  1. Someone on Resetera just made a pretty good point about Fortnite on Switch... I reckon there's a really good chance of the Switch version getting an exclusive 8 player local wireless multiplayer mode, with exclusive maps (that are much smaller to accomodate a smaller player count). Nintendo are clearly pitching it as a centrepiece of their E3 Direct and I bet that they wouldn't do that for a straight port of a game that's already available on mobile and every other platform... It's definiitely the biggest way that they could differentiate it from the other versions and given that it's F2P, there's no cost barrier to entry for getting an 8 player game up and running (RIP Download Play). I could see it being a huge hit at local Switch gatherings!
  2. Think about it... What happens when you try using motion controls when playing in 3D on an old model 3DS? Now, consider how fast paced Wario Ware is... (Hint, your eyes and head aren't gonna like it) You'll end up feeling like poor Wario here!
  3. On an entierly different topic... https://nintendoeverything.com/bandai-namco-to-offer-english-version-of-taiko-drum-master-nintendo-switch-version-in-asia/ Namco is releasing an English language update for the upcoming Taiko game for Switch when it launches in South East Asia! AWESOME! Time to start looking at importing guys!
  4. Shame that it's 2D only (going by the US boxart), but with the Wario Ware Twisted microgames being included, I suppose it makes sense. It would be unplayable in S3D on an Old 3DS/3DSxl.
  5. Bit weird that they're releasing it as F2P later on... especially since they're gonna be up against Fortnite next week... But hey! We finally have a decent multiplayer FPS on Switch! About damn time! (actually, when was the last time we had a decent multiplayer FPS on Nintendo consoles/handhelds, period!?) The port looks pretty great too, judging by the footage I've seen. Very very impressive! And remarkably close to the PS4/Xbone versions!
  6. Profound Sadness... Was hoping for a budget price release (or at least a 3DS level price of £39.99! Capcom are really taking the piss here!)
  7. Oh shit son! http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/47398/hamster-reveals-another-slate-of-neo-geo-arcade-archives-games MONEY IDOL/PUZZLE EXCHANGER IS COMING TO SWITCH!!! (As well as a few other NeoGeo games nobody cares about like Super Sidekicks 3, The Super Spy, League Bowling and The Last Blade 2) Another brilliant heavy hitter puzzler (that's more than a little inspired by Magical Drop, but adds its own unique wrinkles). The original (and bestest!) NeoGeo version of the game has NEVER been released outside Japan (not even on the NeoGeo itself!), until now! It does fully support Engrish of course, so don't worry But yeah! Another top tier battle puzzler that's well worth your time! One of my fave NeoGeo games for sure! Trust me, that's good advice she's giving here!
  8. That’s wild!! I’ve always wanted to see a tennis game try to include something like this where you can challenge the umpire’s decision! What DOESNT this game have!?
  9. There is an adapter that lets you use PS4/PC arcade sticks on Switch... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mayflash-Magic-NS-Wireless-Controller-Nintendo/dp/B079B5KHWQ Might be worth a look if you fancy getting the Switch version and don't want to buy a new arcade stick!
  10. Demon's Crest did get a PAL release originally, but it never got a single re-release until it came out on Wii U (and it was a stupidly rare and expensive game on SNES in all regions, so it was a long-standing "Holy Grail Release" for the VC in general!). If this is opposite day, I hope this means that we get VC esc releases from S-E on Switch this time!
  11. http://www.gameinformer.com/2018/06/05/square-enix-devotes-division-to-developing-switch-games Well that's promising Meanwhile, at Capcom...
  12. It's just for this month, but it's still a huge achievement! Granted that it was a pretty weak month for MS and a pretty strong one for Nintendo, but considering that the US and UK are MS's two main strongholds (and the UK is Nintendo's biggest weakpoint), it's still pretty surprising to see!
  13. Sounds like they've done a pretty good job with the collection really (barring issues with the online connectivity and volume issues in handheld mode). Glad to hear, because Digital Eclypse's track record has always been very spotty. SSF2 Tournament Fighters is also a pretty great addition for hardcore SF fans, especially seeing as how it has never had a home release before. While I'm sure there are some people who would prefer to have seen a port of the console versions of some of these games (SFA3 especially), I know that if I was a massive SF nut (which I'm not, though I do enjoy the games casually), I'd be ecstatic about them using the arcade versions of everything - many of them having never have had true arcade perfect home releases until this collection (and certainly not on the go!). It's only now that we can say that every single SF game's original arcade version is now available on a home console (and handheld!) and that's something that SF fans should be going nuts for! Seems like a pretty great package all in all! The only thing missing from it is the CPS2 version of Hyper Street Fighter II!
  14. We know where Satoru Shibata went to now! https://nintendosoup.com/satoru-shibata-promoted-to-the-pokemon-company-outside-director/ He's now the Outside Director of The Pokemon Company! (Shuntaro Furukawa's previous role before he became Nintendo's President and CEO) Congrats to him! Great to see him land a sweet gig!
  15. Wow! Fuck you Capcpom! That's low. That's seriously low! Even SF 30th Anniversary got a physical release! Best just assume that Capcom are giving up on the Switch EU market for physical games altogether unless published by Nintendo.
  16. That’s pretty wild! A complete waste of the system’s performance (and battery) in portable mode, but it’s crazy to see even the portable mode crushing the Wii U version in terms of overall performance! (Similar FPS, but 2.5x the pixels). It’s easily the biggest jump from Wii U-Switch we’ve seen yet, but they really should put out a patch to sort out the resolution switch to 720p in portable mode. Supersampling is a completely stupid thing to do, where the image quality boost will be almost unnoticeable on a small screen and performance could get a huge boost by reducing the resolution.
  17. I suppose it's probably made separate to match like-for-like. Also the game switches to a splitscreen view for local multi (ALA Wii Sports Tennis) in this mode, going by the past trailers. @Hero of Time, trick shots are super risky! The timing window for getting energy from it is extremely tight (And even the timing window for using it at all, where you'd lose energy from it, is still very tight!) and you also have to commit to it as soon as you start, you can't cancel it, which means that your opponent can actually take advantage of your own trick shot to screw you over... like how I did to someone I was about to lose against here The commitment here is the biggest thing. Because you can't cancel it, you're locked into whatever choice you've made; meaning that you have to really be thinking one step ahead of your opponent to actually be able to make use of it. Add on the need for proper positioning (it only works if you're at least 1/3-1/2 the length of the court away from the ball in one of 4 cardinal directions), the wind up/wind down time and the length/speed of the animation (both of which are different for each character!) and the need to balance energy usage and you've got yourself a pretty fantastic mechanic I reckon! There's a ton of risk/reward to manage with it! The mindgames in this game are crazy! They're so nuts that Camelot have actually managed to make a tennis game where letting your opponent win certain games or even sets on purpose can actually be a viable tactic! I noticed that too @RedShell! The HD Rumble is really well done here!
  18. I almost felt sorry for tricking him into using a trick shot there... almost
  19. This game... It’s perfect. It’s everything I always wanted. I’m so happy At last! An original Switch game that lives up to the hype and doesn’t disappoint me! At last! A true successor to Mario Power Tennis on the GCN! Life is good
  20. The hype is palpable! Are you ready to rock with Waluigi?
  21. You now get 5x as many coins for your purchases as what you did before they introduced the gold coin exchange programme. So going by today’s valuation, I should really have 5x that amount of gold coins!
  22. Fear my banana coin hoard!!! (bear in mind that this is all pre-coin devaluation!)
  23. In better Pokemon related news... https://www.resetera.com/threads/the-space-world-1997-demo-for-pokemon-gold-has-leaked-online.45913/ The Spaceworld 1997 demo of Pokemon G/S has just leaked!!! TONS of differences and changes! Including a scrapped evolution of Pinsir and Ditto! (Of all Pokemon!) It's wild! Too cool for school
  24. I know that this isn't directly related, but this is the most active Pokemon related thread we currently have... https://www.resetera.com/threads/the-space-world-1997-demo-for-pokemon-gold-has-leaked-online.45913/ The Spaceworld 1997 demo of Pokemon G/S has just leaked!!! 25. Surprised to see that it’s exempt from the Switch Online subscription. Would’ve thought that Nintendo would use it to push their paid service... Also... No more single save files!! Well it’s about time!
