  1. (Pokes head in thread) I... I understand... (Slowly backs out of thread)
  2. ... that's actually the intention... It's a big celebration of indie games and Suda's roots as an indie developer. Most importantly, it looks like the writing and the style is exactly what you'd hope for from a Suda directed game! His absence as director has been very noticeable in every game that Grasshopper has put out since the original NMH (The last game Suda himself directed), but this definitely seems to be channeling those vibes that made his games such classics!
  3. @Glen-i's gonna be happy... Looks like the Switch version runs at 1080p 60FPS in docked mode! (Cutscenes still seem to run at 30FPS) That's a pretty enormous jump in that case! (Indeed it's the biggest jump we've seen from a Wii U port so far! Going from 720p 30FPS to 1080p 60FPS!) After the really disappointing performance bumps we saw in Pokken and Bayonetta 1 & 2, this is a very welcome surprise!
  4. Hey there. Was just chatting with a friend about the insane, meteoric rise of indie titles on Switch and got interested in looking at how it compares to past Nintendo consoles. I reckon that our napkin math makes for some interesting discussion... From playing around with the different shop search features, discounting VC releases, duplicate listings for alternate versions and demos on 3DS and in removing all games that were originally designed for retail (so indie games that later got limited retail releases are still counted), here are the results! Digital exclusive downloadable games available in Europe... WiiWare = 281 DSiWare = 427 3DS (including New3DS exclusive releases) = 546 Wii U = 506 Switch = 497 So, come tomorrow, Switch will likely surpass Wii U’s lifetime total number of games, just a year after launch! Absolutely nutso! TBH, what shocked me most was seeing how high DSiWare was and how low the 3DS eShop was for exclusive titles! The 3DS got absolutely horrible support for how successful it ended up being! To the point where Switch will end up surpassing its lifetime total in just a few short weeks! Just goes to show the power of having good development tools and native support for modern game engines!

  6. Big fat pile of meh
  7. https://www.resetera.com/threads/huge-nintendo-eshop-sales-euro-from-march-22nd-april-4th-switch-wii-u-3ds.30773/ Looks like NOE hit the button a bit too early
  8. https://www.resetera.com/threads/huge-nintendo-eshop-sales-euro-from-march-22nd-april-4th-switch-wii-u-3ds.30773/ Big sale across Switch, 3DS & Wii U incoming! Time to finally nab ARMS!
  9. Nada. Not a peep. No idea what to expect.
  10. Yeah I backed it too, got the $125 tier reward coming my way. They’ve been really great about keeping constant updates coming out, but I’ve been only looking at it on and off. It’s great to see it finally coming together! (The latest update has some music samples from the final orchestral recording and they sound AMAZING!) I’m not gonna bother updating the main thread on here for it until they announce a release date though, because it has been in development for so long now! (June 2015 it was funded!) It has been in development for far longer than any other Castlevania game and from what I’ve seen and played of it, it looks like it’s gonna be worth the wait!
  11. On a brighter note... https://www.gonintendo.com/stories/304799-bloodstained-ritual-of-the-night-voice-acting-news-release-da They’re gonna be announcing the Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night release date this month!! Dare I hope for an appearance tonight?
  12. Whelp! Scratch Hollow Knight from the list!
  13. Helps that this is the first Kirby game for a console that isn't being released in its respective console's twilight years!
  14. That's a great price for a fully functioning Q! Let alone with all of those games! (SOAL alone averages £40-70!) Hell, I'd say that's a steal, looking at average prices on eBay for a fully functioning Q! BTW, can I just say that I'm really pissed that modern 4K displays are now coming out without ANY analog inputs whatsoever? Getting a GCN/Wii hooked up to one of these is a total PITA!
  15. That game is also on Wii U, BTW. Get it, it's a great game! (With some rad music!)
  16. I do reckon it’ll happen, but not yet. Mobile seems to be Epic’s priority right now. Good shout out about Pocket Rumble @DuD! I completely forgot about it! Hopefully we also see some new footage of Morphy’s Law as well. Looked really cool in the last Nindies Direct! I wonder if we might see Downwell on Switch as well, now that the game’s creator works for Nintendo as an employee!
  17. Sorry, just found out that it’s not available on the UK PSN after all, just the US and JPN ones (must’ve misremembered). TBH I would recommend getting it from the US store, even if it was on the UK one anyway, because it’s the superior 60hz version (yes, a UK PS3 can indeed download and play US PS1 games from the PSN store just fine - I’ve done it myself). Here’s a link to the US Store listing... https://store.playstation.com/en-us/product/UP9000-NPUJ01142_00-0000000000000001 After the PS4 launched, Capcom decided, for some strange reason, that it was time to pull their finger out and decided to release a load of their games on the PSN that they were holding back on, including Strider 2, Mega Man Legends 1, 2 and Tron Bonne!
  18. It’s actually available on PSN now in all regions (includes the PS1 port of the arcade version too); at a MUCH more reasonable price than the physical copy! It was a very very late PS3 release. BTW guys, don’t sleep on the Art Style games! They’re brilliant, brilliant games! You, Me & The Cubes is also a good time, as is the Rebirth series (which I’m sure everyone is downloading like mad right now...). Tomena Sanner and Muscle March are your resident WTF Japan laughs of course and Maboshi’s Arcade is another really neat game I’d recommend. Also, if you have a Japanese Wii, be sure to get Pole’s Big Adventure! It’s a hilarious little platforming romp (complete with Japanese laughter track and Mario style mushrooms that give your character an erection!)
  19. Yeah, it's a shame. On the other hand, those games would have never have existed without the digital marketplace to begin with. It's sad to think of how many Wii Ware exclusives still haven't been ported (and possibly never will) though. Pray for them coming to the inevitable Wii VC...
  20. I doubt it'll make a big difference, if any. The only game that has ever mentioned any sort of MB/s speed requirement on Switch is LA Noire, where the eShop page recommends a minimum of 60MB/s read speed for SD Cards. Either way, SD Card loading tends to be slightly faster than the physical game card.
  21. You wanna know how it's all gonna work? Well! I can answer those questions for you...
  22. Finally! Ray The Flying Squirrel! NOW I can justify buying the game!
  23. Kinda feels like we got the Runbow and Runner 3 release date announcements a little too early... I suspect that we'll see Hollow Knight released right after the presentation; I also reckon that we'll see Quote from Cave Story drop into Brawlout that same night too (Nicalis recently put out a very thinly veiled hint about him coming as Brawlout DLC on Twitter a week ago or so; and the devs did say that they were aiming for at least one new character every 3 months, so now would be the time...). Hopefully we'll see something about Towerfall on Switch. Now that Celeste is out, hopefully we'll hear something! Chances are that we'll get a rough release timeframe for Shovel Knight: King of Cards as well. Otherwise I'm not really sure what to expect.
  24. Oh no... that was horrible!!! Not even double digits in GP3!! At least we got a Kirbyload of funny highlights out of it!
