:p

Went to an antique shop today. It was amazing. I got me a WW2 compass and a mini tripod thing:

There are more pictures of the compass in the photography thread.[/shameless self plug]

Those compass are still used. Although they have been modified slightly. But essentially there are still compass from WW2 beingused in afghanistan. Just thaught you might like to know.

It seems to be really well produced...they really do get better. I like getting the official FF guides mostly for the sidequesting/bestiary, and because they look pretty nice. Apparently I have copy # 209,122 out of 210,000.

How many pages does it have? I am probably going to do everything myself, but I was thinking about buying it just for the collector in me. I have the FFXII hardcover version, and it is awesome. Over 400 pages, the cover looks like an ancient tome and it has a nice thread attached to be used as a bookmark.

That's quite cool to know.

Mine's got 1941 engraved on the back, so I haven't been scammed!

No point chucking out what ain't broke.

Mine barely works. I think the magnets or whatever have weakened to the point where it will still turn itself, but seems to take a while and might get stuck pointing at something other than North.

There was so much stuff I wanted to buy in the antiques shop. I saw an old oil lantern, goggles (looked like something out of Mad Max), signs and whistles from the railway section. Also saw loads of old photography equipment (from the section I got the mini tripod from) and watches. I'm definately going back there at some point and looking out for other antique shops on my travels. They're such interesting places.

Yeah I have that too. I really like this one since it's white with the logo...that's how I think they should be.

It's numbered up to 271, which is probably enough (I think the XII guide went on a little). It looks thicker though, and the presentation is really nice.

I bought a new alarm clock from Argos because after years of the same annoying alarm tone, i realised that if the first sound you hear when you enter consciousness in the morning makes you want to smash something... it's not the best start to the day is it.

So i bought this, thinking "it's so lovely and blue, it could never piss me off".

But it's a bit strangely designed. It only lets you press Snooze 3 times before it just shuts off. Wtf?? So "ok you've had you're chance, now i'm just going to let you sleep in for work". What sadist designed it??

Also if you want to see the time during the night, you have to press down on it to light it up, and get blinded by led light.

It was Mother's Day, and it seems any 90s revival does well at the moment, plus Gately died...

I still see face.

I think I've purchased train tickets. Got confirmation for one way, but not the way back. Will ring them tomorrow if I don't read anything. Finally got confirmation. Huzzah. London next week!

(looks more exciting in Japanese)

With that figure thing I'll stick on a shelf and forget about.

This whole not spending money thing is going swimmingly!
