WOG doesn't actually use it (It's gyro only, like BOTW and Skyward Sword - same with Tomorrow Corp's other two games). The only games that use it so far, outside of Labo, are 1,2,Switch and Resident Evil Revelations 1&2 (for the reloading gesture).

What do you mean Kellam's not in the game? Are you blind!? He's right there! He's even in that gif you posted!

Bear in mind that it’s different on the TV (since it outputs at 1080p), so unless you change the Switch’s TV output to 720p (which I’m guessing that you don’t want to do), there should be a small border with an integer upscale of 240p content (it’s actually gonna be 960p - like with NES/SNES games on Wii U). In handheld mode though, yes, it should be full screen since 720 is a perfect 3x multiple of 240. The horizontal scale is a bit tricky though because it should be displayed as a 4:3 image, even though the game never actually renders in the correct aspect ratio; so you need to stretch it to get the proper 4:3 aspect ratio.

I think it should default to a perfect integer upscale; but I don’t know for sure. If it doesn’t, then I’m not really sure I’m afraid; because they just use arbitrary units in the menu and I don’t know what they correspond to in terms of resolution here. A perfect integer scale should be possible, but you might just have to tinker with the numbers to find it.

Speaking seriously for a moment, there’s a ridiculous amount of potential with Nintendo’s existing IP with Labo. Mario Maker, Paper Mario, Mario Paint, Animal Crossing (house/furniture maker), Smash Bros (Stage builder, Amiibo diorama builder), Wario Ware DIY, Luigi’s Mansion, Pikmin, Tomodachi Life (it’s already basically a doll house!), Style Boutique... Speaking of Paper Mario... Need I remind you that all of the environments in Color Splash were actually built with real cardboard before being re-created in-game... I rest my case

First screenshot of Mario Kart 9!

Yeah, this is Nintendo clearly leaning on their legacy as toy makers here. But not just that, it’s also a way for them to revisit abandoned game prototypes (like Project Giant Robot and that Wii Motorbike patent that they never ended up using until now) and give them a new purpose! It’s also such an important push for the kids demographic; which have largely stopped getting into video games at all (outside of Minecraft... which is... well... basically a construction toy set!). Not only does it have potential to expand what the Switch can do with traditional games (come on Panic Park!! I’ve wanted a home port for so long!!), but it has very real potential to get the kiddies back into buying video game hardware again! Nintendo (and the industry as a whole) can’t afford to just focus on their established, adult audience; we’re gonna die off eventually! They need to keep bringing in new fans that’ll go on to sustain them in the distant future; and this is exactly the kind of thing that can pull it off!

http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2018/01/hands_on_the_future_of_gaming_is_cardboard_thanks_to_nintendo_labo HOLY SHIT!! You can tune the fucking piano!! You can even change the types of sounds it makes depending on how you build it!! Game of the Fucking Year! That’s class!

Yo! Namco! Port this to Switch with a Toy-Con holder that has two Joy-Cons bound together by string!
-
Oh God, I’m gonna have to take out a Safestore subscription to store all this junk aren’t I?
-
This sounds like it’s some sort of creative application (like Mario Paint or Minecraft); probably using the joy-con’s motion controls and HD rumble. High hopes for this one! I love Nintendo’s creation games/apps like Mario Paint and Wii Music, so I’m all over this!

Yoshi looked quite rough back at E3, so I wouldn’t expect it to hit for a little while still...

WTF!? https://www.resetera.com/threads/kirby-star-allies-bayonetta-and-bayonetta-2-are-already-preloadable-in-eu-months-before-release.16626/ The game is already available to preload!? It’s not out for another 2 months!! How did they finish it so fast!? It must have originally been in development for Wii U and then ported to Switch...

I have it on PC, but I hope that game comes to Switch at some point. It would be a brilliant little pick-up and play handheld game!
-
Had my eye on this ever since Matthew Matosis did his brilliant video on the game. Really looking forward to getting stuck into it when I get the chance!

I actually don’t know TBH! I have no idea what MSC sold on Wii, but it probably did pretty well, considering that it was included in the Nintendo Selects range and came out pretty early in the Wii’s life. I’d wager that’s coming next...

They’ve allowed you to turn off Chance Shots ever since Ultra Smash (which is blatantly a beta version of this game here on Switch). Either way, they had better fix the physics. Ultra Smash’s (And by extension, Mario Sports Superstar Tennis’s) core gameplay is utterly terrible (lobs are literally 100% useless!).

A user generated “speed run” mode, revealed right in the middle of AGDQ, for a game that is being revered as a speed runner’s dream? Well well, aren’t they the crafty ones!
-
Glad to see that that old teaser pic might well finally amount to something! While it’s obviously based on the iOS version (and thus, it won’t really replicate the original DS version’s unique dual screen gameplay properly) it’s cool to see them do joy-con gyro pointer controls for TV play! Not enough games do that!
-
Well that’s aces indeed! Can’t believe that the madmen are attempting a story mode in a HD Mario Tennis game... ... ... No really, I don’t believe it. I don’t expect it to be anywhere near the full fledged RPG Tennis experience that the GBC and GBA games were (It’ll probably be more akin to a Mario Party style “story mode”). Still, the fact that they actually look like they’re trying brings joy to my hear!

OH MY GOD!! ADELEINE IS BA... oh wait... never mind...

Spirit of Justice is such a massive step up from Dual Destinies it’s ridiculous. You’re going from something like Justice for All to Trials and Tribulations with the jump! SOJ is probably my second favourite AA game (next to TAT). Amazingly enough, the foreign setting actually helps you suspend your disbelief better than the regular setting! And they do some brilliant stuff that I wanted to see from the AA series for some time (which I obviously can’t talk about because, you know... spoilers) But yeah, SOJ is so much better than DD!

That tweet was definitely done on purpose. We know that NOA read GAF/Era (NOE probably, almost certainly, read these forums too). On a related matter, they also watch AGDQ too (in fact, one of them even appeared on the GDQ couch during the Splatoon 2 run, giving commentary on the game!) They might give the impression that they don’t know what people are talking about but they do... oh yes they do... Crafty buggers. They probably delayed the Direct just to mess with us

Yes, the New 3DS has already been discontinued and the XL is following suit (so just the 2DS and New 2DS will remain, being Nintendo’s low cost option for kids who can’t afford a Switch). 128GB micro SDs are dirt cheap now, I would just go for that at least.

Really frustrating that I've not been able to watch most of this year's AGDQ live, but I have caught little bits here and there. The Skyrim run was outright hilarity, while the Ristar and Rayman runs have been really impressive! Also, it was pretty amazing to see someone from Nintendo's localisation team (for Splatoon 2, didn't catch their name sadly) actually sit in on the couch with them giving commentary on the game! Really looking forward to catching up with a lot more of these runs when they get uploaded to Youtube and I get some time! Edit: HOLY CRAP!! This Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance run!! It's NUTS!
