Wicked -- I read Wonder Woman! I need to write a couple of blog posts today to update but I absolutely loved it. Totally nailed the horror behind greek myth, the petty, selfish gods and then gave it a smart modern twist. Yes. Come on! I'm left wondering (lol) how she'll fit in to the JL books though seeing how violent her own title is. Hmmm!

Yeeesssssss. Best ending. I watched it again on youtube recently and welled up a little. It's absolutely perfect and that montage at the end really hits you. It's a testament to the quality of the show that I genuinely felt for the Fisher clan and watching it all come to an end felt like the end of an actual relationship.

That costume = sick as bawls.

aye, probably. Out tonight for a gig but might be on late if I can be bothered :P

Probably the bit when you annihilated most of the team by yourself in the pistol spawn on Old Town. That was some spectacular shit! I was all over the place. Had some good games getting 4 odd kills and kicking ass with frags then I'd have a game of no kills and a series of absolutely absurd deaths. Oh well.

If anyone's on later I'll be playing this. All day.

Have you read it all Rez? I'm picking it up again and just to

new profile is all kinds of awesome. New news feed is fucking AIDS.

Anyone read Schism? Really good stuff. The Fight finally kicked off and the reasons felt good. In character, reasonable on both sides and powerful. The way Aaron finally brings them to blows is really powerful and vicious too. The words are as brutal as the fight itself. Great stuff.

I have a feeling my friends list is full but I'll see about clearing some space and adding a few of you guys if there's a regular game brewing. Tag's on the left, innit.

I heard this was excellent, so I shall watch it. Yes.

I thought it was incredible. Though, being a massive Le Carrè fan means I'm pretty biased. Performances were absolutely flawless all round and the screenplay was just...I have no idea how they did it. The book should be unfilmable but they somehow managed it. ith regards to Rez' point about showin emotion, I really disagree. The cast are all spies so they don't open themselves like they otherwise might but the emotion is all there still. I particularly thought that Gary Oldman nailed Smiley: All restraint on the surface but you can see the disappointment and anger on his face and it's only very briefly that you can see the cracks but they're delivered amazingly. Benedict Cumberbatch was fantastic too as Peter Guilliam - the scenes with him coming apart under the pressure were magnificent. The plot is really difficult though, especially the Witchcraft stuff (I thought they should have spent more time on it personally, even having read the book) so I can imagine new viewers having a hard time or concentrating more on the plot than the mote subtle elements of the film. I just really hope they make the other two books in the series in to films the same way. It'd be a shame to leave it when they have such a magnificent team behind this film.

It's true. I've seen Shorty sit through Wolverine: Origins and Push. The man has a strong cinema stomach.

Enter James Randi, mentioned in the article I posted. This video features the footage of the 'faith healer' scumbag he discredited in the mid eighties. Really worth watching for the people who are saying this is all a bit of harmless fun because Peter Popoff made millions off the people he scammed and they weren't grieving housewives after a bit of consolation, they were people with severe cancer in need of medical help who he convinced he had healed and did no longer require medicine. That's...it's just appalling, really. Utterly evil.

Weird recommendation: Fear Itself: The Monkey King #1 Absolutely fantastic. Introduces a new character from the Iron Fist / Immortal Weapons crew, a great back story, fun characters, great art, wicked powers and giant monkeys. Read eeeeeeeit. I'm hoping it'll launch a mini at least.

I just read this piece on psychics in today's Guardian: It absolutely enrages me that these people should be allowed to operate their snake-oil scams in this country. They're frauds and should be prosecuted as such. Dishonest liars who manipulate the poor and desperate for lucrative financial gain. faith healers, psychics, mediums and all the rest should be banned. Unless they provide substantial proof to their claims, they should not be allowed to ask for money. Simple.

Yeah I liked the Superboy characterisation and some of the tricks they pulled, but a lot of it was meh too. Hoping the good stuff outweighs the meh overall. the bit in Kansas was great, actually. The more I think about it the better / funnier it gets. the bit in Kansas was great, actually. The more I think about it the better / funnier it gets.

I was less keen on Superboy, but it was ok

Bullshit. Those players got sent off for some cynical, desperate and dirty fouls. They were playing fucking shit and resorted to hacking down the better Spurs players. Spurs would have continued to score, too. Both the last two goals were from marked players (particularly Defoe, that was some sick control) so it's not like they were uncontested.

Haha. Gamestation are giving this away for free! If you're one of the first ten in line! And agree to have the cog skull shaved in to your head on site!

I'm playing a 'lethal' play now, but I'm still not going all guns blazing exactly. It still feels totally out of character to, say, kill cops, so I don't. The game is excellently paced, however, and provides some brilliant action sequences if you want them to play that way. The escape from the pods, the FEMA warehouse, parts of KYM etc. It's not unlike a big action movie with great pacing actually and it's a very fun way to play. I have an absolute shitload of ammunition though from not using all my guns constantly. Like...a 10 + stockpile of Typhoon ammo alone.

Woah! Ultimate Spider-Man was pretty much incredible, right? Shows what Bendis can really do when he's on form. I've been getting a bit frustrated with his style on Avengers but this was perfect. I think it kind of demonstrates that he's more suited to solo books and it'd be best if he moved that way in Marvel as a whole. Loved Miles, loved his family, loved the sheer contrast of it all. Loved that last page. Hell of an ending!

Just caught MOTD2: By shit, Modric absolutely smashed that opening goal in. That was brilliant. Spurs would almost certainly have beaten Liverpool without the red cards, but they absolutely rinsed them with the advantage. loved seeing Fulham equalise too. That was amazing.
