As is clearly the case with every set shot, every preview etc from every film ever made: The suit will not look like that in motion.

Jensen sounds like a riiiiiiight nobber sometimes. Other lines it totally works but nobody but Clint can actually pull it off. Would have been better if it wasn't as gruff in the prologue- make it a consequence of his injuries or whatever. Doesn't really matter that much though because he's still one of my favourite protagonists of all time- just in terms of visual style and impact. You feel lethal and dangerous as him. It's immensely empowering.

Hahaha. I always liked that in Invincible they never tried to do that- Mark's just so fast he gets dressed between panels
-
Didn't they say something along the lines of "Superman is now much more Kal-El than Clark Kent"- presumably the armoured look is part of that, with him living openly as an alien.

Superman: Going Commando. 2012

Absolutely astounded Spurs have kept Modric. Their midfield is looking absolutely lethal but with just one striker they might still find it difficult to finish. They're in a better position than they were with Crouch though either way.
-
He should never look too ridiculous though- and I think the slightly less buff look makes his strength more disproportionate, more alien. It's always about balance.

After 15 years, we finally got some good pictures of Babs. all together now: dwww'aaawwwww

RETCON! IT'S BEEN RETCONNED! 0_O

Justice League #1 is really good. It's clever in setting up a really distinctive world where nobody is a celebrated hero or anything and Superman is considered an unknown danger. Also lots of Batman / Green Lantern which is boss. Great start

Yeah that's true- but it's also a reaction against what happened in Paris I think.

I actually think it worked. I mean, Tony is kind of unique amongst the heroes in the MU that he doesn't really seem to enjoy what he does. It's more that he can do it, and his guilt over his former way of life drives him to it. He's never seemed naturally heroic and often nearly overwhelmed by some of the stuff he has to deal with. So for him to buckle under the stress in Paris actually seemed quite natural for me. Also, I think it's clear now that Fraction was always going to bring it back. He's been writing it in the background for some time now. Since #1 actually.

I'd still say Avengers Academy is their best book, with Uncanny X-Force and Thunderbolts in hot pursuit. Oh, and Children's Crusade is absolutely amazing but it's only bi-monthly. A while ago I would have said Invincible Iron Man but I don't think the Fear Itself tie ins have been much good- certainly not consistently. Iron Man vs Grey Gargoyle in Paris was amazing but this whole dwarf thing and Pepper and....urgh. It's been really quite shit since. Really poor, which is odd considering Fraction is writing it AND the Fear Itself series.

Buzz off! Anyone ever had to deal with pests before?
Dan_Dare replied to Rummy's topic in General Chit Chat
I had fruit flies in my house in second year at uni. The girls I lived with insisted on basically trying to bake our house with the central heating day in day out so when the temperature fell in September, the flies found our nice warm house and decided to live there. Forever. Not really sure how we got them in the end but I think we managed to drop the temperature enough to kill them off, as well and being ruthlessly clean for a bit and taking away all their food. -
It's cool, but as it's basically one fuck off punch up, I'm not really loving it. I do like it though, and I think it's leading to good things in a few books- especially Iron Man and Thor. Schism is better I think, because it's taking the franchise in a radically different direction than what's been done before in a really interesting way and has had a fair bit more character to it. Spider-Island is really good too actually. Forgot about that. I hope it doesn't change Spider-Man too much though because I really like the whole angle they've found with Peter working in science properly and moving past the maligned 'menace' thing, which is really tired now.

Is anyone else kind of waiting out the summer events at Marvel? Fear Itself is OK and Schism is really good, but what comes next really interests me more, particularly for the X-Men. Children's Crusade ends at the same time too so we have 3 big stories heading towards a unified status quo shift that sounds a lot more interesting than what's currently going on. Hum!

You filthy sausage roll slut! (also: Cheers!)

psst, Goafer! Have you posted the pad yet?

It's kind of cover based, all about line of sight and timing. You have the ability to spring between cover by doing SWAT turns, rolls and so on between two points so stealthing through sections is about picking a route, staying out of sight and timing moves between cover. There's no arbitrary stealth meter or hiding in shadows either- if it looks like you'll be seen, you will. It's also pretty fast, which is good.

Straight up, holmes.
