Have to say I found the album totally forgettable in places and annoying in others. Just not interested at all.

Got an Email from Amazon: my Dark Angel Saga pt.II is delayed till the 9th apparently. Piss. first time in ages that I actually have no idea what will happen. I only read a couple of issues after the AoA stuff so the whole Warren / Archangel thing is a total mystery. I've completely dropped comic news sites from my web browsing too so I have absolutely no idea about Spider-Man, Avengers, X-Men and all the rest. Actually pretty nice.

NO IT'S NOT IT'S TERRIBLE.

They did, yes.

Just put my order through with shopto. Paid now to A) make sure I don't forget money is going out of my account and over spend and B) to make sure it actually works. I recently moved and these sites can be a bit funny with new addresses.

This is what crazy looks like in text form

I got out of there, but it's a tough joint. I only had one try but at least I found the bonfire. The hardest thing now is the humanity problem because I frankly have no idea how to get any more and I really don't like running on 5 estus.
-
In actual game new: I'm pretty lost in the dukes archive, I have no humanity and could really, really do with kindling the bonfire here. Piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiss!

this month featured an 8 page (EIGHT PAGES) on a processor company. Again: 8 pages. Fuck that.

Update everyone: We heard last night that she had friends over. Crikey. in other awesome news:I came across this earlier: It's the address written for President Nixon that would have been read out on TV if Armstrong and Aldrin had been left stranded on the moon in a disaster during the Apollo 11 mission. related: Letters of Note is a fucking awesome blog.

Yep. Not seen it this week but last week's was great - felt like a well needed palette cleanser almost that really focused on Ted's emotional state, reminded us of his character arc, tied off a lingering plot line and gave the season that narrative kick start towards the teased wedding and everything with that. I was also happy to see Ted back in the centre again as, lately, I've felt he's been more of a supporting character to the rest of the gang. Very much looking forward to watching the new episode tonight.

Actually, we could tell she was pretty smokin.

True story.

Fuck that- I did the last level of Rayman: Origins last night- significantly harder than DS! Truth is, this game aint that hard. It's tough, yeah, and punishing, but what really sets it apart from most games these days is that it doesn't treat you like a moron. If you pay attention, don't run around like an idiot and actually use some lateral thinking, you'll be more than capable of dealing with the challenge. This is a game to be learned. As such, it's very different to 90% of games today that are terrified of you making mistakes or failing, but that can only be a good thing.

tbh you'll probably run in to the same issues: Item menu is guff and the system is....daunting. That said, the game is designed around community interaction so if you have any questions, there's a wealth of info around, not to mention a few of us here who play a lot.

Never played the first game myself. I'm considering buying a ps3 for media hub duties under the telly so might get it. Thing is Dark is such a MASSIVE game, I can already see myself going for at least two more characters, probably a pvp build too.

Hahaha seriously, though: I genuinely think this is my favourite game this gen. I think you'd get a kick out of it. Plus: It's cheap
-
You do. You just don't know you do
-
Actually it's been scientifically proven that beating certain bosses on this game gives you massive dangly badman balls. Even you, Bard. Even you.
-
Fucking buy the game you asshats, then we'll see! You'll all be like 'fuck this shit is hard! Wish I'd listened to Dan when he was telling everyone how to play because he's just a swell guy'

Both useful. Dunno how crossbows scale but bows are dex weapons and can be aimed in 1st person for big, big crits if you get a headshot. also: Dark Souls Wiki is your friend. The sections on Humanity are really handy. Plus some great pages on weapons and rings. my favourite rings so far (as a warrior) have been Havel's Ring, which lets you carry 2x the weight in gear before you slow down and the darkwood grain ring, which doubles the effect of how fast you can move under weight. So if you carry 50% of your limit you can move as if you were carrying 25%. It also gives you a ninja as balls evade move that absolutely takes the piss vs slower enemies. Not the easiest rings to find, though... Havel is at the bottom of Undead Burgh very early in the game but he's hilariously hard to kill. Guaranteed 1 shot to kill you and head to toe in incredibly heavy armour. It's doable, but it takes some doing. ] Darkwood ring requires some pretty elaborate shit involving joining a covenant and killing an NPC in it so I won't explain the full works, but read up on it because the ring fucking rocks.

What I mean is the very idea of giving something up / striving to do more is negative. It goes like this: - give up chocolate for 40 days! - Pressure! Remember, don't eat chocolate! Just think about it constantly so you don't! - Shit now I really want chocolate because it's all I'm thinking about! - om nom nom nom nom - oh, god! The shame! - shame drives you to eat more chocolate than ever. You are forever alone, you waste of fatty space. basically, forcing yourself in to good behaviour this way(by attaching significance like Lent and new year resolutions) it's something you're demanding of yourself, not really wanting of yourself. It makes the abstinence negative in your brain and when you inevitably fail, you feel worse than ever. Obviously that's not going to be everyone, but it's the majority. We're just wired that way.

Hallo! There's...a lot left unexplained. In fact, most of the game is. I'll start with big ones that tripped me up. the first is scaling. Basically each weapon has a damage output which increases with each upgrade ( so a +5 longsword is significantly better than a +1) but they also come with scaling ranks. A long sword, for example, might be ranked C for strength but D for dexterity and E for Intelligence or Faith. This means that a Strength based character is significantly better at using a longsword than characters invested in other stats. However! You'll meet several blacksmiths in the game that will offer to build you magic or divine weapons (plus some other stuff) this does not mean you get magic damage on top of normal damage. What it means is the scaling switches to favour intelligence and faith instead of strength so a mage using a magic longsword will do really good damage. the other thing is levelling in DS you spend the same currency on upgrading your stats as you do on upgrading your gear. In short: always upgrade gear first. Stats are not the primary source of damage or protection in the game, gear is. With your stats you should invest as a means of hitting the requirements for a desired weapon. After that, investing in the weapon itself is more effective at upping damage. The exceptions to this rule are Vitality and Endurance, which boost HP and Stamina and are very important. also, don't hoard. Spend as you can. Save up for specific goals but, trust me, you only want to carry what you're willing to loose in a flash.
