Pretty damn solid list. I pretty much find no fault with it at all, outside of the GBA list. All I'd say is that I'd add Advance Wars, Fire Emblem, Wario Land 4 and Super Mario Advance to the GBA section (The first for being genre defining titles, where both series were brought to the west for the first time thanks to the GBA, the third for being the apex of a series that defined the entire line of Game Boy platforms and truly represented an "Advanced" take on action platformers thanks to the GBA's capabilities, and the fourth one for being the game that started the cavalcade of SNES ports that flooded the platform). I'd also strongly consider adding Super Mario 3D Land and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds onto the 3DS list; being the obvious standout games that made the best use of the S3D feature.

Magical Drop 3 has video capture support! Hamster are now seemingly adding video capture support in their ACA releases! Fake Edit: And they also seem to be going back and adding support for it in their past release now too; because Metal Slug 3 just got an update to add video capture support!

Not a very well cut trailer TBH. Still, it looks like it'll be a decent little adventure game; just hope that it isn't too cutscene heavy.

Unfortunately there's nothing available for N64 right now. I do remember hearing that 8 Bit-do were considering making a wireless controller/reciever for the N64 at some point, so keep an eye out for them. Their controllers are generally very good (I have their NES30 arcade stick and it's a quality piece of kit), so here's hoping they move up to N64 sooner rather than later!

A beautiful mess tonight. Love it! Got some beautiful highlights coming ( @Glen-i will be posting them) -
Aww man. I actually really liked those designs (especially Platypond, he was my fave)

Not an official announcement for Switch yet, but I reckon it’ll probably happen. SEGA seem to be all-in on Switch now

True. But we don't know what draft this is. It could be a later and more refined draft than what we saw leaked from the Gen 7 games. It could go either way, but I'm gonna lean slightly more towards them being real. They actually do look like real Pokemon designs and look just like something Sugimori or Ohmura would design, unlike most fakes. If they are real, I'd be very happy with them! They all look pretty great, especially the platypus one! (about time we got a platypus Pokemon anyway!) Australia would be my choice of inspiration for the new region personally. Lots of variety in locales, lovely mountaneous areas and a killer desert! (Also potential for New Zealand as a post-game region you unlock )

One of the very few open world games I really genuinely like. Will cop this one on PC.

Lol same. It was hilariously metal!

Full update notes! (most important bit is in bold!)

Just tried out the new controls! OH MY GOD YES!!! They're EXACTLY what I wanted! They work SO damn well! I want these controls for ALL FPS games on Switch! They work just as well as you'd hope they would! This is how it should've been from the beginning! The only thing that's a bit of a shame is that you can't have the glory kills mapped to a shake of the controller and have gyro aiming at the same time for some silly reason. Hope they fix that, because that would work very very well if they do... (even if it's mapped to the other Joy-con!) The game also seems to be running at a higher resolution now too; it's especially noticeable in handheld mode! The text is a lot more readable now

MM8 is the only PS1 MM game and the PSN iso is 235.42MB. How on earth they managed to turn that into 5GB, I have no idea!
-
More importantly... Why the hell is MMC2 almost 5GB to begin with!?
-
A new WR has been set for SMB! Absolutely crazy that speed runners are still managing to lower the record, even after all this time!

Splitting it is a bit crappy when they’ve already done a (nearly) complete collection once before on the GCN/PS2, but oh well...

Oh you’re gonna LOVE B/W2! I can’t believe you’ve never played them! They’re great sequels that do a lot to answer the questions left by B/W... (perhaps not all though ) And if you like the moral ambiguity that B/W present regarding the ethics of the Pokemon series... whoo boy! There is some great stuff that gets really dark in the sequel... Let’s just say that the writers were very brave and didn’t really try to hammer home an unbalanced justification in their favour... They very much leave it to your interpretation, especially if you explore some of the side stories...

Yeah, that’s an important thing to note. Though these write-ups have been focused on the large gameplay mechanic changes the series has gone through, the games themselves are more than just their raw mechanics. Things like level design have changed dramatically over the course of time. In particular, the level design saw a seismic shift in Gen 5, where Unova presented a dual linear route layout with its world, laying out every town in a direct path where you could swap between two directions. It was also the first game that made ALL HM usage entirely optional, as it took out all HM roadblocks from the critical path and used them entirely for optional areas. Likewise, you’ve also seen a shift towards having things like time limited areas and cryptic mysteries, like the Mirage Islands in Gen 3, the deeper areas of Mt Coronet in Gen 4 and the underwater ruins in Gen 5. And then there’s the trend of unresolved mysteries, like the Ghost Girl in Gen 6. The newer games are filled with tons of little vignettes and areas with self-contained stories that really breath tons of life into their worlds! You’ve also seen a shift towards a stronger focus on narrative and a shift away from the open world design of previous games towards something more linear and cutscene driven (perhaps taken to too far an extreme for many people in Gen 7, where they really went overboard with roadblocking and a focus on cutscenes!). Even when not introducing major new mechanics, the games have innovated in tons of different ways. From new Pokemon, to new kinds of settings, to new kinds of mini games, to a side story in Gen 5 where you go on a Ferris wheel ride with an estranged lover who confides in you and wants to find comfort in you, with VERY strong sexual undertones! (Yes, your choice of gender does determine the NPC’s gender; in fact, this becomes an implied gay/lesbian relationship in B2/W2 - where you meet an equivalent NPC, with a similar story and their gender is swapped to match your own!). To look at the big mechanic changes alone only scratches the surface about how the games have changed over the years. It’s really interesting to look how the designs of the mainline games have changed over the years and how the philosophy of the develops have changed too. They’ve also gotten REALLY good at ghost stories too... The Pokédex entries in the newer games are bloody frightening and disturbing! How they get away with a PEGI 7, I have no idea!

Advice needed - best '3ds family' console for a 6 year old?
Dcubed replied to Rummy's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I'd vote for New2DS too. It's pretty cheap, plays everything without issue and the clamshell design helps prevent damage to the screen. -
That's a pretty big last minute delay! The bugs must've been pretty bad...

Disney as a whole have actually been really good about re-releases of their old licensed titles in recent years. Stuff like Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, the Disney Afternoon Collection, the Kingdom Hearts re-releases... While Lucasfilm might be controlling in regards to new games being made, I reckon that Disney will actually be quite supportive of re-releases of older titles. The Super Star Wars port (of the previously un-released PC version) on PS4 happened under their jurisdiction after all.
-
Would be beautiful, poetic justice for how much EA have screwed up with the license. Probably won't happen for quite some time though. While I wouldn't exactly be ecstatic about Activision or Ubisoft nabbing the license, they'd both surely be a darn sight better than EA! And probably much more willing to work with outside partners and/or enable the re-release of past Star Wars games too. Plus, you know, it would be a giant middle finger to EA, so I'd naturally be all for it!

I've seen some speculation about it, but I just don't see it being anything else. The imagery doesn't make me think of Tenchu, the font used is reminiscent of Bloodborne and the SoulsBorne games are massive money spinners for From Software right now. Easy hype spinner for Sony too. They'd definitely be willing to fund an exclusive sequel that helps sell PS4 Pros; much less so for something like Tenchu.
