I did the same thing, I have that theme too (It's lovely! Defo one of my faves!)

It’s a really good fake... but it is a fake. The web browser is a dead giveaway. Nintendo have purposely gone out of their way to not make the Switch’s web browser user accessible, in order to help prevent hackers from cracking the system’s security like they did on 3DS and Wii U (though ironically, they have apparently managed it anyway. Thanks to an oversight from SEGA in Puyo Puyo Tetris, where they accidentally made the online user manual able to open up normal web pages; hackers have managed to break through the Switch’s security anyway ) But yeah, Nintendo aren’t gonna make things easy for hackers by allowing users to easily access the Switch web browser and use it to hack their Switch.

You’re a champ @S.C.G! I couldn’t get that to work for some reason (and the search was turning up nothing!) -

Yeah, I've noticed that a lot of screenshots are missing. It also doesn't seem to have the list of friends/comments on each profile page either (was hoping to grab an old picture my sister drew; she forgot to get her archive link), but I can't seem to find her page (the search is super, ridiculously specific - even right down to requiring the proper capitalisation of user-names!) Still, the fact that we have such a large snapshot of it is just amazing and fantastic to see! -
Shouldn’t do. But try holding down the power button first (it takes a while).

Definitely sounds like something is wrong with your Switch; never heard of that happening! You could try forcing a reset by removing the micro SD card, or by holding down the power button. Or you can let the battery drain. Either way I’d definitely consider sending it back.

Oh wow! Never mind about sharing your own archives, some crazy group has managed to archive THE ENTIERTY of Miiverse! http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2018/01/you_can_now_search_through_a_complete_archive_of_miiverse It's all available to view here on Archiverse (though the site is down as of typing this). Every single post from every single community has apparently been successfully archived, even the limited time only communities! (Nearly 17TB worth of data! ) and it's all searchable, even the profile pages with game experience data! -
Hey! We wrote a thingy on the main site! (You know, the place you don't check often enough). Click the pic! Go on! You know you want to... Here's to an awesome new year of gaming goodness!

Excellent choices @Hero-of-Time! Especially your music choices! I desperately need some time to finally start playing Nier Automata! I have it sitting here, beckoning and yearning for me to play!

That looks absolutely amazing! Basically looks like an official GBC remaster! BTW, thought this was interesting... https://www.resetera.com/threads/kotaku-vintage-game-retailers-say-nintendo-64-was-the-hottest-christmas-product.13471/ Apparantly the N64 has received a resurgence of popularity over this Xmas in the US, being the most popular retro console by far! How long till the N64 mini now

Why am I not surprised to see Dragon Quest top @Ike‘s list?

I'm really not sure what to put for this one. I'll have to have a bit of a think and come back later... As great a game as it is and how much I'm glad to see it getting some praise, it came out last year, so it can't be included... I know, I know, I actually played it this year too, but it's a 2016 game...

N-Europe Old Year's Eve Multiplayer Extravaganza MMXVII
Dcubed replied to Sméagol's topic in Nintendo Gaming
That looks like a pretty solid selection of games to me! (though I still haven't got ARMS yet - I know, I know... But... you know... money...) I'd suggest adding Pokken to the mix too, especially now that it has proper lobbies and tourney settings for friend matches! -
Here's my lot! Yeah, I haven't had much time to play this year really. I'm shocked to see that my time spent on Wii U has been higher than on 3DS this year though! Wasn't expecting that! Edit: Oh wow! I actually played Wii U MORE in 2017 than I did in 2016! How the hell did that happen!? I certainly don't remember doing it! Where the hell did I find the time!? That's nuts!

So... for those who have gotten Miiverse post history downloads from Nintendo, you have only until the 31/12/17 to download them. You might have already known that... BUT! Did you know that the URL links can be accessed by anyone? That's right! You can actually share your post history with others! But only for the next few days! So I figured that it might be nice to make a little thread for those who want to share their Miiverse posts with others while they still can Here's my post history for anyone who wants to revel in some A-class humour, a nice accomplishment with beating Metroid Fusion again with 1% item aquisition and more! https://miiverse.nintendo.net/download/244d7e7e0240281fb34661f216ca324dbf812aa975fb7dfb80c5d45851ded2f5 Or if you want to just share some old posts here, why the hell not? Take a screengrab and share your favourite Miiverse memories here! I promise that it's not all a...

I know that this isn't Switch related, but most people are likely to see it here. A reminder! Your Miiverse post history download links will expire on 31/12/17, so make sure you check your emails and actually download them now while you still can! Just been admiring some cherished Miiverse memories of mine, man, I miss it so much... It would've been so amazing if Switch had it

General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
It did... outside of Japan. Clearly Japan is happy with Pokemon Go and doesn't want proper mainline games anymore... -
Just wanted to say that Blossom Tales is fantastic! It's a really good Zelda-like that has some pretty neat ideas, fun dialogue and does a great job of capturing the REAL Zelda style of gameplay that BOTW was sorely lacking!

General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Very disappointing hardware bump for Switch. Nintendo screwed up bad with the console's supply; so much money being left on the table... Delighted to see ARMS get a huge bump though! [25.285 / 297.491 (+136%)], about damn time that game got its dues! 400k should be more than doable (maybe even 500k when all is said and done!). Insane boosts for Kirby: Battle Royale [42.796 / 115.324 (+70%)] and New Style Boutique 3 too! [21.321 / 105.557 (+58%)] The old 3D dog isn't dead yet! Pokken dx has also now officially surpassed the original Wii U version, joining MK8dx in an extremely select club of just a few ports/remakes that have ever surpassed their original counterparts! The biggest surprise for me though is Yo-kai Watch Busters 2, [184.739 / 393.279 (-11%)], with an amazing hold over its launch week! Pokemon US/UM are almost at 2 million too! After the dismal performance of the original Sun/Moon, by series standards, and the rapid decline of the ageing 3DS, I'm really shocked at how well US/UM are doing! It has already surpassed Pokemon Crystal! Next up is Emerald (2,197,017) then Yellow (2,294,065), which it should do quite easily. Platinum isn't an impossible target now! (2,604,510), but it probably won't beat Black 2/White 2 (3,019,274), the reigning champions of 3rd versions. I wonder how this happened with US/UM? It just defies logic! Perhaps quite a lot of people heard about the Pokemon Stars rumour, got pissed off and waited? -
https://www.resetera.com/threads/wsj-nintendo-delays-rollout-of-64-gigabyte-switch-game-cards-until-2019.12823/ 64GB Game Cards are incoming for developers, but have been pushed back till early 2019 due to production issues...

This all sounds like hilarious BS. The fourth point in particular "tradition vs innovation" is basically the online discourse that's happening on forums right now, so I'm inclined that someone's having a bit of a laugh right now and just trying to rile some people up. Also how could the Chinese localisation team have finished translating the script already? The original Japanese script itself wouldn't even be finalised until about 3-4 months before launch! Finally, this game isn't coming out in 2018, so kill your hopes and dreams of that right now. November 2019 at the very earliest. @Julius Caesar, I agree. Seamless loading is what I want to see the most in this Switch game. Not just with battles, but with everything. I don't mind having transition effects, but I want it to load instantly. No loading screens in-between areas like in the 3DS games (go back to the original GB/C/A games in that regard) and especially no black screens in-between menu screens; those couple of seconds it takes to load menus in the 3DS games just drives me mad whenever I play them! I absolutely hate how long it takes to load anything in the 3DS games, and all of the pauses/small animations they do to hide all of that incessent loading in the Gen 6/7 games needs to go. Switch is more than capable of handling a seamless Pokemon experience.

Well this just appeared in the Switch News app... Cool way to tease new characters! Never thought of using Switch News for something like that!

Not yet, but the devs said that it will be coming in an update.

Finally got it. It’s actually pretty great! Had a “quick go” with @Glen-i and we ended up playing it for hours It’s actually quite different from Smash. It’s a lot more combo heavy and the characters are all very unique and fresh. None of them feel like anything you’ve seen in Smash (unlike a certain other Smash-like that rips characters wholesale from Melee... [COUGH]Icons[/COUGH]). They’re all a lot of fun to play as (I’m particularly fond of the Frog Guy, Olaf Tyson, Juan and King Apu) and I like the aggressive focus it has. Some of the characters might look generic, but they certainly aren’t generic to play as! From the grapple heavy Frog Guy, to Juan (AKA Hits-Like-A-Truck Guy), to Olaf’s ridiculous ability to conjour ice platforms to block people from recovering, they’re very unique! And fun too! The removal of blocking and the rage mechanic also make it feel quite different too. The latter has quite a bit of nuance to it too, you can use it early as a defensive mechanic to save yourself when you get knocked off, or you can save up your meter and use it to unleash hell! It also feels really surprisingly polished for an indie title. It feels fast and smooth to play, with no hint of slowdown at all (there’s a stuttering bug when playing with CPUs, but that’s getting patched shortly apparently), looks great (indeed, running at full 1080p 60FPS Docked/720p 60 FPS Undocked as the developers promised) and it’s just a lot of fun! My only real major complaint is that I wish it had voices. It does feel a bit weird to not have characters make grunts and groans, nor have an announcer, but hopefully they can add these things over time if the game sells well and they get a bigger budget to work with. Speaking of which, I’m looking forward to the new characters and stages they add going forward (and if Nicalis’ tease is anything to go by, one of those new characters is gonna be Quote from Cave Story! Can’t wait to see what they do with him! ) The stages are quite simple compared to Smash and of course lack the insanity and pizazz of the SSB games but they still manage to feel distinct from each other and have some interesting ideas here and there. There’s some longetivity to it too, with lots of stuff to unlock (though the requirements for doing so are a bit ridiculous; I hear that the dev is looking to change this though). Guys! Give it a try! It’s good stuff and a lot more unique than it looks at first glance. There’s lots of small differences that add up to make something that feels pretty distinct from Smash. I’m very happy with it so far!
