Ashley Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Kanye believe it? This place is 14 years old! I did a news piece/thanks guys about it here if anyone cares: http://n-europe.com/news.php?nid=16698 Big shout out to everyone who has made this place what it is and helped to keep it going NOW LET'S PARTY!
Ashley Posted January 7, 2012 Author Posted January 7, 2012 At first I thought that was a weird '4 more years!' reference then realised...
Magnus Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 They grow up so fast... Two more years... Man, we really need to find you a woman.
Cube Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Damn, older than Serebii.net too. Ancient! Older than Google.
Mokong Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Happy Birthday N-Europe Without you this forum would in fact be nothing like a vitual home to me and everyone else
Jonnas Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 N-E is a golden oldie. A long-runner if you will. Is there any noteworthy site older than N-E? Maybe Yahoo... I first discovered this site in a Portuguese forum that no longer exists, back when it was Cube-Europe. It was the only reliable source of Nintendo news (still is my preferred gaming news site), but I was always reluctant to join any forum at all back then. Some time in 2007, I started visiting the forums more regularly, liked what I saw, and eventually joined (I recall the trigger being a thread about Wind Waker vs. Twilight Princess. Serious stuff, Zelda ) It's still my favourite online community, of course May N-E live for much longer, as it still is going quite strong.
MoogleViper Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 You can also check out our special celebratory signatures made by our graphics team member Fresh. I read that as "celebrity signatures". Thought Ashley might be getting delusions of grandeur.
nightwolf Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 (edited) Holy moly, happy birthday N-E. I don't know what I'd be without you guys and n-e, where would I go when online? I remember the reason I first started here was to figure out why my ds dongle wasn't working. Gosh even that was an age ago. Edited January 7, 2012 by nightwolf
ReZourceman Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Two more years... Amazing. But....you are wrong, Google was there from the beginning of the internet. It is the Adam and Eve.
Rummy Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Wow, quite an achievement imo! Happy birthday to N-E!
Dog-amoto Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 What are the chances of N-E ever being bought out by a faceless corporation like tends to happen with popular independent sites?
Mokong Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 What are the chances of N-E ever being bought out by a faceless corporation like tends to happen with popular independent sites? should be none, considering we dodged a bullet like that last year I think it was Ash stood up and told Sony they could shove their money up their collective asses before showing them a full moon
Kav Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Happy birthday N-E! My favourite site on the net by far, even more than pornhub haha. I remember stumbling upon the site back at the end of it's N64-Europe days whilst I was looking for discussion about the Big N's next home console. I love you N-E!
Serebii Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 should be none, considering we dodged a bullet like that last year I think it was Ash stood up and told Sony they could shove their money up their collective asses before showing them a full moon Sony were trying to buy a Nintendo focused website?
Adthegreat Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Been visiting this site for about 7 years, and I don't intend to stop anytime soon! Keep up the great work
Fierce_LiNk Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Happy Birthday, N-E. Best Nintendo website and forum by far. *flushes the Cubed3 logo down the toilet*
D_prOdigy Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 What are the chances of N-E ever being bought out by a faceless corporation like tends to happen with popular independent sites? Sadly, probably slim. Don't let anyone tell you they wouldn't sell out for hookers and blow.
Sheikah Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Sony were trying to buy a Nintendo focused website? This suddenly conjures images like when Bill Gates 'bought out' Homer's company in the Simpsons.
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 N-Europe is a close community of people I don't hesitate to call my friends on the same level as people who live in the same city as me. I know for a fact that my time here has made me a better person, and I couldn't imagine life without it. To N-Europe!
Wesley Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Holy crap, just realised I've been reading the title of this place wrong for ages!
Hellfire Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Partay time yeaah! A big thank you to the readers, the forumites and the staff, both old and new. You people make killing writing sporadically sorta fun.
The Peeps Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 I love N-E, I'm glad it's still here after all this time I joined just after the change to Cube-Europe and lurked. Can't remember when I started posting but I mostly kept to the consoles sections and gradually crept up. This site has the best community I've ever found on the internet, somehow managing to be quite diverse while maintaining an overall common ground. Everyone has their own opinion but they're levelled enough to deal with others which allows for some great discussion threads. Big thanks to all the members and staff for making this place what it is!
