Pokemon Food Products!!! next in line... Tropious Banana's, Chansey's Free Range Eggs, Farfetch'd Aproved Leek and of Course Milktank MooMoo Milk yeah limited resources.. with paint and flamingtext.com! what do you guys do to pass time at work when you're not in full work mode?
Cube Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 I'm on here all day at work. The boss is in the same room but never notices.
Raining_again Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 I've never not got work to do... Our boss pulls up data reports on all the work we've done, so they can tell regardless of being in the office.
Nolan Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 My work consists of watching dogs and occasionally talking to an owner/answering the phone. I'm the only one there, so naturally I do whatever I feel like, usually play my DS for about 7 hours and get paid to do so. Occasionally I'll take my 360 though.
Guy Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 I either browse Amazon as it's one of the only unfiltered sites I can get on, draw Akira Toriyama eyes or put together lists of random insane crap for my colleague to draw into hilariously epic montages.
Dog-amoto Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 If I do anything other than concentrate on work then I will likely die. But between lessons, I'll just play on my iPhone, checking Facebook, N-E and playing Football Manager. Goodness knows how I stayed sane before I had that thing
LostOverThere Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 This is going to sound odd, but I open the paper-hole-puncher and run my fingers through the little bits of paper before putting them in the bin. For some reason, I get immense satisfaction out of this.
Debug Mode Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 I bunk work. But when I am at work, I sit in my hiding place and cruise the internet on my phone, visualising the internet as outer space and me riding a keyboard as if it's a skate board.
Ten10 Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Listen to podcasts, read news, check out articles on web development. Take long lunch breaks. Shop online, text friends. The list goes on......
Shorty Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Well... I'm on here... sometimes I play Modern Warfare 2 with everyone else in the office...
Goafer Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 It's a bit quiet at work at the moment due to the Schools being on summer holidays. Generally we mooch around trying to look busy, help out other departments (I got to drive to/in central London today. Win) and print our own photos. My bestest efforts (not the canvas print):
Guy Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Today the person who usually sits beside me is taking the day off, so I'm going to see if I can double up on his computer station and log into my old profile that has unfiltered Internet to browse at my leisure doing downtime.
Diageo Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Well it's nice to see today's work force take their work so seriously. No wonder we're in recession :P I haven't ever worked in an office so I can't imagine how it would be, but I know during computer class everyone had a cheeky webpage loading in the background of the actual work.
Raining_again Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Well it's nice to see today's work force take their work so seriously. No wonder we're in recession :PI haven't ever worked in an office so I can't imagine how it would be, but I know during computer class everyone had a cheeky webpage loading in the background of the actual work. a lot of offices have internet filtered/blocked. I know in my old office it was blocked entirely, thankfully we use an external site now and have to have internet access to get on our internal servers :P but its still filtered. All dodgy stuff, and any page with a video on it is blocked My office is constantly working, we don't have the chance to skive.. outside of our calls we have to do monotonous data input. Its gotten worse for us with the recession, we've had to do more work for less money
Raining_again Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 I work... hence why I'm there? I am SO glad i'm not the only one! *high five*
Fierce_LiNk Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 He did say in the very first sentence in the original post "apart from work." I have one very fond memory of playing ConnectFour with a little group after they had finished their work. That was great fun.
Happenstance Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 When I used to work testing phones for Orange we would usually get one of the phones and start a game of Monopoly on it then just pass it around all day. Seperately we'd just look through all the phones with cameras and see what photos/videos there were.
S.C.G Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 I am SO glad i'm not the only one! *high five* *high five* get us aye? a right pair of dedicated workers. He did say in the very first sentence in the original post "apart from work." Yeah but... I literally don't have time to do anything else at work except what I should be doing because there's always something to do, I don't mind so much though because it can never be disputed that I don't actually earn my wage and it makes the time pass quickly.
Ashley Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 At my current job I seldom have time to not work. Although the other day I did read a magazine in our little cupboard because it was an awkward period whereby there was nothing for me to do. Or drink a 'compliment cup' of coke. Game was the best, we had such fun not doing work. Play the DS, wind each other up (e.g. hiding the Roger Rodriquez standee in the toilets), wander off to other shops, play the "if we were to get in a fight which item from the store would you use?" game etc. During the World Cup (2006) we had those shitty little triangular flags on a string the company sent in dangling off the roof so we used a small stuffed football we got from somewhere and played volleyball. Oh and put the toys into sexual positions to see if customers would notice!
Tissue Town Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Browse the iphone. Chat with work mates and have lots of lols. Or just go home early. Flexitime <3 But the thing is, crunch time means I don't have much downtime. There is loads of work to do.
Jon Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Head tennis. We've got a football under one of the desks and an old badminton net, so when things are slow we get our tennis on.
