Got my new books in the post. Totally recommend the Schism HC- dunno if it's a new standard for events at Marvel or whatever but the pages are actually a lot bigger than my other books. Almost like a 'blockbuster' print. Dead cool. Also got The Dark Angel Saga pt. I, which is totally fucking amazing, obvs.

the irony being that the biggest book I own, by far, is that enormous Invincible paperback. I read that absolutely terrified that the sheer weight of it would pull the book in half or something. It's well made though. I've just had quite a few trades made with poor binding etc so it's hc all the way for me now. You usually find them heavily reduced on Amazon too

The Town is Fuck Awesome. Great movie. Renner really has been typecast in to 'military-ish tough guy' roles though. I mean, he's perfect for them, but I imagine he gets a shitload of scripts where he'd rather do something else.
-
Yeah it is. Typecast again Personally, I won't really miss Damon all that much. I mean, he was good in the role but that's because Jason is kind of an everyman- his actual character was largely left fairly vague so he's hardly irreplaceable.

Hardbacks are more durable, though, and I prefer the build quality to the paperbacks. That's partially why I don't buy singles because they're just not easy enough to look after.

Pro: Jeremy Fuckin Renner Con: Looks like they're making Treadstone like...Captain America...wut. The whole idea before was about brainwashing and hypnosis, not super healing and shit.

Yeah just that one. It's the same stuff as the tpb but I've started a bookshelf trend of hcs only with Iron Man and...well...they're not that much more, ammarite? (It also has an epilogue about The Scorpion, is that included?) Part 1 of The Dark Angel Saga has arrived with the rents too so YAY MOAR BOOKS Oh, God. I can't stop. Help me.

Got my mitts on the Big Time hc today. Really great arc actually it's just perfect spidey all round. What I really enjoy about the whole Big Time set up is that they've totally invigorated the whole book with great changes- Peter has a new job, a new girlfriend, new cast members to play off and the way they genuinely make Spider-Man match his Avengers membership in his solo book is great. The fact that they did all this without resorting to shock tactics, retcons or convoluted twists is a testament to Slott's ability as a story teller. Very good read. I think a bunch of Spidey trades are my new thing. I lost track of the book a bit with the rapid schedule and I really love Ramos' art. Worth owning.

EDGE have given this really positive previews. Trailer looks good and from what I hear the developers are taking a really good approach to the game. Yep, very interested.
-
Very intrigued about what they're doing here. Naughty Dog are, basically, the only reason I've regretted not getting a PS3 but hopefully I'll have one before this is out. Am excite! also, edited the title because it's neater and everyone knows NG are a Sony 2nd Party anyway

I really regret joining Ulfric. The game initially sways you quite cleverly towards his side because the Empire initially do try and kill you etc. Turns out the 'noble rebellion' as advertised is home to racists and extremists - chief amongst them being Ulfric himself. I think I'll see it through anyway just to see how it goes but my next run is definitely Imperial.

Ordered some books books last night- The Dark Angel Saga (I and II, II being a pre-order at a good price with amazon fyi) but managed to order them to my parents' address by mistake. Cock. Changed one back to my flat but the others were with indies so the address is stuck. Not a massive issue but...feeeh. Also went to my local library, which you should all really look in to joining. I had Irredeemable Ant Man and Akira vol. 1 on reservation and picked up the Avengers 'Infinity' trade and Alias vol. 1 while I was passing through.

late to da choppah, but I really liked Saturday. I agree though that the Baxster stuff grew a bit contrived. The first scene is really well done but later it kind of felt like it was a contrivance to give the book more of an almost thriller-y structure which I felt wasn't needed. I was quite happy without it reading the family and character stuff.

Has anyone here not read Uncanny X-Force? I recently reminded myself that it's probably marvel's best book, if not THE best book, currently going. Fucking brilliant.

Dude, if you're not secure with more than £100,000 in the bank, when will you be? Even from that surely you can put down 80K deposit, get a mortgage and STILL have more left, in capital, than I'll earn before tax in an entire year. Living independently costs money. It's how the world works and the sooner you just accept that and move on with your life the better. I mean, I'm 25 same as you and I've only just moved out so I get it- my parents didn't kick me out and I was more than welcome to stay but it's something you have to do. I was comfortable and could have stayed to save up - It's just more important that you take that step by yourself. Carpe Diem n all that.
-
You have SIX FIGURE SAVINGS. What the shitting ballfuck are you on about? I'm sorry, but if you think that's a genuine concern then...I dunno. You crazy brah. I've moved out and you know how much I have in the bank? £422. That's fuck all, and I'm spending loads going out for meals, going on trips and buying a massive TV and other stuff for the flat. Now, granted, I'm not living alone, but I'm independent, have my own place and I have nothing to worry about. You could BUY A HOUSE and still be better off than me with that kind of money.

that mission threw me: How do you get in to the archaeology dig?
