  1. So glad that they went back and added the missing transitions between certain stages. It always felt so weird the some levels just lacked them entirely; it was the one thing that made the game feel unfinished!
  2. Well that sucks balls. The clouds are gonna be out when Namco want Nintendo fans to praise the sun thanks to this...
  3. Because he’s a huge retro game enthusiast who is very vocal about the games he likes and plays? He has a regular column in Famitsu where he chats about new and old games (Nintendo or otherwise) that he likes; and has a big thing for retro gaming. He’s probably friends with the guys from SEGA/M2 and basically begged them to bring the 3D Classics series to Switch and keep it going. He’s basically the polite version of Kamiya... who probably helped by continuously swearing at them and asking their mum to make it happen. Oh! BTW... http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2018/04/sega_ages_is_officially_coming_to_nintendo_switch_in_the_west ... a western release of this new SEGA AGES series has just been announced! Coming out “this summer”
  4. Well it’s hardly their fault that the Wii U got replaced by the Switch before they finished the game; and Nintendo fans ended up getting an absolutely superb port as a result (arguably the best version of the game even!) While the lack of physical release and high price (for the time) was unfortunate, those are decisions that Playtonic are not responsible for, but rather Team 17. You can fault the game for a lot of things, but I can’t really fault Playtonic for their treatment of the Nintendo fan base. Don’t forget that the Wii U version was originally the only console version that Playtonic themselves were making (Team 17 handled the PS4/Xbone versions); so it’s no surprise that it took longer when they had to scrap everything and start over.
  5. https://www.resetera.com/posts/6812080/ Another interview from Famitsu... Well that all sounds rather lovely, doesn't it?
  6. Pretty much this. They've probably started pre-production work on their next game as well, they did hint at "other stuff" after all; but yeah, it's much easier to add to an existing game than to build something completely new from scratch.
  7. https://www.resetera.com/threads/valkyria-chronicles-1-announced-for-nintendo-switch.36293/ Valkyria Chronicles 1 is coming to Switch! eShop only, coming in Autumn.
  8. Oh Ike... ... you got your wish! Also, Alex Kidd in Miracle World and Gain Ground have been announced for this wave of games.
  9. They won't. It'll be a direct port of the 3DS version, guaranteed. And that's absolutely fine, because it's a superb package on 3DS!
  10. Looks like we're getting arcade titles too! I guess that this is basically a direct continuation of their 3D Classics series, just... you know... without the 3D.
  11. Finally! Coming out in 2018. Will include both English and Japanese voiceovers as well as an option to choose between modern or classic controls!
  12. Great to see that we’re (kinda) getting Virtual Console back on the SEGA side! A shame that it naturally won’t include any 3rd party titles, but it’s at least a start! Hopefully it won’t be limited to just Mega Drive titles. Bless you M2!
  13. Yeah, it's been that way ever since Banana Blitz sadly, where all of a sudden, they decided that people didn't want challenge in Monkey Ball and decided to put barriers everywhere and get rid of all of the interesting level designs and gimmicks that defined the original 2 games
  14. Holy crap! That last clip is amazing @BowserBasher! Absolutely priceless!
  15. To be banned in all good western nations! Except France, France are cool with it.
  16. Oh! I didn’t know the levels were unique, that’s pretty cool! Great little game BTW; has some hilariously hype music too!
  17. Sounds exactly like this (even down to the same naming scheme in Japanese) I wonder if this will be the last 3DS retail release in the west... Either way, I'm sure Atlus is gunning for the record!
  18. And there it is! It's gonna be a wild one! Looking forward to the Samus Returns, Banjo Tooie, Paper Mario and 2x Pokemon Yellow runs!
  19. Great to see that gyro controls are in! Really glad to see 3rd party devs listen to fans and put the effort in!
  20. I'm still amazed that we haven't gotten a modern port of Chu Chu Rocket! Aside from the surprisingly good GBA version and the long abandoned mobile version, there's nothing! It would be amazing on Switch! Each Joy-Con has the full compliment of 4 face buttons, making it ideal for on-the-go tabletop multiplayer fun! 8 Player CCR would be a riot!
  21. Crummy night for me, but we got some great highlights out of it! Great job on the new vid BTW @RedShell! Love the new graphics/transition effects!
  22. Whelp! Looks like we've got a Nintendo Direct incoming shortly then!
  23. So was the PS1 when the PS2 was announced, as was the PS2 when the PS3 was announced, and the Wii when Wii U was announced... I wouldn't necessarily take that to be a reason for them to not announce it early, if they wanted to kick things off before MS had a chance to react. Semiaccurate is the source, not ResetEra. They've been right about hardware leaks many times in the past, so it could well be true... Could well be the case. But the PS5 might not even be a generational leap like we've become accustomed to in the past anyway... I'm personally expecting something along the lines of a PS4Pro/iPhone _S/number kind of leap. PS5 games wont work on PS4/Pro, but PS4 games will work going forward. I think that we'll be seeing a longer version of the smartphone model for consoles going forward, where generational leaps as we know them are dead and each new console is an incremental improvement; but numerical jumps are the cutoff point for older hardware. Much like how the market is more interested in new iPhones that have numbers attached to them than letters, but it's the same kind of jump regardless. So a new console every 6 years and a refresh right in the middle, at the 3 year mark.
  24. PS3 was announced and shown off with tech demos two whole years before its release. Wii U was announced two years before its release. Wii was announced and unveiled (well, the hardware design at least) a year and a half before its release, 3DS was announced almost a whole year before its release... Early hardware reveals have never really stopped a current console from selling before; why would it now? In fact, announcing the PS5 "early" in this case, might just prove to benefit Sony by taking some of the wind out of the XboneX's sails, while a commitment to backwards compatibility for PS4 titles in their next console would also put current PS4 owners at ease, letting them feel confident in making purchases that will continue to work (perhaps even in improved form) on Sony's next machine.
  25. I agree. Can't see it happening, but I do reckon that 2019 is very possible if dev kits are getting put out now. Would be 3 years after the PS4 Pro's launch, which was 3 years after the PS4's launch. Would also line up nicely with the 25th anniversary of the PS1's launch I also reckon that it's very possible that we might see the first hints at it during this year's E3. Early "next gen" BS target renders, tech demos, promises of backwards compatibility, memes, all that good stuff. Wouldn't surprise me if they announced Death Stranding as the first PS5 launch title...
