Ashley Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Maybe you should just do what all the strange and fucked up people do; become a MP.
Cube Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 I don't believe in democracy. Then change it. Get into power, become prime minister, secretly start a war, say that you need direct power over all things (including the police and army) to win the war, use the war to get rid of all your opponents and those who would stop you, win the war you control then finally declare an empire.
bob Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Bad stuff: The MP debate on gay marriage. Worse stuff: The comments under the BBC news article on gay marriage.

drahkon Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 I hear ya, @Daft Burst into tears this morning...didn't really help with my situation. Still feel sick. Probably won't be able to work on Thursday and Friday.
Tales Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 So long story short, I don't have any close friends. I know a lot of people, but I don't have anyone who would call me their best friend. Result is I have to read or hear about everyone elses great trip faraway or their cabin trip which is basically a thing over here. Personally I haven't been abroad in six years, let alone a measly cabin trip ever. So I post some messages on Facebook, knowing of course no one would respond, they are friends, but not spending thousands of money on a few days trip kinda of friends. After feeling very bad for a while and drinking some I kinda posted more messages than I should have, one looking more desperate than the other. After a while I got told on private chat to basically shut the fuck up. Really brought me down.
martinist Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 So i was trying to get to sleep and at around 4:00am i finally fall asleep. The problem is i wake up an hour later and now i'm probably gonna feel really tired all day. Damn body clock! why won't you be normal!?

There's no shame in travelling on your own, and more often than not, you'll have a better time than if you go with people who will just ruin it for you. I've been to conferences on my own, and when you get to plan exactly what you want to do, you can have an awesome time!
jayseven Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 @Tales you are doing the right thing by reaching out to them -- contacting some friends and letting them know about how down you're feeling will help you identify friends that care. Be aware that friendships are always two-way and that a lot of the time one can find themselves left out of social circles because they stopped accepting invites out, and never acted as the agent of organisation, or harbinger of party timez. The person who said stfu is insensitive. Perhaps we're hearing it out of context, but why not unfriend? We've said before that getting out and socialising is the way forward. Find clubs to join, do a course, start a new hobby. I know it's always easier said than done but how else will it happen?

Jon Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Reading this thread reminds me of certain people I know that always complain things and how they wish they could change them. I ain't no shrink yo, but one of the most powerful things in life is your own free will, the power to change things. I hate when people say respond with "it's easier said that done". Of course it fucking it is, but you'll only get out of life what you put into it. It's very hard to better the sense of accomplishment you get from doing something you never thought you could, no matter how simple or difficult it may seem. Yes, everyone goes through bad times and some poor souls have it worse than others but there's nothing to be gained by feeling sorry for yourself. Whatever is you want to do, go out and get it done. It could be as simple as just making conversation. Not a rant at anyone here, just my annoyance with the world nowadays. In a society where we're given everything fairly easily and the world has gone crazy with political correctness and z-list celebrities. A random generalisation but so many people nowadays have no will power or gumption to go out and make shit happen. I sound like my old man now. Uggh.
drahkon Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Reading this thread reminds me of certain people I know that always complain things and how they wish they could change them. This is what pisses me off most about myself. I keep ranting about how shitty everything is (especially right now) but I don't try to change it. But I am determined to do exactly that. Let time mend my heart and in the meantime I'll be mending my life and myself. Wish I could say that right now with 100% determination but hey...it's better than nothing, right?

All it takes is to break it once and see a bit of success and things will change. Breaking a habit is one of the hardest things to do.

Damn right, get out there and TAKE LIFE BY THE BALLS. (i sound way cooler than you old man ) Also: migraine pls go away
Daft Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I got the WORST fucking puncture. It's put a proper gash in my tyre. Aaaargh, the replacement inner tubing isn't going to survive the journey to work tomorrow, I can tell.
Iun Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Damn right, get out there and TAKE LIFE BY THE BALLS. (i sound way cooler than you old man ) Also: migraine pls go away Dammit, Hannah, those are half my balls! They're not meant for that kind of rough treatment!
Iun Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Fuckity, balls, bastard fuck fuck fuck. I caught a pickpocket today. I was walking along the road when one guy suddenly passed an umbrella to a guy who was just walking past him...next thing I know, one of them has his hand in the pocket of a woman in front. I tackle the guy and force him onto the railing at the side of the road, yell at the woman who is looking like an absolute fucking idiot just standing there "call the police" she just keeps staring like she's seen my dick or something. Meanwhile, the guy's friend has gotten behind me and clubbed me round the back of the head. They both run, and I get up and run after them yelling - they run past ten people and NOT FUCKING ONE OF THEM TRIES TO STOP THE PICKPOCKETS. Not one. Everybody says "ooh, you should call the police!" But none of them are any more helpful than that. I get back to the scene and the woman has disappeared. Fucking gawking idiots all around, but not a one willing to do a thing. Next time, I'm just going to fucking stab the thief and have done with it. And to top it off, I didn't get the job I went for in a bigger school. What's the point of being such a decent fucking human being if you live on the breadline all your life? No sanctimonious shit, please.
S.C.G Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 What's the point of being such a decent fucking human being if you live on the breadline all your life? No sanctimonious shit, please. That's fucking bullshit, you went out of your way to help and no one around did a damn thing? I don't blame you for being pissed off, I'd even say you're entitled to be, fuck I know I'd be livid!
Iun Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 (edited) I'm mostly angry because they got away. It makes me feel weak. And also the woman just standing there... Call the police, you stupid bitch. Edited February 7, 2013 by Iun
S.C.G Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 I'm mostly angry because they got away. It makes me feel weak. You did all that you could though, it is as you said, 'no one else helped' yet they could have, but they didn't so there's the difference. You're one of the strongest people I know, personally I feel genuinely proud of you so please try not to feel so bad.

bob Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Well now i don't know what to think, do you want sanctimonious shit or don't you?
Ramar Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 @Iun is like a real life badass. Fair play and unlucky you didn't catch the bastards.
