Guy Posted April 28, 2012 Share Posted April 28, 2012 As someone who often gets stuck listening to the same stuff over and over, I've been using Spotify's Artist Radio to discover stuff similar to what I like. So far that little green circle has put some great sounds into my ears. I managed to get addicted to music from Jonathan Coulton today. He wrote the Still Alive song from Portal and his stuff has geeky, fun lyrics. Very listenable if this sorta stuff pleases you like it does me. Really like Amy Macdonald. Deserves more success - this is a typical song from her but tis catchy! Love this. Can't wait to hear more from her. Their 1st album, at first, seems just OK. Like, a 6/10. But after many listens each track feels really essential & single worthy. This is the one I always come back to. Her voice is stunning in Lies, and I love a decent mid-tempo break-up song with a hint of melancholy, which Starring Role encompasses perfectly. Purely because it came out at one of the happiest times of my life so far! 2005, at college, all things going as good as they could have! Not to say life isn't good now ha, but 2005 was one of my fave years and this song will always remind me of that time. This and Gwen Stefani's 'Cool'. Which is just *speechless*.
