Its looking pretty sweet!

Well I did say "GBA minigames"... There aren't any other ones outside of the Japan only Pikmin cards, so it was kind of implied But yeah, Mario Party e rocks! It's easily the best thing released for the e-Reader outside of the additional SMA 4 levels.
-
A lofty goal indeed, but if you're going for a full collection, surely you'd be better off getting US versions of the games instead? They just play better than their PAL counterparts Price is about the same for most games too.

I have an e-Reader, it's actually a really cool little device! Just the idea of full NES games, or GBA minigames, being stored on a literal piece of paper was wild! Nowadays, we end up using paper to make our own games, so... we've come full circle

Dcubed replied to Sméagol's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I work Saturdays @Sméagol, so I wouldn’t be able to participate unfortunately. -
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe League 2018 (Final results now in)
Dcubed replied to Glen-i's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I like the idea of a split league... if only to give me a chance to bump up my pathetic average this year -
N-Europe Summer Multiplayer Extravaganza MMXVIII
Dcubed replied to Sméagol's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It does indeed! Might be another good addition. Speaking of which, nobody seems to have mentioned Puyo Puyo Tetris in here yet (including myself!) shame on you/me! -
http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2018/04/nintendo_and_game_freaks_latest_patent_hints_at_a_new_direction_for_pokemon_on_switch Well this is interesting! Could we be looking at the new main gimmick of Pokemon Gen 8? TCG become Amiibo cards? A merging of the TCG and the mainline games?

N-Europe Summer Multiplayer Extravaganza MMXVIII

Runbow will be out on Switch by then, undoubtedly a must add to any sort of online multi extravaganza! (and also a must have in general! It's a brilliant game!) -
Dragalia Lost (Mobile) & Cygames’ partnership with Nintendo
Dcubed replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Smart move. CyGames are basically the big cheese of Japanese mobile games right now; though it looks so generic that you honestly wouldn't know that Nintendo were involved unless you told me I'm assuming that they're handling backend stuff & localisation more than anything else. -
Burnout supports 480p in Europe!? I had no idea! I thought all PAL games just had the feature nixed in favour of a 60hz option! I can't say that it would be worth it for PAL region games TBH; unless you had some sort of homebrew mod that could force 480p with PAL discs (but from what I hear, compatibility is sketchy at best). Honestly, you're better off just going NTSC; almost every major exclusive game supports 480p (except Skies of Arcadia Legends and Super Monkey Ball 1, annoyingly enough!) I do have a GCN Component cable, but I would like one of these for hooking up my Cube to my 4K display; it's so annoying that it has no analog inputs at all!

Kimishima Steps Down As President Of Nintendo
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Surprised to see it happen so quickly; I know that Kimishima was always supposed to be president temporarily, but still! Furukawa seems like a good choice, considering Nintendo’s recent shift towards non-gaming entertainment and extensive merchandising. I’m gonna miss seeing Shibata in the NDs, but it’s great to see him moving up in the world. He’a done a great job in recent years (Fire Emblem Fates’ EU failure aside). Keen to see who succeeds him for NOE. -
Resident Evil Revelations 1+2 Coming To Switch
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Well the first game was originally a 3DS game that got a HD Remaster; while the second game was a cross gen title, designed for PS3/PS4/360/Xbone; so it's only natural that the visuals would be better. -
They've added 2 new playable characters, 4-player co-op, new stages, new enemies, widescreen and they've updated the visuals (keeping in the same spirit as the original - they actually brought back the original staff who worked on the original SNES version to make this remaster!) It's pretty great! A bit pricey, but great! Compared to the other versions of WGR on PS4/PC, the Switch version also adds the ability to have infinite continues in co-op; something that really should've been there from the start, since you're never gonna manage to round up 4 people who are good enough to get through the game without dying!
-
Yeah it's true, the timing isn't great for us. That being said, these days I'm just not able to watch that much of it live anyway for lack of free time; so I'm used to catching up after the fact now

Starting off with Banjo Tooie!? Oh man! Talk about starting with a bang! Meta Knightmare Ultra, MM3D, RE4, Pikmin 3 and a Shantae race all in the first day!? Dahym! Mario Odyssey is suspiciously absent though... I suspect a cheeky donation incentive ALA BOTW's first appearance

Heh, ok, fine that's where they "announced" Pokemon Gen 8, but they didn't unveil it there. We haven't seen anything about the game itself yet as they've yet to unveil anything. Pokemon US/UM was unveiled the week before though So if they did unveil Gen 8 at E3, it would be a first. Last year's E3 was basically all about future promises for Switch, so they basically had to confirm where the Pokemon series was going to be headed next, to basically tell fans to go buy a Switch now and feel confident that Pokemon is heading there. I wouldn't expect our first glimpse of Gen 8 to be at E3 itself, but instead beforehand. I think 2018 is a ridiculous target, given that S/M only came out in 2016, but everything I've heard is saying that it's happening this year. I can't see how Game Freak could pull it off (even with outside help from someone like Namco or Monolith Soft), but that's the date that's making the rounds so...
-
No it wasn't. It was announced during the 2017 Pokemon Direct, which took place a week before the E3 2017 Showcase. Granted, that's the closest we've ever gotten to having Pokemon announced at E3, but that Direct wasn't exclusively for US/UM, but also for Pokken DX, Pokemon G/S VC and Pokemon Gen 8 coming to Switch; so it's not quite the same situation... It's not impossible that they might go ahead and unveil it during E3 for the first time this year, but I'm erring on the side of history on this one. TPC doesn't usually really factor E3 into their plans for the brand, but rather, they usually announce new mainline games some months before E3. Now would be about the time I'd expect an announcement if Gen 8 is indeed coming out this year.
-
I'd actually probably agree. Pokemon games always get announced prior to E3 and now seems like the best time to do so; especially considering Labo's launch (and it sharing the same target audience as Pokemon). ORAS was announced in early May, so we're not far off it now; but given its proximity to Labo and the Investor's Meeting? This week seems like the most sensible time if it's gonna happen this year... ... unless it's gonna be the first time we ever see a Pokemon game unveiled at E3...

I can't pick this one up yet, but I'm wondering about the mixture of combat and puzzle solving/exploration in this game. What I loved about the original games is how well they combined the combat with light puzzle solving and exploration. They were more like linear Zelda games than DMC style Stylish Action games. All the footage that Sony have put out though has been pretty much entierly focused on combat though, so... How combat heavy would you say the game is so far? Is it more or less combat focused than the original trilogy?

https://www.wired.com/story/xbox-underground-videogame-hackers/ An absolutely wild article that goes over the story of the guys who hacked the Xbox, the Xbox 360 and who stole the Durango/Xbox One prototype units from Microsoft! Honestly, there's a whole TV series worth of material here, let alone a Hollywood movie!
