jayseven Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 I don't see why people wanted Dinosaur Planet... not having Fox and co in teh game wouldn't have made it any better, or any different... Also Dead phoenix looks... poor, if you ask me!
Olympic Gamer Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Mentioned before and I totally agree, Sonic X-Treme. Probably the biggest nail in the coffin for sega. Sonic pulled in alot of customers for sega consoles, and the saturn really could of used that. Spherical levels way before Super Mario Galaxy too. Also, I swear I heard of a Skies of Arcadia 2 shortly after it was released for the dreamcast and was never heard of again, so I'm presuming thats canned/waiting in the shadows.
Fresh Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Also Dead phoenix looks... poor, if you ask me! Rumors are that Dead Phoenix may still be released one day as a Kid Icarus game. You have to admit the lead character does look a lot like pit.
mr_bogus Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 They should release Dead Phoenix for Wii! *flap flap* Also, Castlevania Ressurection for Dreamcast. And Half-Life for Dreamcast (tho i have a downloaded copy of the beta, hehe) Apparently the original N64 Dino Planet's story was a lot more robust before the Starfox characters were thrown into it.
Alsnow Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Sam and max 2 by lucas arts (the orignal voice actors were so much better) full throttle 2 Toonstruck 2 Still want monkey island 5 damn it
Guest Jordan Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 And Half-Life for Dreamcast (tho i have a downloaded copy of the beta, hehe) You know, that's actually the final retail game its just the save system is fucked on it.
Coolness Bears Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Was there a final fantasy for the N64 that was being made then got cancelled? I remember reading it somewhere...
darksnowman Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Yeah it ended up being Final Fantasy VII, right? But I'm actually not sure whether it was a game or not that was shown for the N64. Rather more of a tech demo because it had characters from FF VI in it, as far as I remember- but I could be wrong.
Cube Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Was there a final fantasy for the N64 that was being made then got cancelled? Didn't MGS and GTA also have N64 versions in development at one point?

Coolness Bears Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Didn't MGS and GTA also have N64 versions in development at one point? I don't know. :p Wow! If that's true I find that fascinating as well. I didn't know this about several different games. Reading over this thread I had no idea a lot of these games were ever planned! I believe it got ported to the PS1. Yeah it ended up being Final Fantasy VII, right? But I'm actually not sure whether it was a game or not that was shown for the N64. Rather more of a tech demo because it had characters from FF VI in it, as far as I remember- but I could be wrong. Ah ok. Thanks. Wondered whether what I read was true. So It may have just been a demo, interesting. If it remained on the N64 I would have played it. I'm interested into why they changed consoles. or perhaps they had never truely decided? Looking at the video I can see how it can be viewed as a tech demo or as the beginning's of an actual game. I'm going to look into this more and at other games I never knew existed.
darksnowman Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 They changed consoles for the benefits of putting FF VII on a CD based console, so they could fit in all the FMV etc. Its the reason for the big Nintendo/ Square bust up of yore.

Ah I see, thanks Darksnowman. I need to learn more of my videogame history. :p
Aimless Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Skies of Arcadia 2. The Overworks team are spread throughout Sega now, as far as I know, so even if some form of successor does appear I'd be cautious of it.
Start/Select Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 I feel silly that I shoudl be blabbering about how much the world needs Shenmue 3 but let us not forget, Metroid Dread for the DS? I was excited for this after how much I enjoyed Metroid Fusion and hated Metroid Hunters. Shame they cancelled it -p
Cube Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Metroid Dread for the DS? That's if NOM just didn't make it up.
dazzybee Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 One game only. Akira for the SNES. I waited for that game.......and waited........and -- you get the idea

Ive been hearing about this game for years but compare it to mario 64 which would have been released around the same time. this was Never going to save the saturn.. Nothing could. most games are cancelled for a reason not just to piss people off... raven blade looks bad among many others. Didn't MGS and GTA also have N64 versions in development at one point? not sure about metal gear solid.. but an n64 version and even a saturn one was planned for gta.. moreso a saturn one but the console was dying fast. not sure why the n64 one was never made.
mr_bogus Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Just thought of a couple more: Banjo Pilot (3D version) for GBA, before it reverted to the mode7 Diddy Kong Pilot hack: Fire & Ice - megadrive version, here's some gameplay of the Amiga version. Apparently the megadrive version was completed but never found a publisher.
steggy Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 I'm probably in the minority here but Anachronox 2 Especially as it ends on a cliffhanger, and had a really good plot. Such a good plot that it was made into a machima movie and won 3 Awards at the 2002 Machinima Film Festival.
SHUCKLE MAN Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 I'd say Star Fox 2. I've actually played the game and it was awesome!
