  1. They won't be now... Yeah...Managed to get one for home delivery from Smyths! fortunately
  2. Yeah checked Argos, no joy with the Switch but managed to order a Lite for collection tomorrow...if they're still open.
  3. Anyone happen to know when the Switch is gonna be back in stock? Seem to be sold out everywhere - appreciate this might be somewhat coronavirus related but most other consoles and games seem fairly well stocked.
  4. Abramovich would save himself a fortune in compensation if he didn't give every new manager a 3 year deal, that final year is never needed.
  5. Game changed when Sterling went off, yes he was pony in front of goal but his pace gave them an outball and in absence of him they just resorted to long ball's that did nothing. Harry Kane faded badly in the last two games and Rashford offered nothing when he came on throughout the tournament. Really there was only one option. Danny Welbeck Certainly no disgrace from England, did way better than expected, just a shame to let such a great opportunity slip away. Regardless of who won last night, I feared for them against France in the final.
  6. You really do not need to be doing higher than a set of 5 for Deadlifts, if you drop the reps and up the weight. I usually do a couple of lighter sets before doing 3 sets at my working weight.
  7. Last year I ran two half marathons in a 3 week period. I trained for 12 weeks leading up the first one which I did in 1:33:34, finishing 180th overall. 3 week later I did the Amsterdam one and ran it in 1:39.01. Looking back on this I wouldn't go two so close to each other again, unless it was literally a week. You go from such a high to the low of going back to training for the 3 weeks between races and it's really hard to run the long run in between again. So much of doing a good time is down to conditions. It was 30 degrees for the Amsterdam race and it was absolutely mind over matter. I saw people collapse on the course from exhaustion and the heat and personally it was the worst experience of my life, the last few miles in particular were brutal. The reason I mention all this? Starting training for the Hackney Half Marathon on Monday. Hoping for a sub 1 hour 30 minutes time hopefully!
  8. Wasn't overly impressed with this. Like The Force Awakens, it seems to be be a myriad of recycled plot ideas from the original trilogy with no substance. The whole space scene with Leia was frankly absurd and really had no time for Luke's arc at all.
  9. Been a rough few weeks of late. My grandma passed away after a long battle with dementia and two days ago my cat died. He went in for a minor operation on his tooth, came through it unscathed but sometime later he stop breathing. The vets tried to resuscitate him but to no avail. Breaks my heart to think he was there all alone and I really can't imagine going back home for Christmas now knowing he won't be there.
  10. Can't speak for London but I have used Uber hundreds of time in Edinburgh and cannot recommend it enough. Taking options away from people is never a good thing and keeping down technological advances won't wash for long. I understand Uber need to improve their business practices but a lot of this seems like smoke and mirrors used to disguise that they don't want to take away from the black cab business.
  11. Signed up to run two half marathons in 3 weeks which start in a couple of months. Scottish Half Marathon on September 24th and then the Amsterdam Half Marathon on the 14th of October. Feels strange to kinda of abandon the gym (still go at least once a week) for running every day but training is going pretty well so far and I'm aiming to get somewhere near the 1 hour 30 minute mark for the first one. If anyone fancies donating to my charitable cause, would much appreciate it http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/fundraiserPortalHome.action
  12. It really depends on what you want to learn? Do you want to more about the theory of music? reading music, understanding time signatures and music notation? Or are you interested in learning more technically about an instrument like the guitar for example. How notes relate to each other? what makes a chord? Switching chords? building musical sequences.
  13. I don't really get offended that much and I definitely agree with what most people have said. Dead baby jokes don't personally offend me but as Moogle said they are in no way a joke, it's not humour, it's just dark twisted. I guess for me the only time I would be offended is if someone took maybe some insecurity or issue I had and used it to make a joke at my expense. Probably wouldn't be too big a fan of that. As Flink has said, a lot of it comes down to context, if you think someone might take offence to a particular joke, be it because of race, personal history etc, don't make that "joke".
  14. Not to shit on anything you said as I know first hand what it's like to go through something like that. I had to wait the best part of 4 years before I could get throat surgery and unfortunately i couldn't afford to go private and there were very few surgeons who able to carry out what I needed. Anywayyyy, I still am very grateful to the NHS for everything they did for me, certainly wasn't an ideal amount of time to wait but I didn't really have any alternative.
  15. That would depend on what season of Veronica Mars you are referring too.
