I’d still recommend the NES30 arcade stick myself. It’s significantly cheaper than the HRAP, is fully Sanwa moddable, works on numerous other devices and it supports both wireless and wired on Switch (it got a firmware update that enables a direct USB connection on Switch; it also fixes some desyncing issues that 8bit-do’s controllers used to have on Switch). It’s got a pretty nice heft to it, but not too bulky to pop in a bag either. I’ve got one and it’s pretty sweet.

Holy crap!! Nintendo finally delivered a good sale!! There are some ludicrous bargains across Wii U, 3DS and even Switch! (Mario & Rabbids is giving away the season pass for free when you buy it digitally! Glad I held out! )

Great news! Any steps taken to clamp down on this predatory practice are a sight for very sore eyes. And the industry has nobody to blame but themselves. If the regulatory bodies, that they themselves established, refuse to do their job, then let the governments around the world do it for them. Hopefully this will be a harsh lesson for the likes of EA, WB, Take 2, Activision-Blizzard And everyone involved in the mobile scene.

Resident Evil Revelations 1+2 Coming To Switch
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
They were obviously too scared about misspelling the game’s name again on the box across Europe -
1 for the price of 2!

WOOHOO! I loved the original! So stoked for this! Wonder if Switch will also get a port of the PC/PS4 remaster as well...

Was disappointed that he didn’t point out how you ARE actually given a hint about the bombable wall in the Lizard dungeon (IIRC, the old man says something along the lines of “there’s a secret in the eye” - obviously referring to the location of the room that contains the stairs you need to bomb to get to). Also I actually quite liked Zelda 1 and 2’s key system. I thought it was quite cool how you can bypass parts of the dungeons if you happen to have spare keys left over (though it does suck when you do get stuck and have to go and buy one if you missed some in previous dungeons). Zelda 2 certainly handled that better. Still, I’d like to see the idea come back some day, you know, if we ever get a traditionally designed Zelda ever again...

She heals you. You have to have actually have lost health though lol!

Star Fox 2 was one of them, but that's actually come out now so... This one in English and the first 6 Fire Emblems in English. There are plenty of others, but those are the big kahunas left for me!

Awesome! We’re finally starting to get the regular non NeoGeo ACA releases now too! Them getting the rights for Double Dragon, despite it seeing releases on other consoles by a different publisher also bodes well for the chances of a proper ACA NeoGeo release of Windjammers one day too!

I can fault Konami for many things, but their post release support of this game certainly isn’t one of them. Good show!

I want that feature back so much. I had way too much fun with that! The person who decided that it should choose a picture at random is a genius

I have a high spec PC and have played DOOM on it at 1440p, full whack Ultra settings at a faultless 60FPS and I still think it looks great on Switch. Looks almost exactly the same, just somewhat soft (not much different from Snake Pass really). Doesn’t even feel much slower, the excellent motion blur helps a lot with making it feel fast and smooth at 30FPS and while the visuals are soft, they’re basically completely free of aliasing (jagged edges). I’ve also noticed little to no slowdown at all so far, docked or undocked. Some people just have no perspective on things. Hell I’m enjoying playing it on Switch more than on my PC, just because of the sheer freedom I have with how I want to play it. It’s a brilliant fit for the platform and an excellent rendition of a great game!

Was literally thinking exactly the same thing. That one was just weird though, with some stores and countries doing it and others not doing it

Wait wha!? That’s awesome news! January was such a stupid date! This is a MUCH better release date! Will enjoy this one over Xmas!

Yeah, I do really wish there was an option for gyro controls. After playing DOOM on PC with KB&M and playing games like Splatoon 2, it’s really hard to go back to dual analogs... Still great fun though!
-
True. But as far as titles that target 60FPS go, this is pretty much the hardest game to port of them all (and they did it without sacrificing any major graphical effects or geometry - just mainly resolution and framerate), so it’s a pretty solid barometer of how the Switch compares in the worst case scenario. If a developer is willing to sacrifice more significant graphic fidelity, they could likely pull off a port I reckon. Unless it’s a case like FF15, where the engine is just buggered to all hell and runs poorly on both Xbone and PS4 anyway, I reckon it should be doable. UE4 titles in particular seem to transfer over quite well.
-
Don’t skip it!! It’s a great game! It’s not as sharp looking on Switch and it doesn’t run as smooth, but it still plays very well! And looks amazing to boot (just a bit soft) Whatever way you play, do get it eventually!
-
Sounds like they did a great job to me! Doom is pretty much a worst-case-scenario game as far as porting a 60FPS PS4/Xbone title goes and it’s not like the other versions maintained a solid 60FPS all throughout either (Xbone went as low as 800-828p at 40-ish FPS according to Digital Foundry’s analysis of those versions). Alongside Wolfenstein TNC, it’s the single best looking game on consoles that targets 60FPS out there. There’s a reason why even the DF guy himself is impressed by the port! It’s a bit soft looking, but it’s still the same, full fat DOOM experience; only now playable on the bus and train!

Unless you want to do via Twitter/Facebook uploading, yes, it’s the only way. You don’t need to specially format the MicroSD card though. It just uses the standard SDXC format and will just work when put into a PC (Should all be stored in the “Nintendo” folder IIRC) Pictures are all .jpg and videos are in h264 format; they can just be copied straight off of it no problem.

Genuinely surprised to see DOOM above Sonic Forces on the UK eShop! Sonic Forces also came out 3 days before DOOM too! Edit: It's currently 2 places above it on the US eShop too! Awesome!

I’ve just been using the dock as normal from day 1. No scratches on mine

While I'm kinda sad that they've changed Truth, Doubt, Lie to Good Cop, Bad Cop, Accuse; it is definitely a big change for the better. The dialogue choices may make sense now! (even if the responses aren't going to be as ridiculous and laugh out loud funny as in the original...). I enjoyed this the first time around and I'm certainly up for another go around!
