  1. Heh, yeah I have some boosts too. Just need more ore© What I don't have is the perk to craft up magic gear. If I'm going to enchant this armour, I need to make it as good as I can first.
  2. Made myself a set of flawless Orc armour yesterday. Imma hard to kill naow. I've taken up enchanting a bit too, which has boosted my shit kicking credentials considerably.
  3. yeah re`; turnout here, I think it was Dark Souls that got its hooks on me, then I never really went back. I'm behind on DLC too but the mp is sick on this so might well come back if there's a move to get a game on.
  4. My first horse died by running on to one of those lookout bridges (they end in a kind of beak sculpture) to kill an archer, then when I got on him again, he couldn't turn around and fell off. Farks sake.
  5. Tell you what is annoying: my horse. Dumb shit charges in to any old fight he can at the drop of a hat. Fucker keeps trying to die on me.
  6. Massive Win! Really happy for you both Sweet digs, too. I had no idea you guys were planning this, though! Guess I haven't been online here much lately.
  7. Recent games! I got Catan: Traders and Barbarians like Jay, which has totally blown my Catan brain. For fans of the game, it's essentially 4-5 different scenarios, each of which adds loads to the central game (unlike Seafarers which is basically a whole new game.) Each scenario is a really interesting way to change the priorities of each resource card adds a kind of 'meta game' you play around the usual expansion game. It's awesome. Also had a chance to to try out Munchkin this week. Great game- fast, funny, easy to grasp, lots of depth and some cool ideas. And made by Steve Jackson! Now, question! Does anyone have any experience with Dungeon Quest or anything similar? I've been wanting to try out something like a dungeon crawl game but I don't really know the sub genre. Thing is they seem expensive, so I don't want to invest poorly.
  8. Yeah I saw this ages ago. Pretty cool if I remember- incredibly stylish and distinctive. Well worth a watch, though I've not seen it in years so...yeah!
  9. Pull and hold the brake and you'll switch to hover mode. After burner pumps the VTOL thruster.
  10. ok...how? :P
  11. SRS question: Can you hover in choppers?
  12. I absolutely didn't let out a solitary, testosterone soaked tear during the final stages (loooooooool) of this film. No matter what @Emma says. She cried like a poopy pants, anyway so nyyeeeerr! Cracking film, though. The very fact that it exists is a testament to the quality of the writing - both drama and comedy sides of it. I thought it was ace, and the only real flaw in it that we could come up with is that a lot of the cast felt typecast. JGL was basically that guy from (500) Days of Summer and Seth Rogan was...Seth Rogan, from everything. etc. Other than that, it's one of the best films I've seen in ages.
  13. Yeah I caught them live in Sheffield- friend of mine interviewed Joe the lead singer and apparently he's really sound too. Great band anyway, I've gotten really in to the Slave Ambient record since.
  14. he did say power cut, though. Unless Bethesda recently invested their profits in the National Grid, I think we can rule them out of the blame for this one. However, if they actually did make that investment, we're all fucked.
  15. The War On Drugs are my new besties. Absolutely ace band, if you have a taste for Americana (which you totally should)
  16. OK so I just played a bit of campaign and...well fuck me. It really is an absolutely stunning remaster. The HD visuals are nice enough but the audio! oh man. It's incredible. Really enjoying it all again, despite what I posted before. There are problems with the campaign- it does reuse environments, it does have some occasionally poor level design...but man, 10 years is a long, long time in gaming and it's a testament to the sheer quality of the core gameplay and AI that the game remains immensely playable despite those flaws. If it came out fresh this year, it'd still get really high scores.
  17. have you checked your statement since, Paj? If nobody grabbed the money straight away I think the machines eat the notes again. You might be lucky and still have your £20 in the account.
  18. Personally I was a little put out when I heard about that. People often bitch about the multiplayer but for my money, Halo has got better with each game in the campaigns. I'd have loved a 'remix' version with the expanded Covenant forces from Reach, plus stuff like vehicle boarding.
  19. I just got a temp job for Christmas. Call centre for marks and sparks taking orders and stuff. It's actually an OK job but fuck me, the company that hired me for it are fucking shite. - first off, they hired me late. I interviewed on the Friday to start on Monday. I was informally told that I'd be hired no problem but didn't actually hear from them all weekend. On the Monday, @Emma asked me to help out on a school trip with her kids as a supervisor so I was actually at the school when they called me at 8.30 to come in. Caused a massive faff at the school having to leave like that. To make things worse, they told me I could come in dressed casually as they'd hired me late and I'd already left the house. I got there and they sent me home for not adhering to the dress code. As a result of all this dicking about, I'm late on everything. I was in training and had no computer log in, I wasn't given a note pad (because I'm not officially part of the group), I got assigned to a manager late, still don't have a key card for the office and they didn't even take down my financial information properly. the final insult is that, now I finally have a log in, they've spelled my name wrong. The pricks. Just...I don't even know.
  20. The more I learn about Frank Miller, the more I realise that, to him, Sin City is not black comedy. It's the wish fulfilment power fantasy of a very, very disturbing man. He leaves a sour taste on the tongue like few can. His attitudes towards women and other races are particularly disturbing and cast even his best work in a profoundly unsettling light that makes it hard to justify reading them. Year One is amazing, but should I buy it knowing who wrote it?
  21. Yeah that is a bit weird. Also pretty much what Facebook was invented for also, like Paj said, there's dozens of identifiably single girls on the web actively looking for men. Get proactive if all you're doing is meeting girls with boyfriends
  22. So what did you guys make of Uncanny X-Men 1? Seemed pretty strong for me- really like the pitch of Cyclops' team as part super team part 'nuclear deterrent'. That said, I do wish they'd have destroyed Utopia in Schism. Just don't like the place and I'd much prefer them to be in San Francisco proper. X Men 20 was good too, although I still don't think the book totally stands on its own (feels like it should be called 'not uncanny' or something) the actual story is good and I like the cast.
  23. Will more n likely pick this up tomorrow, so expect me to come on and unleash the lolpwn. on 360.
