Hellfire Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Hell yeah, let's hope he does a good job, it won't be easy.
Haver Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Gore Vidal of course a highlight as usual. If only Mailer was still with us. gg Obama
EchoDesiato Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I just woke up to see Obama has won. Awesome!
Gentleben Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I just woke up to see Obama has won. Awesome! I never had any doubt he wouldn't win.
S.C.G Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I'm sure he will do an excellent job, gotta be better than Bush anyway. >>
D_prOdigy Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Florida went blue... already! All round, it wasn't so close afterall...
Jonnas Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Woohoo! Obama won! 'Bout time the elected president was the one I preferred. I never had any doubt he wouldn't win. Wait, then... Your prediction was wrong
ShavenWolf Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 This is fantastic news! I'm glad that America got it right this time.
Ganepark32 Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Good on him for winning it. I did think it'd be a little bit closer, although as of this moment there are still roughly 4 states who haven't put up their winner according to the BBC. I think the Republicans should be ashamed of themselves though. In McCain's defeat speech, when he congradulated Obama, they stood and booed and hissed. Bunch of rednecks. Get over it.
Pestneb Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 This is fantastic news! I'm glad that America got it right this time. Bit presumptuous. surely we should wait and see what happens before we state they made the right choice. In fact, perhaps there wasn't even a right choice available for all we know... To be honest, to me this election seemed to be based too much on an anti bush sentiment than on the merits of the individual candidates, which isn't a good thing in my eyes (though it is understandable). The fact that the senate, house AND president are all from the same party is concerning, especially with the margins involved in the house and senate. One thing I will say is (imo indisputably) good is that it breaks the invisible barrier of race when it comes to president. McCain was gracious in defeat too, which is nice to see.
The fish Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Wow, just woke up to see the latest results - Obama took Indiana AND Florida AND Virginia AND Nevada! Only North Carolina and Missouri to go - I reckon at least one of them will push Obama into landslide country.
Slaggis Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 FUCK YES Finally, America has done something right. Good for them, and us. I was up till half 2 watching bbc news, but I went to bed because I knew by that point it was obvious he was going to win.
ReZourceman Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Did anyone see GMTV this morning? A bloke streaked during a "Lets ask the public about Obama" bit. I whacked the ole beast on YouTube if yo' wanna see it. http://www.YouTube.com/ReZourceman. Standard.
Falcon_BlizZACK Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Um...The PATRIOTS are still in charge!!!1
CooInTheZoo Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I woke up for college, put on BBC news (almost unused channel before yesterday) and I'm still sitting here five hours later with a big smile on my face. If he sticks by half his big promises, I'll be happy.
Eenuh Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I think it's great that he won, but now we just have to wait and see if he can actually change things for the better, which will take a long time to do I'm sure.
Letty Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I think he actually goes into office in January. I think its great news though!!
