  1. NO!! Go DOWN the mountain stupid!!!
  2. Off to a pretty cool start! Nice idea for a BOTW challenge! Wonder what the 3 player game challenge will be...
  3. Yo! @RedShell, have you got Sonic Mania yet? The whole soundtrack is just utterly sublime!
  4. Oh snap! It’s tonight!? I’ma gonna have to stay up for this one. The 2015 one was surprisingly hype! What time does it start in BST?
  5. I just updated to iOS 11 on my iPhone SE and the notification icons aren’t being displayed... Is it just me? Edit: Never mind, they’re showing now. Weird...
  6. Nobody expected it to have absolutely zero means of playing with friends online though. Even the Wii U FIFA had that! Either way, I don't think you can pin the blame on that lacking feature for its sales.
  7. Can't blame its sales on that. People didn't know anything about that before it came out... Or the other missing features... That being said, the supply issues are probably partly responsible. The missing features certainly won't help with its legs though.
  8. Yeah, I can see that @S.C.G liked the above posts (and that he'll like this post too )
  9. This thing is frickin' diminutive! It's so squee it hurts! I actually quite like the CRT filter. I'm usually not a big fan of them, but this one is really quite subtle and tastefully done. I could actually see myself using it
  10. And there's the catch... There always has to be at least one...
  11. He just would've been a good choice of an Archer character. Beats yet another sword user from Awakening!
  12. HOLY CRAP! THE SHELL IS BACK!! It's so great to see you again! And talk about an entrance! (At my expense of course ) Yeah, I noticed that you got a Switch, I spotted you on my friend list Hope things are good with you right now! And I hope we see you around here more, we all missed you terribly!
  13. Yeah, I don't get the secrecy. The port actually looks really good! (Especially when you consider that the resolution and frame rate is a match for the PS4/Xbone versions!)
  14. Oh yeah, forgot to declare myself... IN!
  15. The menu is exactly the same across all of their releases. It's not flashy, but it gets the job done (and given how regularly they release these, I suppose it makes sense for them to have a simple menu design that they can apply to games quickly and easily - Don't forget that all arcade games have unique dipswitch settings too, so it's a bit different from the VC, where every game on each given console will have the same universal settings to be applied to them; so unlike the VC menus, the menus for arcade games need to be modular.). The best thing about this simplistic approach to menu design though is that you get the original arcade experience as-is. No menus that take away the ability to insert credits, no losing the original attract mode screens, no losing the Challenger Approaching screens when you select 2 players mid-game in fighting games etc; it's just the original game running on Switch. You can just leave the game running on the attract screen and treat it like an arcade cabinet beckoning you to play, as intended The only thing that consistently annoys me about their menus for me really is the lack of an aspect ratio/integer scaling lock for the screen size options. Kind of annoying to have to figure out the ideal scaling ratio by myself, but it's a one time only thing, so not that bad really.
  16. I've just had a mild mindblow with Mario Bros Arcade... Super Mario World wasn't the first game to have Koopa Troopas (Shellcreepers here) wearing t-shirts under their shells! They've actually worn them ever since the very beginning! The game is actually quite different to the NES version BTW. It's a lot harder! (You get much less time to kick enemies after they've been knocked over, it's much faster, there are more enemies onscreen at once, fireballs appear very fast, POW block doesn't regenerate etc), the visuals are much better (a lot more animation and colours), there are interstitial screens that introduce enemies and the physics are very different too (Mario is super slidy here!). It's pretty interesting to see and feel the differences!
  17. There is actually an officially licensed Gottlieb SMB pinball machine! With Nintendo licensing their Arcade games to Hamster, I don't see why it would be impossible for them to do the same here... Would be an awesome little exclusive for Nintendo owners (and a great way for making up for the fact that the Wii U and 3DS versions of TPA that were promised never ended up getting released!)
  18. Beautiful shots there @Goafer! You've got some real talent there!
  19. I don't really like Zen Pinball all that much, but I'd love to see The Pinball Arcade come to Switch!
  20. I did mess around with the demo on the JPN eShop. I had a decent time with it; it's good fun and disgustingly twee, which is A-OK by me!
  21. The tutorial is pretty comprehensive. Did you actually play through it, or just skip it? Field Phase is basically about trying to psyche out your opponent to gain the advantage going into battle phase and the combat takes cues from Soul Calibur in that you have a rock-paper-scizzors style setup where normal attacks beat grabs, counters beat normal attacks and grabs beat counters (and shields for that matter). You have support Pokémon who can help you lay on the pressure or get out of a tight spot by pressing L and you also have your Synergy Burst where you get a... well... burst of energy, with boosted attack, defence and priority on moves; concluding in a Super Move you can do by pressing L&R again before the gauge runs out (watch out though because it fails if you miss with it, or the opponent blocks it). That's about it really! The movelist is also pretty simple and easy to grasp too (you can check it from the pause menu).
  22. Funny you should mention that...
  23. Funny. Me and @Glen-i were literally chatting about the Zelda DLC just the other day. They're still spying on us!
  24. Yeah, Capcom really screwed the pooch here. Fighters are actually doing fairly well in general; but Capcom are just handling their games terribly all round (BTW - for extra laughs - it turns out that USF2 didn't just chart higher than MvsCi, it outsold it in its first week too! - I'm pretty sure that wasn't supposed to happen ) Still, Pokken, ARMS and even USF2 itself show that there's a sizable audience for fighters on Switch. Hopefully other publishers take notice! Would love to see Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 on Switch!
