Coke Zone - before they deleted everyone's points/accounts and raped the website - in preparation and fortunately I have until 31/12/2015 to redeem them all so I'm pretty much covered for my first year and a half of owning a PS4! Naturally I have 'downloaded' everything that I'm entitled to apart from Uncharted 3 and Gravity Rush which I already have. Roll on Friday! : peace:

bryanee Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 PS4 games are up on the UK PSN website store for you to pre-order. Just got Resogun, Contrast and Warframe all ready.
Cookyman Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 EA has cut PS4 digital download prices by £3.
S.C.G Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 EA has cut PS4 digital download prices by £3. £3... ...try £30 and then they would actually be competitively priced. :p What is the point in all these companies claiming that 'digital is the future' when it costs more for a final product which costs the company significantly less for them to put out there due to a lack of a physical medium? Apart from 'arcade' - digital only - and anything I get free on Plus... forget digital, it'll be discs all the way for me.
dwarf Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 The online infrastructure required to allow millions of consumers to download 50gb + games must cost a hell of a lot too, right? Hard to say what the difference in cost between physical and digital distribution is. (Must be a break-down article about it somewhere?)
Shorty Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 The online infrastructure required to allow millions of consumers to download 50gb + games must cost a hell of a lot too, right? Hard to say what the difference in cost between physical and digital distribution is. (Must be a break-down article about it somewhere?) Not as much as you'd think, with server farms and the like. Steam does it just fine and at bargain prices. Maybe not 50GB but they have free to play games like TF2 which clock in at over 12GB.
