Ah the famous words. We've all heard them....heck most of us have probably used them.

Things like

"I don't mean to be funny, but"

and

"No offence..."

But whatever the next line is, you can guarentee that its a complete opposite to what they prepared you for.

"I dont mean to be funny, but Im going to be really funny"

Lozzles.

"I don't mean to be funny but...you have something on your head...yeah right there...oh wait.

It's your face."

I hope you don't take this the wrong way but.....I'm going to totally insult you and make you feel bad anyway..

...and then make out it's your fault for 'taking it the wrong way'. Oo-er.

"I don't mean to be funny.."?

Who says that?

It's "I'm not being funny, but.."

Anyway. I don't mind it. Usually people use it just to make what they're trying to say or point out not sound as bad. Like if someone said "No offence, but i really don;t like your drawing", it's just them making it sound better, and that it's not you they dislike. It sounds better too.

"i don't mean to be rascist but..." :shakehead

That's my favourite one i've heard someone use..... It is a really annoying! It's like a get out clause for someone to offend you!

That one fits in some situations, though - sort of to mean "people usually say this but political correctness is currently stupid so I have no idea if this has suddenly become unacceptable for no reason."

Worst of all is "you're a great guy but..."

Agreed.

Because thats outright harsh to. You try taking that... its not as easy as you think..

It may be harsh, but at least its both honest and doesn't piss me off.

This may sound a little weird but... I want to give you anal...

If its going to sound weird, even a warning won't stop me from thinking wtf.

That's because it MAY sound weird, you might actually welcome the sensation of a cock up your ass.
